If you bought it online Rob, you can see purchase history by each order on your profile. That's a ****ter mate. I know only one side is available as original as well, I think I bought mine from heritage so will have to check. Hope you get it sorted mate

The body of the Piston looks in decent shape so I wouldn't be concerned. A light rub with 1000 grit will remove any surface rust if you are, and a light mist with brake fluid before reassembly should be sufficient for a good seal. Check the rubber seals haven't hardened as well

Test it on a quiet duel carriageway. Get to about 40 in second gear and hold it there for a few seconds. You can almost hear the anticipation in the engine and its pretty quiet, then just plant your right foot and it screams! Sound phenomenal!

Looks good Rob. Have you had a chance to go for a blast with the BMC fitted yet? I wouldn't go back to a standard airbox in my ownership after having one fitted. Sound amazing!

The warm start issue is quite common, and similar on my car with 150k too though it always starts. This has been apparent on cars with much lower mileage as well. Some have changed the temp sensors, the fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump (not sure if its still available anymore to be honest), and also put non return valves on the out line near the pump with varying degrees of success. You could try all of those which will set you back a fair amount of money, or just accept it as a "Corrado nuance" as it may or may not make a difference. WRT the cold start, revs will generally raise to around 1100 rpm initially, but settle within a second or 2 to about 900 rpm whilst cold. After a minute or so the idle should settle between 6-700 rpm which is good. There are a few factors which could affect what you think is a rough idle. Not withstanding mechanical faults, but things like worn engine mounts, aftermarket exhaust, slight exhaust leaks or even hoses not secured in clips could all cause resonance at certain levels. Engines have a natural resonance point as you may have witnessed when increasing through the revs, you can feel the car "shake" a little more at a certain point. All those factors could be the cause of a natural point where the vibrations are most apparent. The interior may have also been out at certain points in the cars life, and in most cases the felt lining on trim has come away, or various securing screws etc haven't been put back in which could also be the cause. This is extremely common and rattly interiors are pretty much the norm in Corrados these days!

I think it's a load of bollocks that they have to implement it, but I can't say I disagree with the reasoning. It's called moderation. I'm not particularly slim but I don't gorge on sugary foods, and I've instilled enough discipline in my kids so as they don't either most of the time. (They have the last week on Easter eggs but I won't deprive them of that childhood treat). This is what it boils down to though, obesity in children, and the only people I blame are the parents. The highest affected are low income families who buy high calorie ready meals as they are so cheap, and also give in to their kids allowing them to eat sweets and drink sugary drinks just for a quiet life. As a family we eat out twice a month where the kids are allowed a fizzy drink if they want, though they usually have orange juice and still have water with their meal. Friday night is pizza and movie night where they're allowed a cookie or ice cream, and any other night they have yoghurt for desert. Water or squash is all they drink bar the odd hot chocolate. Both my kids are slim and athletic as they are encouraged to run around, and both enjoy fruit and veg. They've been educated on the benefits of eating healthy, exercising, and only eating sugary and fatty foods in moderation. The sugar tax is just the first step in reducing childhood obesity, so Whilst I sympathise slightly with low income families as this is who it will affect most in the long run, vegetables are dead cheap and you can make a good meal with little else, but sugary drinks simply don't need to exist.

Did you change the CV joints Rob? Worth making sure the inners CV joint bolts are tight to the cups. When the Wifes beemer had the clutch changed the garage didn't do the prop shaft bolts up properly and it knocked when pulling away. By the time I'd pulled the undertrays off to see what was going on, 2 had come out and were rattling around in there, and the rest were bent!

Ah right, its unfortunately quite common where lazy painters haven't removed the strips. It could be wet sanded I suppose to flatten it at the edges, but in all honesty it probably won't change the fact that the colour is slightly different. It may not be overly noticeable but it'll catch the light in one direction and you'll notice it immediately, which can be very frustrating and you'll know its there so can be quite annoying!

Yeah there are pins on the seat at the bottom (door card side) too. once they're released at the top, you should be able to pull the seat up to release the hook at the bottom.

IIRC you pull them up. They are on a hook and pin like the door catch mate.

Worth re-soldering the connector pins too as they often dry out and break off/flap about too.

Prices have almost doubled in the last 5 years. I think back then they were at rock bottom. I don't think they'll go up much more now, but there will be slight fluctuations depending on time of year. Spring is pretty much here now (though its hard to tell!), so prices will start going up a tad and more will come to market over the next few months.

Its probably a mixture of slightly bleached paint under the adhesive, and dulled paint where its exposed everywhere else. A good machine polish by a pro will bring them both much more into line I reckon, and will have the whole car looking mint. Worth a thought, and a single stage can probably be h for the same price as a door being painted.
