  1. Hi Daren, sorry mate that was one of the parts I had to replace. I have the drivers side but no good to you I'm afraid mate.
  2. I've got an aqua blue vr6 thats a bit of a project, but it's yours for less than half of what you're willing to pay........ Where are you located?
  3. I've just fixed my mechanism. I got a cheap mk3 Golf replacement, but you can't use the original metal panel as the roof trim won't raise when you use the tilt function. Mine was doing the same thing as is in the link to the Corrado club of Canada in the wiki, and raising when sliding forward. I replaced the middle and rear locking parts with the ones from the Golf mech, and it now works perfectly. Well, it would if my motor wasn't tits as well! Lol
  4. Fair enough mate, looks ace though! :thumbleft:
  5. Brilliant! Welcome back Daren - although you never really went away! Look forward to seeing this mate! :thumbleft:
  6. Bottom hose should stay cold until at full operating temp (90 degrees). If it was stuck closed, you'd have overheating problems. Just leave it running for 10 mins on the drive and it should be up to temp.
  7. It's mk4 rear calipers used for upgrade chuggs. Discs and pads not strictly necessary, but worth replacing if your doing the calipers. There's a thread in the wiki section with part numbers of what's needed.
  8. Welcome Paul! Classic Green Storm, top of the pile in my opinion! :smug: :thumbleft:
  9. Cars registered before 1st March 2001 were priced on engine size. Anything 1.6 litre and above is £230 PA. So in answer to your question, no. All Corrados are the same. Anything after March 2001 is based on emissions
  10. Don't try to do it all in one go mate. You've spent a fortune already, and it gets insane expensive if you try to do everything. Inevitably corners get cut a little when this happens too. Do what you can, enjoy it for the summer, then get back to it next winter for running gear. :thumbleft:
  11. Guys, it's genuinely the innards of a rad core. Possibly radiator but more likely heater matrix. I cut an old one open once to see if it was clogged up, and these spirals were running through the cores. I've never seen or heard of them coming out like that though!
  12. Those are the innards of the heater matrix or radiator! Never seen that before lol!
  13. They should both be shiny chrome finish. Sounds like the reflective coating has broken down on one causing it to go dull. There are companies that can re-coat them but it's a tad expensive. It's something most of us will have to think about shortly though as 20-25 year old cars will really need it doing before long. A good condition replacement will suffice in the interim though and if your MOT is due, it's probably your best option for now mate.
  14. Aqua Blue Valver at ERB Motors Portsmouth, in for accident damage/paint. If its anyone on here, I've just had mine in there for a full respray. Did an excellent job! :thumbleft:
  15. Remove the binnicle surround, remove two screws (one either side of the clocks) and it'll tilt forward. The lamps are accessed from the back, so just quarter twist and remove. Easy peasy! :thumbleft:
  16. Wasn't bad. Goes to show what you need to do to get on in the world though. The Welsh guy who wouldn't swat up out of working hours for a sale and a commission worth probably more than he earns in a week, just goes to show the level of commitment some have. Other guy at least adapted to his surroundings which proves why one is flogging cars worth 2k, and the other flogging cars worth 200k.
  17. One headache out of the way then Max! On to the next....................
  18. Book figures are 8.2 litres, 8.6 with A/C. I always use 2 x 1.5L bottles of whichever variant antifreeze VW are currently at. As Wompa says G13 is the most current. Mixture info is on the back of the bottle but at that ratio it's more than enough for UK temperature lows.
  19. As above, heritage have a link on the website for classic parts. If you use that to order the part, you won't get done by shipping charges. As mentioned though they only receive bulk orders so may take a few weeks before it arrives at heritage and they dispatch it to you.
  20. I didn't think mine needed paint, but I heard that some bloke from Ull was getting his resprayed so didn't want to be outdone..........:cuckoo:
  21. Stop taking the Mickey!..................I'll get my coat.
  22. I'm a real man, I've honestly never had flu. Had a bit of a cold once or twice that has made me feel grotty and light headed for a day or 2, but never anything more serious.
  23. Classic parts is a part of VW. If the dealership won't help you, you can buy direct but you'll have to pay a hefty delivery charge. Go to VW heritage and get them through there. That way, heritage absorb the postage price amongst their other stuff and you should get them a bit cheaper. Only problem is that it may take a few weeks to arrive.
  24. If you're removing the bumper, you'll have to remove the fogs and indicators to disconnect them anyway mate
