    vr6 cams

Its covered pretty well in this topic, if you have a resonable level of mechanical competence then you should be able to do it yourself. http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=56562&hilit=vr6+cams

use a 9a gasket and bolt set. Although the bolts are the same for the two engines
  8. seems like a good sytem. I think quiet is good. I'd be very happy with it.
  9. good work, so your exhaust has a total of 3 silencers? What exhaust is it?
  10. theres a lot of nice porsche wheels out there, i know someone with a set of 17" eta beta splits for sale that would look good 8)
  11. the weathers nice so i'll see what i can do about the east london meet
  12. I think rs's are actually easier to clean than a lot of other bbs wheels. I find them way easier to clean compared to my old ch's and rc's. You just need to use the right combination of brushes then dry with a micro fiber
  13. i was just waiting for that from Jon  I just realised i posted the wrong link above, the rs list is as follows which covers most of the European available rs's. you will find that a lot of the jap ones are missing from it though. http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=62588&p=732377&hilit=rs199#p732377 Ref to the redrilled set i would have the same concerns whether it has been done to a high standard. Otherwise i think the size and offset should be ok with 205/40/17 tyres given that you have rolled arches. Best car to compare against would be Bally as he runs 9's with an et15 all round plus a spacer at the rear. Since rs's are modular you could always source narrower dishes if the 8.5j is too wide. You have to be careful if going this route as early 17" rs's used 16" centres stepped up to 17". Later on BBS made a dedicated larger weave for their 17". The second type of 17" is more common and dishes are easier to source.
  14. Hope its a small issue Matt, is your car still at stealth? I'm there on Friday afternoon
  15. BBS RS is the style of wheel the 3 digits after denote the specific model here is a link to the many different rs's available. https://www.parcel2go.com/service.aspx?serviceid=3 BBS RS 301's are mentioned a lot as they are the only 5 x 100 17" rs available. There is no 4 x 100 17" rs afaik. This means that no 17" rs is going to be a direct fit for you, depending on which model you get hold of will deteremine what work you will need to do. The corrado you posted earlier is running 7.5 x 17 et 25 front and 8.5 x 17 et20 rear on a vr. I think the cheapest way for you to get 17" rs's on you car is buy a 5 x 114.3 jap fitment spec of ebay. These are usually 8's on the front and 8.5 or 9's on the rear. like the following auction http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=230347359340 They usually go for a round £600 then spend approx £300 on a refub and Eur 250 on 4 x 100 - 5 x114.3 adapters from concept wheels http://www.concept-wheels.be/index.php?action=page&group_id=9&lang=NL so should cost you just over a grand to get them on. As a comparison rs 301's go for £1400 + depending on condition. There is also the following wheels for sale on German ebay that have been redrilled to 4 x 100 and would be a perfect fihttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=260435655014t for you
  16. The most important question is how are you planning on going five stud? with adapters or swapping the hubs?
  17. Big ron runs 276mm aftermarket beetle discs with a 5 x 130 patters. I searched and found the following link that may be of use http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=1192
  18. brakes look right at home behind the wheels 8)
  19. Very simple to replace, i've only ever removed them when ive had the engine out so as long as there is enough access it should be quite straight forward.
  20. theres two knock sensors on a vr6 one for each bank of cylinders. They push in to the front and the back of the block and secure with a small bolt. You cant miss them as they have a lead coming of them.
  21. I run stub axel spacers on mine, make sure you check the spacers clear the abs sensor on the back of the stub axel, i had to trim mine down to the right shape for them to clear.
  22. thats strange if they have never been split. Maybe the tyre bead has not properly sealed on the inside of the wheel?
  23. any update or are you too busy enjoying driving it :d
  24. were the rs's only on one side?
