  1. They're about £25 from VW too! I bought a braided earth cable from eBay to almost the exact dimensions for about £6 delivered. I had to drill out the mount points slightly, then just covered it in heatshrink, and it looks perfect. :thumbleft:

    Abs

Go to a quiet road with the system working, and give it a good stomp on the brakes a few times to activate the ABS. Apparently the valves can become gummed up after a while, and a good stomping on them gets them moving. Worth a try, and its free! The pumps aren't particularly difficult to replace, and the unions should come off relatively easily if you use a proper brake nut spanner. (11mm and 1 x 13mm). The push fit pipes from the reservoir on the other hand can be a bit of a pig, and bear in mind you'll have to bleed it all up afterward! There is a place that reconditions them (BBA RAMMAN?) for around £150 iirc, and you get a lifetime warrenty too. I'd certainly suggest clearing the code with VCDS after slamming the brakes on a few times, then seeing what happens. If it comes on again, then look into diagnosing properly though.
  3. I will do if you can wait til probably next January!
  4. Oooh, images that aren't blocked for once! Looks cracking Phil, top job that man! :thumbleft:
  5. Bit of a ball ache replacing the lot Wayne. It runs along the top of the passenger side of the roof, down the A pillar, and along the dash support below the windscreen. It runs underneath the foam so it'll be hard to just pull it out too.
  6. I put mine in the Garage before I went, I didn't say who's garage though......................... Nah not really, he would have commented how poorly it poorly it rode, and put the rest of the general public off for life it it was mine!
  7. It adds on the extra if you tick buyer pays fees
  8. Let me see what I can do, may be able to sort something out.........
  9. Dave, I'm so sorry mate, I genuinely completely forgot!
  10. I'm off working abroad until December Chuggs. Back in August for a couple of weeks but not sure it'll be worth taxing it for the month just for the sake of it.
  11. Bye for now car............. :(
  12. Congrats on your purchase! Get some pics up as soon as you can! :thumbleft:
  13. Good budget and good attitude to what you want. Good luck with your search mate, even if you have dismissed the best colour Storm!
  14. The one in mine is originally out of my Valver too. 1990 was Blue if they are different. No idea why people pay so much on ebay for an original one. The contents of mine is still all in the original selophane wrapping, but its well out of date regardless. As mentioned, new ones are around £25 and exactly the same shape/size to fit too.
  15. It's hard to understand how you would feel unless it happens to you I guess. I certainly would never put these thieves on a pedestal, but as mentioned, the media tend to raise them up a bit and people get drawn in by it. I've been lucky in that the only thing I've ever had stolen was a hedge trimmer and power drill from the garden shed. If it was something I truly cared about which may have been the case - not to mention valuable in a safety deposit box, that you'd also entrusted to a company, and pay for the privilege too, I can't imagine how upset and frustrated I'd be.
  16. Not been updated for 2 years Wayne. But in answer to your question, yes that's the rear sunroof drain.
  17. I use Gliptone which is pretty good. The cleaner is a little gloopy so you tend to use more than needed, but the conditioner is very good. I also have some of the furniture clinic conditioner which is also very good, and gives you long lasting leather smell! The Gliptone ones I have are 250ml, and the will give you around 5 full applications, with 1 clean and 2 condition each application.
  18. Very nice, welcome to the forum!
  19. Release bearing is sold separately in most cases unless stated Michael. Depending how you want to go with this one (keeping genuine), LUK or Sachs release bearings can be had very cheaply - less than £15.
  20. Think of that as an added bonus, you can spend on the car without the whine in your ear! Haha!
  21. Why dismiss classic Green? It is the best colour after all.......
  22. OK I'll get my coat........ Sorry, just assumed it was the same as the mk3 Golf 8v I had.
