Looks a very nice car, well done
-
Surely with all this level of trim it game with electric front recaro seats too. Any chance of a picture of those too please.

In wiki it says VW never sent vr6 to Japan as over 2.0 l and too much tax. So people imported their own according to the above link and RHD from UK very expensive.
-
Cubby hole, I think he meant.
-
Good suggestion fla. failing that I’ve removed standard shocks before without them, then taken them to bits off the car
-
Absolutely brilliant 😂😂😂 I think you ought to have a beer this afternoon
-
I wonder if it was for the Asian market ABV VR6s’ from Japan looks the same in the first photo
-
Plug and control unit on mine, no A/C on a 1992 VR6.
-
Johnson’s baby oil works well with rubber
-
It seems to rejuvenate old rubber if not too far gone and makes it easier to clean so black shite stops coming off it. Miracle stuff Keyo
-
Good for around the sunroof seal too. Stops it sticking to the opening when not In use over winter and makes all rubber stuff look quite new again if applied in time.

You’ve got to love a free easy fix. There often a lot more to it than a quick squirt will resolve.

But you have aftermarket slim fans fitted Fla, he wouldn’t to connect that to his existing fan set up, it won’t plug in. He needs that bit you cut off. 😉

Can you take a photo of the ends of the two plugs side by side so we can see what the difference is between the new and old. How much did you pay for the new loom and where did you get it from. I think you need to see the whole number on the side of you control unit to see what you have
-
Welcome to Corrado madness. There’s a plastic ignition switch that fits onto the bottom of the barrel and held on with a little screw. Pretty sure still available from the dealer. It may also be the barrel has gone sloppy, you have to drill a hole in the housing to get this out, with the new barrel infront of you it is obvious where. Try changing the switch first much easier.

Would they be fused independently or maybe the radio switches from one to the other with power from the radio. I too have no idea and only guessing
-
Unfortunately not all were powered, if the first photo is of your original aerial it’s not powered.

I used this early radiator sensor. https://www.bing.com/search?q=wahler+6017.95D&form=APIPH1&PC=APPL about £20 The Febi equivalent is cheaper aslo got it wrong about thermostat housing. You should have a brown one and that goes to black, part number in the guide link above. Not sure of the difference in American to European loom, if it’s got the right plugs on and wires are going to right places you’d think you’d be good. I think there’s a bit more to deleting the ac wiring than that loom though.
-
The two pin plug in your photo may be for the black plug in the thermostat housing. Mine has the same colour wires and plug going there and the yellow sensor swaps to a Brown I think
-
The last picture is of a later style radiator sender, I’m guessing this is off your loom. I the photo before last the three wire plug is for earlier style rad sender. Both three pin and doing the same thing just a different shaped plug. not really sure but I think the the main relay/controller is different for A/C cars and one of the sensors in the thermostat housing is also specific to A/C cars. That two pin plug might be for the expansion tank. I think all VR6 were 3 stage fan as mine is an early facelift 1992 and had 3 stage set up with that rad sensor plug you have. have a read of this.

Don’t envy you with that although I have my own sill woes. Mines not rusty just the sill lips crushed a bit further back where some twit has jacked it up without a V block or similar. In fact it’s amazing how many places want to jack the car up on the sill lip, I’ve just been taking the wheels in for years because of that.
-
Aha ha I had my suspicions, petty rust that, shame you can’t get the panel anymore that has that knuckle on, it was pretty cheap when available compared to other stuff. I wouldn’t really want a lot of filler down there as it’ll chip with the stones coming up off the wheel, several coats of under seal might be better for it,
-
It happens. Funny though, thanks for sharing that Easy. can I ask what’s going on with the front of the passenger sill, it looks strangely like an ice cream.
-
You have to wonder why it burnt the original plug too, that shouldn’t have happened

Standard set up on mine but with Brembo grooved discs and the ferodo pads below. A lot more stopping power and less fade
