    Headlight protectors

Jake.. I *might* have a set of the remanufactured type headlight protectors somewhere which you can have for not very much money. One of pair of clips on one side broke, but it still held on perfectly fine with the single clip. I just can't recall if I gave them away with my Corrado when I sold it, or whether they're in my bag of left over bits. I've also got a set of the VW OEM ones as per the eBay auction. Not in quite as good condition, but perfectly usable / decent. However seeing the price that the eBay ones are listed for, think I might get mine on eBay too and see what I can bag for those. Would entertain offers for them though if anyone was interested. Cheers.
  2. I'm not sure they're discontinued? Unless the one that VW Heritage were selling is a remanufactured part. Either way, stock of those seems a bit patchy, so this is worth grabbing and putting away for someone!
  3. Well, congratulations on the career change! I'm sure you'll be a big loss @ JMR.
  4. I always wanted one of these things. Superb little thing :) If I hadn't bought the 5 series, one of these would have been seriously tempting. Mate of mine had a first generation 172 and the only bad thing about it was the gearing was a little short meaning it was a bit loud on the motorway!
  5. Imagine a Corrado headlight switch.. but brand new.... that's pretty much what they look like ;) Anyway, pictures are attached!
  6. Enjoy! It's a magical place for sure. Not many better ways to spend your time, than a few days with your buddies eating German food, drinking German beer, and then getting some time in on the Nordschleife :)
  7. Pop on eBay for the bearing mate - plenty of vendors listing it. Done the job myself on my old VR quite a few years ago and it was easy enough.. just used a vice for pushing the old bearing out and new one in with appropriately sized sockets :)
  8. eBay link, so sticking in eBay and Misc.
  9. Nice! A set of unapplied decals! That'll help with the refurbishment :)
  10. They were only available in Europe I think, and not over here. So that won't help with finding out anything about them! :( Interestingly despite being a G60, looks as though you could get them painted in Flash Red rather than the usual Tornado for pre-facelift cars.. I guess these were run out models to drum up clearing out inventory of G60's ahead of them being replaced by the VR6. http://www.vwcorrado.net/index.php/corrado-sondermodelle/corrado-jet.html Will you be going back to the Estoril style alloys as well, in keeping with the totally OE finish? German brochure with the Jet in it also available on eBay currently: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen-Corrado-1991-92-German-Market-Sales-Brochure-16v-G60-Jet-VR6-/171743657854 Might be useful for some reference pictures, specs, etc!
  11. Agreed on the Subaru six-spokes! They look good.. remind me of the Speedline Comp2's I used to run on my G60!
  12. Wonder if this was NigelB's old Jet? Either way, great to see another one being saved!

    Keep it real

Exactly. Sold my Fiesta ST partly because of this. I know it's "just" a Fiesta but you wouldn't believe how popular they are with the scum.. they're getting nicked ALL the time. Came out one morning in January to find both my front windows put through on the car and the wing mirror kicked off. OBD port access door was open, but car not stolen for some reason. Found subsequently that at a previous service, someone from Ford had yanked the fuse for the OBD port and that was enough to confuse the scrotes, as presumably they plugged in their tool for coding a key / hotwiring the thing and nothing happened. I guess they put through the passenger window and booted the mirror off, out of protest at not being able to nick my car. Decided the car needed selling ASAP after that as they'd obviously know where it was and would just wait for me to repair it before having another go.. what's the point in that kind of attention for a sodding Fiesta!
  14. I need to do some more reading up on best practice for doing it at home with cans. Would like to be able to better tackle little repair jobs here and there myself.
  15. Are you just rattle canning it, or do you have a compressor / spray gun? Literally had my first go at a bit of a rust repair on the BMW last weekend and whilst the spot isn't rusty any more, I can't say much more complimentary about my spray work!
  16. Apologies - will see if I can still even login to my Imageshack account and find those pictures and re-host them..
  17. Good find! Only seen a handful of P reg Corrado's in all the years I've been into them. Rarer than Campaigns :D
  18. Heh - no, have a few random Corrado bits to sell. Not looking to make a return unfortunately!
  19. Think there's a bit of a pattern on this Sams Salvage guy... what is he smoking?!
  20. Just skimming eBay, as you do, and stumbled upon this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-CORRADO-REAR-SCRIPT-BADGE-VR6-16V-8V-G60-IN-DARK-GREY/272592079959?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D40656%26meid%3D15f30c1b98cc48468d9bec94bd1d13c3%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D6%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D262893121422 Corrado rear script badge. Painted, not chrome. Broken into three parts, but also missing a lug to secure it to the car. Yours for just £20. Unbelievable! Anyone find any more as crazy as this?!

    Hiya.....

Welcome board. The fuel rail is reasonably easy to get to and remove / replace so should be a reasonably easy first fix. Look forward to seeing some pictures and some project updates!
  22. Cheers! Sadly sold my Corrado since badgering you about this, but I do know someone who will be after at least 1 and more likely a couple of switches.

    Cream leather

Good price for cream leather, definitely. Looks pretty tidy too.
