  1. Delivered and fitted just now. Loom is excellently made I must say. I would have made one myself, but at this price I couldn't have done it much cheaper with the OE connectors. My only gripe is that I could have done with maybe an inch extra on the negative cables to the battery spade. Would have helped neaten up the routing of the cable is all. I also wrapped the whole thing in loom tape rather than having the gaps, but that's just my preference and not a gripe at the workmanship - which is top class. Overall I'm extremely pleased with it, and would certainly recommend to anyone thinking of buying one. :thumbleft:
  2. Thanks all, not such a great first drive out though! Some friggin woman decided she could also fit her A4 down the car lined road, which was only really wide enough for one car and it was my right of way! As such............. It was either that or the wing. She nonchalantly just drove on without realising what she'd done. I seriously felt like crying. It was just a kiss so not all the way round and I had to brake pretty hard to avoid her front bumper too, so luckily wasn't going too fast. I've calmed down a bit now, but felt like spinning round and going after her. Luckily my daughter was in the car so thought better of it, but I'm still pretty angry tbh.
  3. Woop Woop! She passed! A couple of advisories I wasn't expecting, and a couple of advisories I was, but nothing major. The MOT tester I take it to is a proper anal retentive. Its only £25 for the MOT, so I think he tries everything to make a bit more by getting work done that doesn't necessarily need it. :hitler: He is very thorough though so not a bad thing in some respects. Ones I was expectiong: * O/S front tire worn on inner edge. - Seriously needs geometry sorting tbh, I'll get both fronts changed at the same time even though there's about 5mm tread across the rest of both tyres. * Slight play in O/S and N/S rear wheel bearings. - I had to take the disks off to replace the ABS sensors, and I'm always over cautious when putting them back on as I tightened one too much once and destroyed the bearing and stub axle as it expanded when hot! I'll nip em both up a bit more. Ones I wasn't expecting: * Two brake pipes rusty at the compensator. - They're not at all bad tbh. A quick wire brush and they'd be good. - Note about tester above. * One engine mount bolt slightly loose. - * N/S and O/S track rod end covers are perished and cracked but still serviceable. - Didn't notice that, so I'll investigate a bit further I think. * Slight play in the O/S front lower swivel - Ball joint? I'll check those out too, but the front axle will be refurbished next winter so they'll be replaced anyway, including track rods and ends etc...... Anyway, taxed now so I'm off for a drive!
  4. Well she's in. Out of my hands now.
  5. Cant believe they just abandoned them. Such a shame and the Esprit was the only one that had absolutely no issues at all!
  6. Cheers Rob, fingers crossed! I'm always nervous about it though, theres just too many things that I can't test and are out of my control.
  7. Pedal position sensor changed, and I now have working ABS for the first time in my ownership! Turns out that someone in the past had chopped off the connector for it, and just soldered the bare wires to the pins and stuck a load of silicon sealant in the hole! The sensor is actually good having removed and tested it, one of the soldered wires had just come away. Serves me right for taking a short cut when replacing the whole loom. I cut the cables on the N/S above the pump, and soldered the new one on from there. If I'd have tried separating it all going across the bulkhead, I would have seen. All pre-MOT checks done and all seems well, we'll find out at 10 am tomorrow.....................:help: I did notice one anomaly today though, my MFA stalk is playing silly buggers. Its stuck on MFA 2, and the button isn't working. It is however changing function by using the slide switch and pushing to the MFA 1 reset position..........
  8. Jamie, agreed. Mic, except for a Mach 1
  9. Just a quick update, I've not received a reply from them via email, so I'll give em a call in the new year.
  10. Watched it last night. Anyone else got a real hankering for an Esprit V8 now! lol
  11. Ah yeah that's him. Cheers Ross! :thumbleft:
  12. My apologies then Ross, I must have been thinking of someone else.
  13. Indeed. In fact, 215 would be even better. 205 would give a fair bit too much stretch actually.
  14. And Ross, wasn't it you that had 2 blow outs due to dangerous amounts of stretch?
  15. I'd go minimum 205/50. 195 is way too thin for 8j. 205 were originally fitted to standard wheels only 6.5j so 205 will give a touch of stretch but will be safe. 195 will be dangerous imo.
  16. I ordered one earlier following the link. I just put a note on the order stating I was a member here. Been meaning to get one for ages but thought it best to order one now if I'll be using the car soon.
  17. Rear sensors follow front to back on the passenger side, then connect to the sensors under the rear seats. The sensors have an attached grommet to seal as it comes through the floor just behind the connection points. Inside the bay it goes through the firewall on the passenger side, right front sensor and pedal position sensor followeth firewall to the right, left front sensor goes up the turret, two connectors for the pump, and another for the resistor, the supply wires direct to the battery.
  18. Not too much this year, a keyboard, fisherprice track, a Police ride on bike all being enjoyed by a chocolate covered baby And the epic build! Hotwheels loop the loop, it's ace! Yes I know it needs moving right a bit........ Show us your build!
  19. My holder kept falling out. I drilled a small hole in the bracket bit that sits behind the ashtray and put a small interior screw in it to secure. Can't see the additional screw as that's hidden behind the ashtray case too.

I thought exactly the same thing! Haha... These rich Arabs eh!
  21. Merry Xmas all, better get to bed before Santa arrives!
  22. Disconnect the alarm. It may or may not be the problem but it'll rule it out. Worth cleaning up all earth points though, and tilt the fuse box forward and make sure the connectors are all in properly. They should be locked in place by a plastic bar that pushes in on the right hand side of the box.
  23. Thanks Ian. Been about 4 weeks now, they didn't have any idea how long they would be when I phoned Friday so it just a waiting game I suppose.
  24. Thanks Jim, that a good idea actually, I'll pick some up and use that as a temporary measure. :thumbleft:
