  1. Matt, yeah they are on the correct side with bleed nipples to the top mate, I did stop for a second to think which side they should go on when fitting them though! Daren, that's a pain! All back together just to pull it all apart again! That's disappointing. TBH, I'll probably just give it to the test centre to bleed then they can pass it there and then. I don't have the enthusiasm to go through the whole palarva again, although it was easy when I swapped all the hoses for braided last time on this one. I had an utter mare with the aqua blue one I sold on though so it's put me off. Think I'll just leave it to those with a proper pressure bleeder!
  2. Drop the passenger undertray and lift up the carpet. Stick your head in there and get someone to use a hose around it. Could be sunroof drain leaking down the A pillar trim, a poorly fitted windscreen, door seal or wing mirror seal, as well as the scuttle cover as mentioned. Worth checking it out whilst you're waiting for a new one to arrive.
  3. If it's the wrong way round it's not a 5 minute job. Rear subframe needs to be dropped down a bit to get it out and flip it. The ARB should just push up though if it's just the drop links the wrong way. They're meant to hang down to the hub rather than point up.
  4. Fitted the mk4 calipers today but I'm having a mare bleeding them again. Got better the 2nd or 3rd time round but still not good enough. I'll try again in a couple of days with the eezibleed and I'll rope the missus in if I have to, but fed up with it now so if it's not sorted after that, I'll be paying someone to do it. Also just ordered a Golf v5 starter motor as mine is getting worse. I can see myself being stranded somewhere if it's not changed soon. Geometry is way off as well but I'm putting it off for a couple of weeks until I fit the suspension, (Have everything I need now to bolt em straight on) then I'll be calling JMR for a trip down there to get it sorted. Ahhh back into the fold, I remember enjoying all this before!
  5. Oh dear. That'd be timing out then.......

    Wow!

I'm planning on fixing it I'm afraid Fraser. It's cut along the bottom where it's bee removed incorrectly (same as my original) but I'm hoping to plastic weld it. If you're still after one when I get round to it you can have my original if you want mate.
  7. 195s are fine mate. A lot of people fit them now anyway as they're much cheaper as the 205s are much less common in 15". I believe the earlier (or possibly later.....) vr6 was fitted with 195 as standard. Either way there was a switchover mid run of the model so there's nothing to worry about at all.
  8. Yeah I'd put it the right way, no idea why it would be flipped down but I'd imagine it's more likely to rub that way. I wouldn't remove it altogether either, theres a reason almost every production car has one.
  9. Someone else did it and put some pics up at the time mine was stripped down which gave me the idea, so I can't take all the credit.........
  10. No don't do that! Swap with me instead! :norty::norty:
  11. Look s cracking! Can't beat a good detailing, just wish I had the motivation to do mine! Keeping yourself busy though and it's good there is nothing major required. Keep up the good work! :thumbleft:
  12. I used heat reflecting tape (tin foil like stuff) on the flaps Chris, with some draft excluded/door foam - available from all good diy stores, and some crap one as well!
  13. Looks superb! I like Adrian, he makes me chuckle.............
  14. I have these wheels and love them! Much better than before, just be careful with them as I had mine refurbished last year, and the first day back on the road and a woman decided she could fit down a car lined road with my right of way. I was going slowly but still kissed the kurb avoiding her. Needless to say I was raging, but she carried on as if nothing had happened and didn't even a knowledge me! :censored:

    Wow!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-CORRADO-CREAM-BEIGE-HAND-BRAKE-HANDLE-TRIM-COVER-VR6-16V-G60-8V-535-711-463-/272111637425?hash=item3f5b1e13b1:g:QlgAAOSwLnlWoMAh If anyone is willing to pay this, I have one in much better condition. PM me!!!!!
  16. Not sure to be honest mate. Just make sure you key the surface of the shocks so it adheres properly or it'll flake off. Hammerite smooth black or similar will probably do the job though and widely available.
  17. Look forward to the underside envy pics Rob!
  18. I don't know tbh mate, I may be exaggerating a bit with the price! I can't remember where it was I saw them but like I said, I simply couldn't see the use for it so was a tight arse and didn't bother!
  19. I thought the same when I did mine Rob. I couldn't bring myself to buy a new one as the old one had completely rotted off, and I think it was about £35 for a piece of tin that I couldn't work out its function anyway!
  20. TBF, it's probably my fault in that they've been sat with the handbrake on for 10 months.
  21. So, just had the MOT but it failed unfortunately. Rear brake and handbrake efficiency, both linked to the calipers I think. I've got a set of mk4 calipers and conversion hoses I've had for quite a while, so I'll get them on and should have a clean ticket hopefully. 1 advisory was O/S/R brake pipe slightly corroded, so a wire wheel on the Dremel and some stone chip should sort that until I get around to replacing all the pipes eventually.
  22. Have a look around hose connection points. The water may be evaporating off if the engine bay is hot, but you'll have a pink/white Crystal type substance left over which is the antifreeze. Other than that, thermostat housing or radiator are worth investigating further. Try to get you head around them all and underneath whilst the engine is running and up to temp so the system is pressurised, as that's the best time to notice anything amiss.
  23. Yeah just gently prise it off. There's a little toothed metal clip that keeps it tight, so don't lose it as it has a habit of springing off.
  24. I was looking at the V5 starter motor the other day, as mine occasionally clunks so think it's on its way out. The V5 one is a direct replacement and the only difference I can see, it the VR starter is rated at 1.7 kilowatts whereas the V5 is rated 2 kW output. I've heard they're like little turbines starting it and much better than standard, so it's the way I'll be going.
  25. Changing the heater matrix will only make a difference if it's leaking or very blocked, and takes a long time to warm the car. Someone mentioned a kampa damp buster the other day which looks excellent, so may well be worth the investment.
