  1. As long as the spring seat isn't on the lowest setting you should be able to see some grooves in the strut below the spring seat. There is no need to remove the strut to identify this you would only remove if you wanted to adjust the height.
  2. suede is nice but using it will wear quickly unless you drive with gloves so i would say go for a retrim in a nice quality leather. if you're ever passing a bmw dealers check out the m sport steering wheels on the new bm's they have real nice chunky wheels with good quality leather.
  3. looking good, how are you finding the brakes?
  4. when i had a think back after i spoke to you i'm suprised you needed a deep 16mm. I can't remember what i have on my engine but i managed to get the bolt undone and i dont have a deep 16mm socket or a 16mm spanner in my tool set.
  5. it was always about going back to silver. How long are you keeping yours on for? The weathers been so good i'm not taking mine off for some time :D
  6. looks good, i recently swapped the front chrome to a black badge and left the chrome vr6 badge. your front end looks like mine now :)
  7. Most beckers made since 2005 are compatible with 3rd and 4th generation ipods.
  8. Coming from some of the classic Alpine Units like the CDA-7944r and the CDA-9835r i used to find them bright and take a lot of setting up. The becker is much smoother and sounds perfect straight out the box, no need to adjust the sound settings they sound balanced with everything at zero.
  9. sure will do, its quite straight forward. I helped take Hasan's column out so should only take a few hours at most.
  10. Zak's loaded, that's why he can afford all these expensive mods :D  if you're not fussed about mp3 you can get a becker cd headunit for less than £100. They came in old mercs and porsches to name a few cars so theres always plenty on ebay.
  11. Not yet but i want to if i can find the time, was hoping to do it when i get round to fitting some winter wheels and softer springs to the kw's.

    16x9 et15 on a vr

If you havent bought the wheels yet and you want to fit 9's up front try to get them in et25, they fit so much nicer up front. Have a serach on here as quite a few vr guys have fitted 9x16's in the past.
  13. Same As Judith heres my Becker Grand Prix
  14. Agree with the above i've had my v2's for 3 years and they are still going strong. Are you selling your softer springs?
  15. Sheer bolts are fitted from factory for security reasons, replacing with normal bolts is perfectly fine.
  16. If you're really keen on the wheels you can get them in 17 x 7.5 with an offset in the 40's from the e36 beemers. They would be a much better option and you could run them with adapters. They have a smaller dish though if thats an issue to you? I think the smaller dish looks better.
  17. A guy on vortex redrilled them wheels and fitted them to his corrado, his are staggered 8's & 9's even redrilled they dont sit great let alone after adapters
  18. My bros still a student so can manage cars on the side when he has time :) Menzerna is a final stage paint correction polish used on a pad with a rotary or DA polisher. Theres some info in the link below or you can go on detailing world and there will be loads of info on it. In a nutshell you use final finish once you have taken the main swirls out the paint allready, it has minimal cut and has diminishing particles that break down as you work the polish and used correctly leaves the paint like glass. http://www.thepolishingcompany.com/menzerna.html Orange peel aside on the rear quarter panels i find that the corrado's have excellent paint from factory that you can detail to a glossy deep finish.
  19. iirc 301's have 42mm of clearance from the hub face to the back of the spokes. I remember a post from you saying that your ap's needed 42mm of clearance so with a mild spacer i would think they would clear. Maybe when the time comes to think about brakes leon could trial a wheel over your setup. edit this is the post with the clearance requirements of ap's mentioned http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=62085&p=727331&hilit=42mm+ap#p727331 and heres a link to G60 stoney confirming the back spacing. http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=41254&hilit=bbs+rs+brembo&start=225#p862474
  20. Now thats a comprehensive post and list of plans, look forward to seeing the progress. From the way you utilise the 12v power when i've been in the car with you i can only imagine what will happen when you have the r32 power under your right foot  On a serious note with all the plans you have it will be one of the most complete NA corrados about and regarding the brakes im sure we will be able to work out how to get a set of big brakes behind the rs's
  21. looking good, 17's are way more practical. Just sort out your spacing and clearance and you'll be happy to stick to 17's
  22. Hasan good news, glad we don't have to pull the box out and you can get on with putting your car back together
