wrong! you VR folk just don't understand :camp: ---------- Post added at 11:47 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:45 AM ---------- Has he taken the bate?....

pooo.... well ill let you know how I get on. Maybe mention it on the Corrado club forum, I know they have an agreement with them and they certainly have a few members insured with them that have HEAVILY modified cars.
-
If you drop the corrado clubs name with Kriss Knott they should try to beat any quote you get... that's if they still cover mods that is....

Should last a year but the primer should really be alloy specific. I did mine with the halfords standard paint (more choice of colours) but forgot to use alloy primer and the paint is starting to crack. Looks ok from a distance but ideally I'll have to rub down and start again. ---------- Post added at 11:22 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:21 AM ---------- Should last a year but the primer should really be alloy specific. i'm phoning them up for a quote today so i'll let you know how i get on. the mods i have are ported charger, 68mm pully, (+30bhp) kw springs and after market alloys Is that similar to you mat in terms of BHP increase and cost of mods?

the word corrado (meaning jet stream or wind current) is derived from the Spanish words "Correr" which is the verb to run or Sprint

charger is ported but otherwise very little has been done. Eventually want to get the exhaust changed, de-cat, manifolds ported etc. Just nice to know that i can do this myself in the comfort of my spare room :D
-
a more responsive throttle is something i would crave... I'll have to get me hands on a second hand throttle body
-
engines running great thanks... It's the wheels not being on im having the trouble with!
-
Or that it was a better car... :splat:
-
What he meant to say was that it "should" be a g60. And I couldn't agree more!

Threaded or not I managed to solve it this evening after talking to my dad. He told me to just glue a new tube in the old hole, used a brass section and glued in with epoxy (good for 200 degrees so should be fine) my main worry with doing this insitue was getting metal swarf in the intake manifold.... I did it by using plenty of grease on the drill bit and going very slowly but after doing it I decided there was to much risk of getting metal and grease dropping down into the engine. I'll take off the throttle body tomorrow and give the inside of the manifold a good clean! That should make sure that I don't wreck my engine!!!! End of tube is a little crap as well... Will again clean this up tomorrow. The important thing is that I'll get it machined out and done properly when/if I get the manifold and throttle body ported.

I have a ported charger (stage 4) and 68mm pulley but i doubt it's pulling 180bhp at the moment with it being sat idle for so long. The charger needs servicing too and that doesn't help. I wont be putting my gearbox in until i have more money i think. Want to get the valves re-seated and the charger serviced 1st, then in with the box. Looks good for me doing the same kinda speeds though, not that'll be able to get up to that speed in the UK....

Alex_G60_Fanatic replied to neuon2003's topic in Drivetrain
it's probably a "Käse" or something german surely! -
JMC How long did you take to do this porting yourself? With a dremmel is it something that can be done in a weekened? And what did you use to polish the metal?

Are most rados generally past it / riddled with rust?

I find it amusing that when someone wants to buy a C every one says they're expensive to buy and when someone is trying to sell one they say it's too expensive and that C's are cheep! I do think £2000 is a little on the cheep side if you wont something better than a std run around but not impossible. I got mine for £1800 2 years ago and that was a G60. It did however, turn out to need alot of TLC. Hope you find what your looking for mate! -
You'll need it... without a doubt. No point getting fancy wishbones without fitting a ARB. With your wishbones working independently your car will wont to roll over... thats why the rear beam is made of one piece and not split in two. have you considered trying ARB's from different cars? or getting one fabricated maybe?
