  1. I know convertibles bring the words "gay or a hairdresser" to mind. Which is how I thought about the EOS until I saw one. Its got a metal roof though!! So its a coupe!
  2. I dont know what everyone here thinks about the EOS but I want one!!! I'd seen the pictures and thought it was okay. They now have 2 at the dealership on the end of my street (Oswestry VAG dealers). They have a 1.6fsi in light blue which is okay but they also have a 2.0FSI sport in pearl black with all the toys. It looks sweeeeet! After seeing the EOS in the flesh I want one now. Pearl black metalic with the red nappa leather please. Anyone else seen one or want one?
  3. The one I got did have the 100mm flanges and it was from a 20v non-turbo A3. The problem with that though was it had a really short final drive. The best thing to do is ring around some scrappys and ask them to measure the flanges and ask what code it is. Then look the code up on the internet to check the ratios. I think pre 2000 20v are your best bet for a suitable box. It'd be good if you could get a scrappy to sell you some 100mm 02J flanges at a good price. *and here the picture I never got around to posting:
  4. I think he was quite an enthusiast as he raced in Le Mans and I have read somwhere that the getaway in stockholm videos are something to do with him. I love the fact that halfix bank of scotland lent him the money for two Enzo's and an SLR. He then never paid them and buggered of the the USA with the cars. I think I'll pop down the high street today see what I can do. They hadnt even reported the Enzos as missing idiots! lol

  6. Apologies if this has already been posted a million times! (I used the search and only found a short post about it) This is :!: :?: :!: :?: amazing! Check out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefan_Eriksson and http://www.wreckedexotics.com/special/enzo/ I cant believe how much stuff this guy was getting away with! EDIT* Just noticed this post about this Enzo driving mafia nutter was my 1000th, making me a CF nutter at last too!
  7. The difference in ride could be down to the tyres. When I replaced my proxys with F1 GSD3s the car felt so much better to drive. Somehow it felt a lot more even. If those are as I suspect Sams old wheels. I think he had some expensive tyres on them, rainsports or something.
  8. Like the wheels mate. Did you get those dings on your door sorted as I cant see them in the picture?
  9. Sweet, good on you having ago. It looks like your doing okay. Wouldnt it be a good idea to take the front bumper and trim off though?

  13. Wow, ace pictures! g-man's Passat looks fuck-ing amazing!
  14. Hopefully it was just a case of fifth not disengaging, but it could be that there's a broken tooth in there. If so you may get problems again. It’d definitely be worth give the box an oil change at this point anyway.
  15. We have just added most of the new special offers to the website. There still a few more to go up over the weekend but the main ones are on there. http://www.shacktools.com/specials.php PDF download of current Facom, Sykes and Britool offers http://www.files.shacktools.com/ebay/SE ... TIONV2.pdf (8mb) (right click link to save) We can now offer a 5% discount to forum members (maybe more on some items) on anything on the site. Phone us to place your order though as the site doesnt have the functionality to process discount codes yet. We also added about 500 of the Sykes-Pickavant range and 600 of the Britool range recently with plenty more to follow. About a 1000 Draper items should go live tonight too. If there anything you want that isnt listed drop us an email and we can probably source it for you. Thanks Cai
  16. When you strip a box you have to lock the gears to be able to undo various bolts. What happens is that you select 1st the normal way then you disconnect the shift mech from the 5th gear selector ring. Manually engage 5th gear by pushing it onto the syncros. Doing this locks the box solid like the way you describe. What could have happened is that the selector gear has somehow come off the fifth gear arrangement leaving it stuck in fifth gear. It doesnt seam possible but from the symptoms you have it could be this or a broken tooth is proper jammed between two shafts making it impossible to move. I've had a tooth of reverse gear totally jam up a gearbox before. You definitely need to get the box open to take a look. If your reasonably technical and have a puller to get fifth off then its fairly easy to open up for a look. As Ben's said, you can take a look at fifth with the box on the car. Just take the black end cap with the VW logo off and have a look whats going on with ffith. But you'll get a fair bit of stinking gearbox spilt everywhere.
  17. Well done. With those wheels and the car £1650 for what will be an amazing looking car.
  18. By the way the above item that I posted is now discontinued until a new model with variable speed comes out. Thought I'd better post an update just in case. Dont want to disappoint anyone.
  19. There one for the quote thing on the portal page. This cars really going to the next level!
  20. Knowing about there customer demographics would be a good thing. See if you can find any sales statistics on the average age, earnings of people who buy Mercs. If I was interviewing someone for a sales position and they had already given my typical customer base some though I’d be impressed. Also maybe mention being excited about the sales potential of an upcoming model. However, could be dodgy tactic if they don’t agree that the certain upcoming model has good potential for high sales.
