Not sure to be honest, I've only ever changed rocker cover gaskets before, I'm guessing it won't hurt as long as none gets in the sump/oil!!

Good to know - I always check online prices before I check 'real' places to make sure I don't stitch myself up either way!! AGM batteries are great but not cheap! Get's what you pay for do - but they actually last any longer though? I usually have no probs starting, til the battery just dies and then usually they then won't hold a charge for more than 30 mins! Last one charged overnight, started the C fine and after the 20 minute drive to my auto factor wouldn't start it again so changed it in the carpark.

Best delivered prices for Varta Dynamic batteries (LxHxW - 278x175x175mm) I've found on the interweb are:- Black (E9) 70Ah, 640A cold crank - £73.98 - www.dcbatteries.com Blue (43) 72Ah, 680A cold crank - £80.00 - www.advancedbatterysupplies Silver (E38) 74Ah, 750A cold crank - £89.98 - www.dcbatteries.com If this is any help. My valver seems to eat batteries in two years (almost to the day  ) so I'm looking a couple of weeks in advance!!

The 19" rims will make it cheap for tyres eh? Cheapest 19s on best buy tyres are £141 ea, fook that :camp:

You can shim the top door-hinge forward which will raise the back of the door, if the door strike pins are shagged they aren't too expensive from the Stealers and finish it off nicely!

I think the insurance bill and the fact she hates the idea of a corrado should be enough to divert you from you contemplated course of action!! -
Starting to get to the point where the numbers are meaningless! Lowest i've experienced is -29 on exercise in Norway, never quite cracked -30, D'Oh!

Cleaned the C of snow around 1030hr this morning so it wouldn't melt any more and freeze as a solid block of ice over the wipers like last time - 2" later and it turns out it was a waste of time   IMG_6402 (Large).JPG[/attachment:1evn1r4i] Hey Jam.e.s. that's 20 degrees colder than it'll be here tonight!!!! 8)

As I said I don't mind being wrong!! Unfortunately NO! which is why there's no photo of it! If that had happened i would have posted the event differently. The 'repair' quite literally took about 90 seconds. :epicfail:

no, local council policy but I didn't expect them to be out in this bl00dy weather - should last until it melts and freezes again, about a week then!!
-
I wonder if Toad has any of his lads out doing road repairs in the snow. Seems pretty pointless to me, scrape away some snow, dump in some cold tarmac, tamp it down - job's a.............Good'un???????? Methinks probably not - but I don't mind being wrong!!!! climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfGearshift road 011 (Large).jpg[/attachment:2nbnymvb]2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfGearshift road 013 (Large).jpg[/attachment:2nbnymvb]Gearshift road 014 (Large).jpg[/attachment:2nbnymvb] Another quality job!!

g60 kit won't fit i shouldn't think, golf 2.0 8v kit might, that's what we had to do with the 1.8 valvers, mk2 golf 16v kit - we ended up with a spare hose but i've found that can be used to go from the bottom of the expansion bottle to the block, no waste!! 8) If you get an idea of what the hoses look like you could browse websites looking at the pics - it works!!

Tried the Stealers? that for an early valver used to be around £200 IIRC
