  2. It was painted by a guy who runs a shop near me with a gun. He puts plenty of clear on so it can be made to look nice given time. I don’t think he’s had them in an oven after so the paint shrinks over time. Everything I’ve had done by him over the last couple of years has done it and ended with a finish similar to the first photo. The finish was achieved with 1500 grit wet and dry 2nd photo and 3 stage polish to achieve the mirror finish 3rd photo. I’ll take a photo of the stuff I used for polishing later.
  3. Wet sanded the bumper top and sides. Looks much better. There was some heavy shrinkage of the new paint I had done on the new bumper and Passenger wing the wing had a dent in and the start of rust on the bottom of it. The work was about 12 months ago so hoping it’s fully cured now but just goes to show what can be done with poorly looking paint. I will say though, I find it very tedious, I don’t think I could do it for a living. Going to put it all back together tomorrow and test drive.
  4. Drive shafts done. Been flatting and polishing wing and bumper due to paint shrinkage so haven’t been for a test yet, should be tomorrow. Have you thought any about ceramic coating when it’s done ? I’ve got a spare rear spoiler you can have if you want to get one painted at the same time and try the brake light LED thing. Can’t see you missed anything
  5. Mine was supposed to go for paint this year, probably only have the passenger rear wing done now. If you don’t slow down you may end up with a mot this year.

  7. The joint I’ve put to on is the gear box joint and is all steel, it certainly seems to be good to go. I did manage to get the boot clip thing on but it took another pair of hands
  8. I’ll see how this one goes for now, I’ll turn the boost down a bit 😉. I’ve just smoke tinted mine with the fogs while I’ve got the bumper off for a bit of flatting and buffing, which should happen tomorrow now I can get the car out of the garage. Also going to change my lip spoiler as I’m going to run standard speedlines for a bit which I’ve had refurbed with new tyres sitting around for 6 weeks. I’ve also got some brake duct vents and an early bumper grill to fit that I’ve had for ages.
  9. It does look the part matey. We’ll see how good it is when it hits the road which shouldn’t be long now It’s a J&R one, came in at an eye watering £17 delivered. Wouldn’t normally buy one of the cheapest on the market but from what I can gather if it starts off good they are fairly trouble free. Hopefully given time I can give it a good review. If not I’ve got to come up with something else but at least I can move the car about under it’s own power now which I couldn’t do yesterday.
  10. After being messed about by a drive shaft seller I’ve decided to just change the cv joint for how much it cost, I figured it was worth a try after the shenanigans with carsparesdirect. I did think to upgrade as you said Keyo but I figured I’d rather the shaft than the box as that costs a lot more. Not that bad a job to be honest.

  13. Not touched the car for nearly 4 weeks since I got recovered after loosing drive on the way home, put it in the garage in disgust. Anyway after some calming and time doing housey stuff I’m missing the beast so yesterday pushed it out of the garage for a wash and back in and today I’ve jacked it up to diagnose the problem. As luck would have it, it isn’t total destruction of my 10 month refurbished Quaif lsd box. It is however total destruction of the drivers UJ on the drive shaft. So need to replace the drive shaft. Anybody had any experience of drive shaft madness from firms such as J and M or any other firm. Not sure about a 2nd hand eBay item, or maybe someone on here has a known good one they don’t want anymore. cheers guys

  16. They are very expensive for what they are anyway fen. They get cracked with people leaning in the wrong place when looking in the engine bay, I didn’t know nothing about that till someone broke mine, I’ve struggled like hell fo a year to get a really good one, but thanks to Keyo’s spot a couple of weeks ago I now have a good standard one as well as a couple of spares if some breaks my new one.
  17. It is mate yes. But the smudge marks on it won’t come off, so was thinking of spaying it up, apart from that it’s pretty good.

  19. I bought that ford part for my previous car with no problems, was the only only one could find. It’s the same part with a ford logo on it and a dealer price to match £50 I think.
  20. Sticking could be a cause of lack of grease on the hold/release mechanism in the front panel and the pins that go into them on the bonnet
  21. I know what you mean, I don’t like any sort of job that involves wires, I have to build myself up to it.
  22. I bought one of these off eBay a while ago as well and exactly the same colours although not brand new, I’ll get some pics up tomorrow.
