    Wheel woes!!

serach vortex as theres a lot of info on there along with pics of what is possible in terms of re drilling. At worst if you have too much problems you can always sell them and buy a new set with a higher offset. Most Jap rs's are ET 40- ET50 so have plenty of scope for adapter. Even fitting 5 stud wheels on 4 stud hubs is possible with the adapters from concept wheels.

    Wheel woes!!

Can you post a pic of the fronts and backs of your wheels? It may be possible to re drill the wheels. Otherwise as above re drill your hubs and discs to 4 x 114.3. There wont be enough material on the front hub so a ring will have to be added to the outside of the hub for strength as the holes for the new pcd will be right near the edge.
  4. cool i have a few more questions so i'll pm you
  5. No theres not a seal at the very top of the arch. I've protected the inside of my wing and inner arches and where the lip has been rolled flat the gap has been filled and sealed with seam sealer so m confident there is enough protection for rust not to develop. Another option is to heat the arch liner and re mould the shape to allow for extra clearance. Ive done this in the past when my car wasnt as low. pm me if you want to know any more...
  6. have you got any pics of your brembos fitted behind your rc's?
  7. ultraviolet were avaialble in both early and late style interiors. Isometric only came in post 1994 corrados from what im aware. The very early recaro interiors were the grey ones with a black and red stripe.
  8. Makes sense now, i have 31mm clearance on the back of my rs's which is strange as the profile on the back of my lattice looks the same as yours. Anyway the brembos look good back there and the fact that they are close to the spokes mean they look better as they fill out the back of the wheel!
  9. Cool thats the pic i was after. Its interesting your brembos fit behind your wheels as i have merc rs's that struggled to clear my 288's! Can you do me a favour and measure the clearance beteen the mounting face and the inside of the spokes? I just want to compare them to mine. If theres no dofference in the clearance in the wheel then it may be that 305mm 4 stud discs run a higher offset compared to 288mm 5 stud discs and thats why your wheels clear.
  10. so the brembos were a straight fit nehind your rs's? if so can you take a picture of the back of your rs's for me when you get a chance.
  11. i think they must be 4 stud hubs still as i just realised it mentions in the last post hes fitted 305mm discs which are 4 stud.
  12. im guessing your running some kind of 4 to 5 stud adapter which gives you enough space to get brembos to fit behind your rs's?
  13. yes the arches are rolled and the plastic arch liner has been trimmed back from the 10 o clock to the 2 o clock position. The rolled arches are sealed with panel sealer so there is stll protection under there. HTH
  14. Its been missing from before i bought the car so no idea why its not there, what happened to yours? Im sure the rc's look fine, but im sure with your driving the brake dust will tone them down a bit after a few laps of the richmond one way system  Nice plans for the car, you'll have to take me for a drive :) The camaera is a point but but has a wide angle lense that takes some nice shots.

    wheel bolt sizing

The bolts you linked to are pcd correction wheel bolt aka called wobbly bolts, they will be fine for the application but not neccasary. Regular bolts will be just fine,Ive bought sets from ebay in the past like the ones below and not had any issues http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/20-X-ALLOY-WHEEL-BOLTS-VW-SEAT-AUDI-SKODA-14X1-5_W0QQitemZ320311427076QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item320311427076&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1299|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318 But recheck that the rc's are a taper seat, being aftermarket wheels they should be.

    wheel bolt sizing

The bolts will be M14 x 28mm, i cant remember for certain but they should use a taper seat bolt
  17. Leon i like the ch's so they will be staying for the moment and theres no catching but then my arches have been rolled for clearance. Heres how they sit from behind, nicely inside the arch for a 8.5j with 215 section tyres :) How come your sending your car to stealth? Anyhow let me know how you get on with your car and when its back and you can have a look in person. As for your paintwork my bro usually fits the odd car in here and there between uni so yours shouldnt be an issue. Compared to most other cars corrados have really nice paintwork and they come out amazing after a bit of work. Hows the drive with the rc's? Matt the camera is a Canon Ixy 910IS, its a Jap model and its uk equivelant is the Ixus 860IS. Its a really good point and shoot for both indoor and outdoor shots :)
  18. looking good, zw1's and corrados were made for each other. Get some better pics up to do the car justice!
  19. nice work with the hump, looks factory :) Working in your engine bay must be a right pain as there is no space! Lucky you have a lift as the other annoying thing working on a corrado is that the engine is so low down!
  20. it mentioned a directional chain in the technical papers i was using for reference when i did mine but when i looked at both the original chain and the replacement neither had any arrows or markings to indicate direction. There have been no issues since. Regarding the oil seal i did as per Toad and used a 6 x 4 piece of wood to drift out the old seal
  21. Is this something you had done to the hubs and discs, or can you actually buy these? I had my existing hubs and discs machined
  22. Cheers your car was looking sweet too! Was cool having the two c's at the front of the convoy to Heston
  23. Thanks appreciate your comments, i have a few more wheels i want to run before i put the rs's back on next summer so im not sure how long i will keep the ch's although i am suprised how well they suit the car considering they are a wheel that is not from the same era as the corrado...
  24. i saw that when you posted it first time round, they are extremely light!
  25. No not 301's they are 5 x 112 fitment rs199 8 x 17 et32, the size and offset worked out perfect for the look i wanted to run. Although after seeing yours i might switch my tyres to 195/40/17 p zeros
