  2. I could really use a set too. My passenger side window is driving me nuts after only being back on the road a day! I have to crack it open very slightly to stop it rattling like mad!
  3. Yeah I have noticed this. It's relatively recently that numbers have really dropped off though. Even less than 2 years ago there were probably two dozen at a time. EBay seems pretty consistent though, but there's generally very low priced cars, or very high priced ones. I think those in the middle are beginning to really thin out now. Either they are on the verge of, or fit for the scrappy, or they are well cared for low mileage examples.
  4. Yeah just terminate the outlet on the inlet manifold, or you end up with oil mist everywhere.
  5. Cheers Rob. I had to re-colour a pair of B pillars and a mk4 Golf handbrake that were black which took a few more base coats, but came out well in the end. I didn't fit the handbrake though, as I'd forgotten mine had been previously welded to within an inch of its life in place! I'll have to grind it off to fit, but I'm having second thoughts now. Reason for possibly changing is that my triangle is knackered. Its obsolete from the dealer, and I've only seen one come up for sale in probably a year of looking, and that wasn't in much better knick than mine.
  6. :thumbleft: Its better in the flesh mate. You can have a good look next w.end!
  7. Provisionally sold to radovirgin pending collection/payment.
  8. Cheers mate. Interior is the same one as when I got it (first lot of pics), but I've had new leather sewn in on the bolsters (the baggy bit which I need to pull tighter still), and I just used the furniture clinic restoration kit. As you said its just rub down and remove some colour, then spray on the dye and seal. Very easy to do, if a bit time consuming, but well worth the effort imo.
  9. She's home! Got the interior in today. A few little bits I wanted to do along the way that didn't get done due to having itchy feet, but nothing major and I'll have chance to do them next week. Still needs a good clean though! Gave it a little blast, but didn't leave until 5pm so nowhere to go that was light with traffic to get a decent head of steam up. Sat idling on on the drive for half an hour afterwards, and checked vagcom which also reported no problems. My drivers window isn't responding now though, so I'll investigate that soon. Oil and water temps were all spot on and fans kick in as they should. Idle is good, and brakes feel terrible after not being used to them for a while! Anyway some interior pics, including some when I got the car for good measure. :smug: Before. After.
  10. Not a problem mate. Pretty sure it's genuine, off a 2.8 lump I picked up for parts. If you want to Pm me your number, I'll send you the pics at lunch time.
  11. I've got one Tom. £25 posted Ok? I'll get a pic this afternoon if you like, but iirc theres pretty much zero scraping on the bottom.
  12. Blue Magnecor 8mm VR6 HT leads Unknown age but perfect working order. Removed to be replaced by a set of standard black ones. They are a coilpack set, although I do have a standard black king lead I'll throw in for dizzy application. These will fit inside the plastic guides with a bit of force, or some fine filing of the plastic. Any questions, fire away. Cheers, Sean. 13. I'm sure it will be mate. Nothing to loose, and you may well surprise yourself mate!! :thumbleft:
  14. bad luck mate, good to hear your getting it sorted before it goes too far though. Can't wait to finally see it soon!
  15. No, I prefer that pic!
  16. That rad support skirt look like it's in dire need of blasting and coating. Well worth getting done and probably far cheaper than you might think. I got mine along with cross member, rad fan shroud, bonnet prop, and all engine bay brackets blasted and nylon coated for £100. Would have been £60 for standard powder coat.
  17. Greenlight quoted me £298 as it happens. That was a standard policy (not classic which the one I've taken is) and mirrors ncb on the daily so you can also accrue ncb, with no mileage limitations. It didn't include any good extras like windscreen, legal, etc etc.......
  18. I'd still be interested seeing one with these running 17" wheels. I think with a decent offset they'd still look good.
  19. I'm 31 mate. Driving 7 years, 6 years ncb but it's on the daily so not taken into account. 3 points for speeding 3 1/2 years ago, and a non fault accident almost two years ago. All mods declared and no fee for up to 5 future mods. They said £210 at first which was still better than anyone else, but I said I was waiting on a couple more call backs. They said they couldn't guarantee the price if I phoned back tomorrow, so what would it take for me to agree then. I said if they could do it for under 200 I'd pay now. They contacted the underwriter who the insurance is with, and came back with £198, so I paid up. Was chuffed to bits with it tbh!
  20. Cheers James. Ben, wheels are a little scruffy tbh, but they'll be getting refurbished when it goes in for respray. I'll get some photos when the interior is back in, but I've gotta say it looks amazing! A couple of small imperfections, but a damn good effort for a diy job in a bit of a dusty workshop if I do say so myself. :smug: Sorted insurance today too. Adrian flux, 4k mileage limit, FC with all option except recovery (already with RAC) and key cover, £150 excess, total annual price; £198. Tax tomorrow then ready for blast on Wednesday.
  21. Is the abs loom for a vr6 and intact and uncut? I assume this is full loom for pump/abs ecu/abs light/fuse box? If so, how much posted please mate.
  22. For best sound quality, use component rather than coaxial type speakers. They have their own crossover so split mid/high range accordingly, rather than sending all sound to the same speaker to split two/three ways in the case of coaxial. Sound definition is much better with components, though you obviously get what you pay for. £25 halfords jobbies are miles apart from good quality components. Hertz, kappa infinity, or focal are all good quality speakers in 13cm/5.25" for door speakers, without having to chop up the door pod. Standard size is 4" iirc but the 5.25" will fit as above.
  23. That's who's VR I was referring to in the above post Dave. It's currently in the for sale section with pics, but he runs standard speedlines.
  24. Always good to have the info, I'm sure someone will be interested, even if it's just where to splice into the current loom. Get it up!
  25. I assume you mean the dash speakers? They are the tweeters and are actually quite large, not entirely sure what size tbh but not standard tweet size anyway. Think there are a few sets on eBay which may detail size. Check Nokia dash tweeters and it should come up with something. Yeah they drop in from above. Four screws to hold in place, then grille over the top. The two screws closest the screen are a royal pain unless you have a right angle screwdriver. The centre bit is just trim, not a speaker unfortunately.
