£45 + VAT for wheel alignment! You're havin' a bubble ain't ya!? The tyre place I use does a full four wheel laser alignment for £16. And I thought that was steep :shock:

Just a quick question folks. Is there a plastic cover available for the scuttle panel (between the engine bay and windscreen)?? The passenger side of mine's covered but the drivers side's completely exposed, just doesn't look quite right. :roll: Cheers Mike

You'll need the little blue plastic clips that go in the holes on the boot lid. They're listed in ETKA if someone could kindly look them up. I got mine from VW, think they were 5p each or something.

Yup, pre-facelift Corrados have a slight recess in the middle of the bonnet. Post-facelfit have a bulge, this was added to make room for the larger VR6 engine. I believe the facelift models have slightly different wings as well. And a three slat grille of course. Think the facelift occured in late '91, don't quote me on that.

Likewise G60Jet I'd say I spend an average of £75 a month on adding to or maintaining my Corrado. Every man needs a hobby, least that's what I tell the Missus. :wink:

Car failed MOT last night on 2 rear brake flexi hoses. Where's the best (cheapest) place to buy the braided goodridge hoses? Tried Eurocarparts, they only do the standard ones. :cry:

And remember, this screw is the reverse thread of every other screw in the universe :D :D :shock:

Just browsing through the old posts and spotted this. Might be a bit late but for what it's worth. My '91 pre facelift 16v came with factory black leather interior and heated seats. I have the older dash, window switches etc. The little rotary controls are on the dash below the window demister etc. On other Corrados I've seen a blanking plate with a red LED or ''Unleaded Fuel Only'' sticker situated here. I reckon it's just a matter of fitting the appropriate wiring. Forget about changing the dash, it'l never be rattle free. Hope this helps.

Definately a worthwhile mod in my opinion. Nice to have wipers that actually work :D Although I did hear some peeps complaining that the blades didn't last very long. My blades have lasted 7 months so far and they get plenty of use over here in sunny N.I. 8)

Pop the little plastic covers off the bottom of your existing wiper arms to reveal the nuts holding them on. Apply suitably sized socket and remove. :)

Not sure if it's the same company as the Top Gear I've dealt with. They're based in Teddington. I ordered a K&N panel filter from them in April, it took 4 months for them to send it! :shock:

I had the same problems when I fitted Passat mechs and handles to my doors. Managed to get everything fitted, then couldn't open the door from outside :( The little striker on the handle didn't push the lever on the mechanism down far enough to disengage the lock. There are two points that can be adjusted to rectify this. 1/ The striking pin on the handle has a little plastic cap on it. This is threaded and can be turned to make the pin longer/shorter. 2/ On the lock mechanism itself, there is an a small bolt, 5.5 mm I think. This can be loosened and adjusted to alter the travel required to disengage the lock on the lever the striking pin hits. After a lot of fiddling about, I managed to get both these adjusted correctly to open the door from outside. Then I accidently engaged the childlock on the new mechanism and locked myself in the car. Top Tip: Remove the Child Lock Pin :D :D

Looks good Cheesy. Not all to my taste, but the workmanship seems very sound. I particularly like the ''Angeleyes'' lights and the bodykit. Wheels look nice as well. Health to drive M8. :D

Tell them the performance hasn't increased by over 10 BHP anyway. They're not likely to come out and rolling road it to prove you wrong. :)

Thanks very much guys, glad you approve. Didn't use any coilovers. Just took an angle grinder to the springs :D Seriously though, lowered the car using a Vipertech Dropshox suspension kit. Don't know of anyone else that's used this kit, but I'm happy with it. The front grille broke my heart, though it does look nice. Cost me nearly 200 quid including paint :shock: Took the pictures around the coast about a mile from my house. Haven't seen you about in a while Chuck. Is the Corrado still going? Heard a rumour you were buying a Mark IV Golf??

I agree, 17's effect the ride quality too much. Plus, everytime you go over a pothole at speed you think you've buckled a wheel. I've 16's on mine and it's lowered 55mm. IMO they fill the arches nicely. Take a look at my pics in the Gallery section and see what you think. Lovely wheels BTW 8) What are they??

Are all Corrados fitted with Heated Washer Jets? Mine certailnly has them, but they don't work :cry: The wires have become corroded and pull quite easily out from their connectors under the bonnet. Is there an easy way to fix this? Or should I just replace them? The plastic connectors on the bonnet seem very delicate. Cheers

John, Out of a full tank I get around 300 - 400 miles. Depending on the journeys I take.

Bought a replacement door handle yesterday. I want to swap the lock barrel from my old lock over. However, I can't for the life of me see how to remove the barrel. Can anyone help??
