A GB on KONI's would be tops.... I need new shocks

Whats the fastest you have ever been in your Corrado?
Scott replied to surfer.vr6's topic in General Car Chat
Sounds like it might need a tune up then as I saw an indicated 135mph on my 16V and it was still pulling (just)... reckon would have done 135 - 140 tops... bearing in mind the speedo will be about 5% out at that speed... its a genuine 130mph car which is what they are supposed to be...... -
Just recieved my new Kamei copy grill spoiler from GSF... seems to fit ok and once run some Silkaflex under it and glued it on to Corrado should look fine... no self tappers for me thanks!!! Problem is it needs painting - is this something I can do myself (I have sprayed stuff before but not pearl paint!) or will it need to go to bodyshop?

Oh... does the 'optimisation' affect economy at all?
-
Correct mate - Torque goes up by another 15 - 20 lb ft...

Nice one! :D Can I not leave the boost compensator alone so I get no smoke>? :-P - Looks like I need to get a boost guage then as would have no idea how to turn it up to 118 / 119 PSi...
-
mine has the bosch pump by way 8)

Thanks mate... I have a basic understanding of what to do but am concerned about how much I need to turn up: Boost Compensator Fuelling Fuelling on Pump Wastegate (to increase boost) Apparently just doing basic optimisation that alot of firms charge hundreds for that you can do in 30 mins I could gain as much as 20% increase in POWER and TORQUE

Anyone know where I can get Diesel Tuning done for my Pug 306 in the North West for sensible money? Apparently cos its a mechanical diesel turbo engine I can get gains of 20-30% for not alot of cash so would make the drive to work more interesting

Yup... went through that stage last weekend when looked at mine.... in everyone elses eyes they see a lovely car.... I see: paintwork that needs stonechips sorted wheels that need refurb cylinder head that needs new valve guides and timing gear suspension that needs updating.. It gets me down alot sometimes as I dont always have the money / time to get it done... but I drive it and it puts a smile on face... Thankfully I am slowly getting the jobs done now! keep at it mate... and do a bit at a time. Even if its only a small job... its one less thing to do.

That is what I would trade my VR6 in for...

LOL I love the Ghost Rider vids...

Well I have just driven my mates IMMACULATE in EVERY WAY MK1 Golf GTI.... is running a 2.0 Audi block and throttle body / uprated cam / exhaust / fuelling / poly bushes / arb's / koni suspension / full 16v brake setup / 15 inch alloys.... just to name a FEW of the things he has done... Its the most fun I have ever had in a car full stop - it makes you want to drive it like a complete loon ALL the time.... 160bhp in a shell that weighs around 800kg?.. CRAZY... revs into the red and out the other side till hits the limiter  It revs out in 5th gear bouncing off the limiter... I LOVE IT! It reminds me so much of my old MK1 GTE but has more power and revs faster ... It might not be flash compared to some of the stuff you have mentioned but it certainly turns heads where ever you go in it.... :D

Cheers for that mate.... I drive through colne / barrowford down the A6068 daily....and on to Keighley road... 8) Think the VR is staying the garage this week and back to the trusty diesel to go slow...
-
Mine: Water: Sits at 90 deg on constant run.... rises to 105deg if stuck in heavy traffic.. comes back down after a mile or so once moving again.... Oil: Constant 50 - 60mph run run... sits at around 100degC.... Motorway run / High Speed blast.... usually around 114 - 118 degC... although on one warm day doing 150mph+ I saw 124degC... VW's run pretty warm anyway....
-
Urrrmmmmmmm ULTIMATELY the VR6 is faster..... it has a higher top speed :-P I have beat not one but TWO Scoobies... and anything over 80 - 90mph and the VR lump pulls away...... Good cars but four doors?
-
Did you check your brake bias valve after you lowered the car? - If not then chances are the rear brakes were binding slightly hence when cornering causing the back end to come out (oversteer)
-
Anything is possible if you have money...........
-
Its a bugger to get back in as its very tight... I spent alot of time fiddling with mine to line up all the holes properly and push it in.... It kind of pushes in then downwards slightly...
-
I would.... At the end of the day just because you think someone is wrong to do such a thing as have their fog lights on doesnt give you the right to call them w**kers... Show some respect people and grow up...
-
I was thinking about using silkoflex.......... run a bead along the grill spoiler.... - put in place... shut bonnet... Job done? the silkoflex should absorb some impact from the bonnet and no screws required!! - very strong stuff!!

   What is this forum coming too eh? 8)
