  1. Fingers crossed for you - hope this does it!
  2. Thanks mate - appreciate that. I still plan to go along to some shows and will still be on here! If nothing else I try my best to regurgitate information or help people find old threads containing old solutions to problems so hopefully I'll still be of some use to folks. I was never exactly a trailblazer in actually fixing problems myself.. just using and re-sharing the knowledge of others.
  3. Yes - been thinking we're well overdue dinner. Give me about a month - pretty busy with a lot of stuff, but will try sort something soon?? :) I promise you whilst I'll always think the Corrado is fantastic and there will always be a place in my heart for it, I think I'm done with ownership for the forseeable future!
  4. VW really are twats. How can they even justify those kinds of prices. I don't know why they use every chance to sting the enthusiast community rather than nurture and support it.
  5. Great news all round I guess. Still a potentially bad bill to fix all the issues, but it'll drive like a new car with a lot of those issues resolved and new suspension!
  6. I think basically you'll want to do this... http://www.passatworld.com/forums/volkswagen-passat-b5-discussion/315456-how-resetting-sunroof-0-position.html In short, get the sunroof to the position you want it for closed / parked, then pull the motor out whilst leaving connected to the wiring harness, then operating the buttons to put it into the parked position, then attach it again. Should be in business :)
  7. Clip from the trailer here.. certainly looks and sounds like a VR6 :)
  8. It still gurgled a little the first couple of times in place, but got less and less each time. Subsequent times it's been fine!
  9. Send KIPVW a private message. He's got one of the best in the country that happens to be the colours you're after. Not sure if he's planning on selling, but I think he might for the right money.
  10. Yep - got a good stock currently. I'll PM you the details. Cheers.
  11. Whoever had the foresight (or just sheer good luck) to buy one of those must be laughing all the way to the bank.
  12. E-Type's are only going up and up in value.. must be worth a few quid now, that! Is it a V12?
  13. I'll never forget driving home down the country lanes from Goodwood back to the hotel, not realising the dynamo wasn't charging the battery and wondering why the headlights were like candles! It was ridiculous!! That was a cracking weekend though (despite having to get the Daimler recovered from the side of the M3 by the AA in order to get home.. that was a long day) - one of many great memories that wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for being a part of this forum & club.
  14. I had it for a while, but realised I didn't want that kind of responsibility. Didn't have the space (or knowledge) to be able to work on it when something broke! He had it back and ultimately decided to sell it after 24 years of ownership, as he fancied something a bit more modern / usable!
  15. It's not going to be anything as pricey as that unfortunately, but still something fun hopefully.
  16. I still owe you for the power steering pump I never fitted. I'd not forgotten I owed you.. just kept forgetting to do something about it! PM me your PayPal address mate and I'll transfer the remainder of what we agreed?
  17. Well, having been here since the very start with no break, I've seen lots of people come, go, and come back again! But whilst there will always be a very soft spot in my heart for these amazing cars, I just can't see me ever getting another one.

    Heater matrix.

I've said it before.. if I can do a heater matrix by myself, anyone can. I'm a clueless pillock when it comes to DIY work and aside from it being daunting, and time consuming it was a very straightforward process. I'd seriously consider doing it yourself.
  19. Don't worry - the Fiesta is going too! But it's been a fun two years with it. Had it broken into mid-January, and that ended up being quite a bill to put right so that's taken the sheen out of ownership of the Fiesta as they're extremely desirable with the scum :( Aiming to get something German again very soon.
  20. As some of you know, I put my car up for sale last year but found the response a bit overwhelming so quietly shelved that idea and instead I resigned myself to hanging onto the car, but hoping a chance for sale might come along. Chap on the forum was hunting a Corrado recently and was becoming disillusioned with the prices of VR6's. Something just seemed to resonate and I decided to drop him a PM and tell him about my car. He seemed interested, came to view it earlier this week, and I'm pleased to say we agreed a deal and he's left a deposit ahead of collecting it next week sometime. So that is, after a nearly continuous 15 years of Corrado ownership, the end for me. I've no plans to leave the forum at this time (sorry guys!) so will be sticking around, posting the usual garbage, and trying to help keep the place ticking along. I'll be making every effort to come to meets and things like rolling road days, etc. But I think I've gone as far on my Corrado journey as I was prepared to go. Thanks to all the brilliant people on this forum who've helped make ownership bearable.. whether it's technical tips to fix a problem, or sympathy when running into yet another hurdle :) Through both the forum and club I've made valued, and lifelong friends both here and in Germany - the Corrado was so much a part of my life, it's hard to even put into words. I've been on countless roadtrips, and just had the best time with likeminded folks. Thankfully I've been promised the keys to a number of Corrado's whenever I need to get a fix, so hopefully that'll sustain me! :) I'll leave it up to the new owner of my car as to whether they want to announce themselves. But from the impression I got in the sales process, he's a really decent guy with a passion for old VW's, and my car has gone onto someone who has the enthusiasm to tackle some of the problem spots and get her back to her best - I really couldn't be more happy with how it's all worked out. Picture of the old girl on sales day is attached. Cheers.
