  1. Interesting question concerning the childlocks. Just got me wondering if you can use the Passat rear handles along with the front lock mechanism. That way eliminating the childlocks? Childlocks can be disabled by removing the little lever on the lock mechanism. GPC or EPC would probably be the best place to buy new handles/mechs. The original handles have wiring going directly to them. This is used to enable the central locking/total closure to operate via the lock barrel. Since you're removing the lock barrel, you no longer need this wiring. Central locking should work via your remote alarm. Total closure can be enabled by lenghtening the locking pulse from your alarm. Make sure your key fits the boot lock, otherwise you'll be locked out completely if your battery goes flat or you lose your alarm fob.
  2. You can usually convince an insurance company that the value was a bit higher than book. My mate has his Saab 900 Turbo stolen and burnt out. Insurance offered him book price, way below what he'd spent over the previous 12 months on restoring the car (full engine rebuild, respray, numerous other work). The car was in showroom condition. He sent the insurance company photos, copies of receipts for the work he'd had done and cutouts from Autotrader, club magazine showing the REAL value of a car in similar condition. In the end they gave him £2000 more than top book for it.
  3. Never ceases to amaze me how many a$£&holes there are on the roads. Any particular reason why this t£$t decided to push you into a kerb? Jealousy? Anyway, as Scott says, it's a rightoff as far as insurance are concerned. So keep them out of it. A door skin a quarter panel and a good bodyshop who'll do work for "cash" is what you need my friend. Unfortunately, Corrado bodyparts are very expensive. Pricing the parts NEW from Euro comes to about £800, then you've got the work on top of that. Look for someone breaking a Corrado and see if you can do a deal on the bits. Try and get £2000 out of the f%£ker cash, otherwise you'll go to the cops and do him for dangerous driving. Good Luck Mike
  4. It's in VWs interest to help us maintain our cars surely? It adds to their illusion of build quality and reliability if there's loads of 10+ year old VW's still on the road in good shape.
  5. You have my sympathy. Similar thing happpened to me last winter in the snow. Slid into the kerb at less than 5mph, the wheel took the impact face on :( £30 or so for a wishbone from ECP (make sure you get it WITH bushes) £6 for new bolts from VW. Took me about 2 hours to fit in the freezing cold. You wheel alignment will be knocked off, so budget £20 to get that done. Can't help with the suspension question. Good Luck!
  6. Hi CIPO, I'm in Bangor. Here's a wee pic I took near my house. Sadly not a Storm or VR6.
  7. Thanks Tattie! Worked a treat :D 8)

    heater probs

What was the cause of the problem in the end bugie? Mine's doing the same thing!
  9. Quote: Front Leather Seats Does this mean he's got the leather seats and door cards from a scrapped Corrado? It'll look mighty stupid with leather fronts and a cloth rear bench! Notice there's no pix of the rear interior.
  10. Apparently the pedals from a LHD TT are what's needed. RHD accelerator pedals don't fit UK spec Corrados So, I need the part no/s for a set of LHD Audi TT pedals if anyone can help? Maybe G60Jet since he's in Spain? Cheers Mike

Maybe you're just driving it harder now it's running sweet. I had a similar problem when I drilled my airbox and fitted a K+N. Heavy right foot syndrome :D
  12. Have a look at this Thread... http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewto ... production
  13. I've similar problems shifting into 2nd when the engine's cold. Have to push the clutch right to the floor and almost force the car into gear. Seems to clear up once I've travelled a few miles. Any suggestions gratefully received. :?
  14. Bought an uprated headlight loom from BANANAMAN. Arrived on time with excellent instructions on fitting. Very pleased. :D 8)
  15. Paul, http://www.street-racers.co.uk and http://www.topgear.co.uk Both supply these wheels. They're a very pricey wheel though.
  16. What do these do? Do I NEED one? :D
  17. Tis powered by Devils from the deepest bowels of damnation.
  18. To the N.I. boys.... The new Sainsbury's near Holywood does Superunleaded. 79.9p per litre which is 10p cheaper than my local BP in Bangor were doing. Had two fills of it now and it doesn't make the car run any differently than the BP Super. Mike
  19. Fit the arms and fancy wipers from a Lupo GTI as per this thread.... http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewto ... lupo+wiper These wipers will actually apply some pressure to the windscreen, unlike the the original underengineered ones. Then you'll see clearly as you fly up the M1 Lurgan-bound at 120 in the rain marksvr6. :D :D
  20. If it hums even when you're stationary, it's not a wheel bearing. If you suspect the Fuel Pump, check when your Fuel Filter was last changed. If it hasn't been done in a while get it seen to. Always use a genuine VW filter too.
  21. I'd recommend the Lupo GTI wipers. They make an excellent improvement. Bit more expensive than the Dremel fix though :)

Thanks Dubprince. Darren I've heard varying reports about the quality of Justmatz stuff. Have you used them in the past?

    MJ Interiors

Does anyone have an e-mail address for MJ interiors. I want to send them this picture and ask them if they can supply these mats with silver/grey piping instead of red. Cheers Mike
  24. I believe these are a simple straight swap for my existing rubber pedal covers. Is this correct? or is there slightly more to it? Thanks Mike
  25. Thanks vr6storm Another VW design quirk then :)
