  1. dont worry at that height you will be able to take your car off road!
  2. kip are your calipers the same as the boxster fronts/996 rears? i measured the clearance on my ch's today and they have 54mm from hub face to inner spokes so i may go brembo sooner sather than later.
  3. dont have any scales to hand but i had my 8.5 x 17 bbs ch's off todays and they have 54mm worth of caliper clearance!
  4. Gutted for you and can't imagine why someone would want to steal them! Im shocked as your area is pretty safe! You can get new centre caps but they are £30 each!

    Aqua blue Rado on RS'

That would make them 8.5"'s wide Sounds like a nice set, stainless 17" lips are not cheap! i can imagine they are around the 2k+ level? Only thing to note is that the profile on aftermarket lips is different. Personally i prefer the profile on the oem lips as they roll back on themselves before coming out.

    Aqua blue Rado on RS'

i was going to post my collection of corrados on rs's but some of the pics are to big, i'll get them on later. 8)
  11. get them changes asap they will transform the handling and also the ride. With the old perished bushes fitted the back used to feel loose and did not inspire any confidence. As well as the bad handling the car used to have a crashy ride. As soon as i changed them not only did the handling sharpen up but the ride was so much better too. I could drive my car on the inside lane and not have to avoid drain covers etc. I noticed you mentioned selling your suspension kit, i would hold off untill you get the bushes done and then think again, Atleast you have finally diagnosed the issue, im sure you will enjoy the corrado much more when you get them done.
  12. thats crazy! i know you have had a handling issue for sometime, surely someone suggested the rear beam bushes already? I changed mine earlier this year, made a huge difference. I did the work myself and replaced with oem bushes from vw. Depending on your mechanical ability and access to tools you could do it yourself. Check my readers ride thread as i did a write up including how i improvised a tool to get the new bushes in.

    Aqua blue Rado on RS'

suprisingly i only have the one pic of an aqua blue on rs's
  14. They are quite impressive, they sound nice out the box with all the sounds setting on zero, where as with the alpines you have to spend some time setting them up. Its also really easy to use, looks discreeet much like a standard unit would so i dont have to worry about security as much and is a bluetooth handsfree for my phone. I recently bought an ipod connector for it and couldnt ask for anything more. I'll put some pics up of my interior it looks like it was fited from factory with the green illumination which incedentaly dims off the dimmer for the dash lights.
  15. try talkaudio its a really knowledgeable site. As for recomendations i used to be a die hard alpine and have had some of there well rated units like the 7944 and the 9835 but nowadays i find them too bright. Im currently using a becker grandprix which sounds great out the box and looks like a factory head unit so blends in to my dash,
  16. when i meant short plates i meant ones with not so many digits :) If your only using the car occasionally you will be fine leaving the wheels on as you can keep on top of them. Its only really an issue if its wet and you drive the car hard and the brake dust cakes on and then drys or if the roads have been gritted. Are the wheels catching on the front or back? my 8 x 17 et35 rh's used to clear quite nicely so it may be down to profile of the tyre sidewall?
  17. thats a nice size you shouldnt have a problem with clearance them :) Plate looks fine as it is, i'm not a fan of messing with spacing or fonts, i just like short plates... Are you going to be running the wheels over winter?
  18. Matt the cars looking really well, whats size and offset are the futuras? What tyres are you running? 5 digit plate ooks cool too
  19. Hi Kip Yes i'm contemplating fiting a set of brembos so just curious as to other corrado owners set ups at the moment. Your right with a 2 piece bell and disc set up you can ofset the discs inboard for more clearance, the link looks interesting i'll have a read later. Are the orginal seat discs one piece? Witout measuring i have what looks like 40mm + worth of clearance behind the ch's so they fit without a problem. I'm going to have a good measure when i take them off next
  20. looks good, get some better pics up
  21. no probs :) Do you mean the clearance between the wheel and the strut? if so its extrememly close but there is clearance, maybe less than 1mm's worth! Ive fully checked the clearance though even under load and the wheels definately clear. I reckon if the profile of the lip on the wheel was different then they would not clear without spacers so i got lucky. Another option to gain clearance is to take the helper springs out of your coilovers and raise the coilover platforms above the top of the tyre which is what shaggy did on here. I would have done this but got away with it. I know what you mean about the 8 x 17's being close, my rh's were the same size and offset so it was a case of trial and error to see if the ch's would clear which thankfully they do.
  22. are you achieveing that clearance without spacers?
  23. nice finish, what wheels are the going behind and how much clearance do they require from the hub face to the inside of the spokes?
