  1. It fell off mate... I was well gutted until I spotted it on the garage floor a few days later... its glued on good and proper this time.. ;) Rog.
  2. Little update... well I'm a good 300 odd miles since replacing the big end shells, all seems fine so far. (fingers crossed) So I've had a few days off work and what with the weather being so nice I thought I'd get a few jobs done. First on the list, fit my BMC... I know most people use the tensioner tension wind off hole to mount their BMC support bracket but it didn't look right for me so I made a little bracket from some scrap aluminium I had kicking about. Bracket mounted on the tensioner. And finally, BMC installed. Chuffed to bits with it, the induction roar at WOT is awesome... Next job, install a Bluetooth adapter for my JVC stereo. I decided to install it in the spare switch slot next to the light switch so I made a backing plate from some plastic I had kicking about (actually a Renault Scenic under tray) Really pleased with it, the location is ideal, the mic picks up sound ok and when driving its hidden from view behind the steering wheel so does not distract you. It's an awesome bit of kit, not only does it allow handsfree use of your phone including voice dialing but I can also stream my music via it. Also managed to fit my Heko wind deflectors (many thanks to Rob for picking these up for me) Really easy to fit, literately took two minutes to fit each side, I used a little bit of double sided tape to secure them. Also managed to install the heater back light kit that arrived today, pics to follow when its dark...lol and finally... I fitted a Trimsport half sized storm badge to the front.. All in all a good day. Rog.
  3. Mine arrived today and I managed to fit it this afternoon, took me about an hour by following Steve's instructions. The only difference for me was I used a bit of silicon glue to secure it in the front panel, bluetak would have the job but I couldn't find any. In fact the EL sheet is such a good fit the the original locating tabs actually hold it in, I just wanted to be extra secure. Very impressed with the kit, quality products used and very well put together, the EL sheet is a perfect fit and the inverter surprisingly small. I can't report on light output as its still daylight but an initial test in the garage (just the front panel connected to a battery) produced a good result. All in all, two thumbs good from me... Steve.. good work fella. Rog.
  4. Can't believe that's the same interior, looks awesome mate. Rog.
  5. Afternoon chaps, Quick question for you, I'm hoping to do my headlight wiring upgrade soon so I'll need new lamps. I'm going for the Osram Night breakers but what size do I need for both lamps (I think something like H4) I know I should know this but thought I'd ask the collective for the definitive answer. Many thanks Rog.
  6. I'm planning to come up on the day and 'may' camp the sunday night, is that possible or do we need camping numbers before. Rog.
  7. He's selling as they don't fold forward but they originally came out of a corrado...mmmmm I smell BS. Rog.
  8. Dave, thats a typo on Robs part, I spoke to him earlier and it was 0.02 amps (20 milliamps). Rog.
  9. So, whilst I was at work the other day showing my colleagues the wonderful electric spoiler I got to thinking.... Does it actually do anything or was it just a marketing ploy? When I had my CRX I remember a post on the forum about people removing the spoiler, some boffin piped up that whilst the spoiler did create some drag it actually moved the airflow join point (the point where air flowing under the car joins air flowing over the top of the car) further back and hence actually improved the aerodynamics by reducing turbulence close to the rear of the car. I'm wondering what effect the spoiler on a Corrado has and why it was deemed necessary for it to be electric? I get a funny feeling it's more of a marketing ploy, after all no other massed produced cars have them. Rog.
  10. Nice one, cheers fellas, so how hard is it to remove the motor, is it a head lining down job? Rog.
  11. Evening all, I've known since I got my Storm that there was a problem with the sunroof so today I built up enough courage to give it a go. Now it tilts fine however when I try to open it problems start. If press the open button the roof panel moves back about 5mm and then stops, if I press the button again it does the same, moves another 5mm and stops, I can keep pushing the button and get the roof open but in 5mm step ( I've only opened it a third), the same happens when I close it but in reverse, it will close but in 5mm steps. Anyone have any clue what's wrong? Rog.
  12. New on Ch4, here is the blurb from the Ch4 website. Car fanatic Philip Glenister and internationally renowned car designer Ant Anstead are on a mission - to scour the barns and lock ups of Britain for wrecked treasures to bring to life. CLICKY This week they did a Escort Mexico, very good and well worth a watch, it's still available on 4OD. Rog.
  13. Had some 'yoofs' in a BMW drive next to me and give the thumbs up, passenger wound down his window and shouted 'is it a VR6 mate', I gave him a nod to which he shouted back 'awesome'. Made my day.
  14. Can't see it fetching the asking price, yes it's a nice car but is far from mint. Rog.
  15. Sure I've read somewhere that the design of the Corrado was originally meant to be the successor to the 944, I suppose that's why folk who like Corrado's also like the lines of the porker, they do have similar lines. Rog.
  16. I'm a deffo for this, I'm working Friday so will probably just do the sat, however wifey is suggesting making a weekend of it with her going shopping so I may be available for sun as well. Rog.
  17. Yep, I'm up for this, only down the road for me so no excuss for not going really. Rog.
  18. Sounds like the high beam relay has failed, does the blue led come on when you select high beam? if it does the stalk is in good order, also the fact that the dipped beam goes out suggests the stalk is good. Rog.
  19. Just had a chat with a very nice bloke at HIC, they actually quote from the same scheme as AF so the prices are very similar however they came back at £163 with a £650 excess (again no protected NCB) then £180 with £400 excess. My flux quote was 'funnily' £163 with a £650 excess, however I got clucky at that much excess and got a '£500 excess guarantee' (basically I pay the full excess but claim back £500 of it) which bought the price up to £199. So, about the same, HIC a little cheaper but it will cost me £25 to cancel my AF policy so I'll stay where I am. Next year HIC will get my trade, just because the bloke I spoke to knew what he was talking about and was very helpful even to the point of saying I should stay where I am due to the admin fee. Rog.
  20. Bugger, wish I read this earlier, I just renewed with Adrian Flux for £199, that's fully comp on a VR with mods declared (engine, exhaust, brakes and suspension) and 6000 mile limit but they couldn't protect my NCB at that price. Rog.
  21. As I understand it TPS is basically a supplier to the trade only, I know a few of us have managed to find a local branch that will (if they feel like it) sell to the general public but it's not guaranteed. So, I was wondering, maybe we (as a forum and owners club) should try and set up an account with TPS, it's got to be in their favour as it would open up a whole new customer base and obviously it would benefit us. What do the collective think. Rog.
  22. Nice one fella, Tris sent me a text with the details, looks like a good deal, almost worth me considering re-joining....lol Rog.
