  1. What bits formed the repair kit? I bought a really cheap cassette from the scrappy for a mk3 Golf, stripped it down and swapped the broken parts out. The only bit that is different is the front slider, as the Corrado one has the hook for the tilt of the interior trim. Mine is now perfect!
  2. Yeah standard ones are much more compliant, and will last far longer. I don't know why people bother with polybushes, all I ever hear is how they are trashed within months of being fitted. For track purposes I suppose its fair enough, but with the state of our roads, they just don't re-form where they're stretched so much and so often.
  3. I really wouldn't bother with the subframe bushes. They don't seem to last very long at all! With the VT mounts, I'd say go for it with the front, possibly the rear, but don't bother with the Gearbox mount. Theres no real weight on the GB mount, so all it does by getting harder ones is transfer noise and vibration into the cabin. I have all 3 VT mounts on mine, and I'll be replacing the GB one for standard shortly.
  4. Thanks Rob & Daren, You're welcome cmalyan. Looking back on seanjaymos old gallery thread, I'm a little worried now. He sent up the replacement springs that Eibach sent to him eventually and the new owner posted a side by side pic. The ones that he had trouble with have the same part number as mine................... I had a look at daves16v thread as he had them fitted too, but he didn't show a pic of the springs themselves. Does anyone else have this setup and have pics, or can confirm that the springs you have are the same part number as the spring on the right in the link below please. (3rd pic). http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?80155-Corrado-Part-Duex-24V-Aqua-Blue-She-s-gone&p=1092121&viewfull=1#post1092121
  5. Fronts now on. Went relatively smoothly although I forgot to mark where the lower bolts were so I've got mega negative camber now its back on the ground! Got a trip down to JMR coming up soon though to sort all that. Only have N/S pics as it had started raining by the time I had got to the O/S, so had to rush a bit. Front is sitting a bit high at the moment but hopefully it settles down. Fingers crossed I don't have any issues. I'll get some pics of the ride height tomorrow after a bit of a drive, and they've had time to bed in properly.
  6. Pretty sure you can still get them in the exact same size from VW. Last time I heard they were about £25. Obviously not the "original" but at least it'll be in date!
  7. Yeah, all VR6s are plus axle mate.

    G60 Engine or Block

There's a PG block that popped up on ebay yesterday too John.
  9. They're 'plus axle' Sean so the correct ones, am I right in that the ones you received were wrong type?
  10. Garden shed like mine! The rest of my car parts are all over the house and she's not happy! haha!
  11. Tell me about it mate, I'm torturing myself at the moment looking at houses with big garages! I need to wait unfortunately unless I'm gonna be a weekend husband/dad for the next 6 years, or I manage to get back down to Plymouth which I've been trying to for ages now. Cant afford all that where we are at the moment.
  12. Just saw your reply on my members gallery so bo, your not standard height! Lol
  13. The only thing I'll say is that with different colour against a diamond cut lip or face, it really accentuated how small these wheels are. Its even more apparent if the car is standard height. Have a look on google images for them and you'll see what I mean. (I haven't looked myself but remember seeing split colours in the past a few times). Food for thought is all mate.
  14. So, 13 months after taking delivery, they're finally on. Well the rears are anyway! I kept getting rained off, so managed to get the rear ones completed and the rear end back on the ground with all bots torqued up, and the front wheels are off and top mount nuts loosened so its just 2 bolts holding them on each side. Should get a break in the weather long enough to change them tomorrow. They're bilstein B12s (Bilstein B8 Dampers & Eibach springs) if anyone hasn't read (20 pages now!) back on this thread. Sorry for the dire pics!
  15. ISV mate. The 2 I had were both duff, and the cheap new one I got was also faulty. I was lucky to have a fellow owner quite local, so borrowed his to ensure it was actually the ISV at fault, then bought a good used one which has cured my problem.
  16. Just to close my issues here, I got a good second hand one (I'll get a new one when I don't have holiday spending money to think about in a week!), and its now spot on and tested on a couple of good runs. Not had chance to check on VCDS, although idle is rock solid and where it should be so don't envisage any problems. Many thanks to CazzaVR for great service on the replacement.
  17. Here you go dude. These are basically ETKA but not up to date on a couple of parts that have been superseded. By phoning the dealership though ETKA should list both so they'll be able to tell you the new correct part number. With partsbase you don't need to register, with VAGCAT you do. I'm sure it'll help you out in future. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjSvd3a4v_KAhVDsxQKHT65C1cQFggwMAI&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.partsbase.org%2F&usg=AFQjCNGO8E_JfHTCG14P9I-3E1RFHcP7Jw&sig2=qlUKF-lZGo8_YVcfLUsWEg&bvm=bv.114195076,d.ZWU https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjTkcDD4v_KAhXI6RQKHZiUCG4QjBAIJjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.vagcat.com%2Fepc%2F&usg=AFQjCNFDFkzOC3BnJnEVlWMzrokar-zSeQ&sig2=UX20WrJdDd_f6pLCgsGy0w&bvm=bv.114195076,d.ZWU
  18. There are probably far more 16v motors on the road than G60s. (Assuming you're in the UK?). Welcome along to the forum anyway, and I think you should buy one!
  19. I got some from VW last year. 1H0609734C - £2.80 each.
  20. Drove it a bit, and swapped out the ISV for a good one. So much nicer to drive without the random flat spots at low revs and high idle!
  21. Yeah so the arm of the compensator attaches to the spring which attaches to the rear beam. When more load is applied to the rear (passengers in back or a boot full), the valve opens more allowing more flow and more braking bias toward the tear. So instead of 70:30 you get 60:40 etc based on the amount of weight.
  22. Not a bad little run around mate! Must admit I do like these, its like going back to proper little hot hatches as they've all got a bit fat over the years.

    Bbs rx228

5x100 17x7.5 ET35 and bolt straight on. I'm lowered a bit (but not hugely) and have never had one scrubbing issue if it helps. Have a look in the later pages of my members gallery linked in my sig if you need more pics of what they look like on Jim.
  24. When I had my bolsters replaced I got a local place to look through their off cuts to find leather with a similar texture. Its not perfect but as I re coloured the whole lot its not hugely noticeable.
