So you suggest I junk my front speakers  I dont really want to spend too much dosh as have a head rebuild and suspension to sort out .... 8) I have been offered some cheap tweeters (JBL's) and a couple of two way Pioneer cross overs..... anyway can get them working nicely or do I really have to junk everything? Well its been like that for about 3/4 months now but I dont usually crank it up as it sounds so pants!!! So taking into consideration that I have lovely brand new speakers and obviously the wiring is pants!!! Whats the best way to wire them in? I am also thinking of getting an amp... perhaps to power the front four speakers? I am thinking the best way for the front speakers that are running 2 ohms at present is.... two way cross over each side of car for fronts.... 5 1/4 inch to low pass.... 3 inch to high pass? Will this work ok considering they are co axials? Or would it be better to chuck the 3 inch dash speakers... and put tweeters in there? I really need the OE tweeters that I have thrown out  Cheers Scott -
The Pirellis arent that great IMAO... Yokohama AVS Sports here....

I do have all co-axial speakers.... all kicker DS series. I am running it off a Pioneer CD OEL Unit that has 45W per channel. I will try disconnecting the front dash speakers first... and see what happens. If that fails then its the 'full monty' like Kev mentions!!! Out of curiousity does anyone have a spare set of front tweeters (OE) for the Corrado that sound ok? Cheers for help Scott -

Sorry for being slow on this Kev - but where is the link for the Audioscape GB?? I do think though that having a 8 ohm load on the front speakers isnt helping.... Will a cross over solve that problem? As I believe the standard kit had a cap on the tweeters therefore acting as a crude cross over... ? -

Thought would bring this thread up again as the sound system really is bugging me now - my Pug OE system sounds better!!! So technically I am running 4 speakers off the 2 outputs for front? - So should I get a crossover? (how much?) or should I just disconnect them? -
Yup it was indeed autoglym tyre dressing... Polishing the wheels....

I use wonder wheels... If your wheels start turning green you are leaving the stuff on for too long  I wash the wheels using wonder wheels... then shampoo them with hot wash and wax... then rinse and dry with a chamois... and voila... you get this:

Its going to be a while till can afford the £1k suspension I want so new shocks and bushes / mounts is the way.... For now.... Cheers

I was thinking maybe Sach shocks with new mounts + Eibach springs? or just stick to stock height until get enough cash for coil overs? - if ever!

Hiya People, Ok a small question... My VR6 is coming off the road now in approx two weeks for the engine work I have planned (been a long time coming but been busy!!!) anyway whilst I am doing the engine work I will also be replacing the rear brakes but I also want to do something with the suspension. Trouble is my budget for the suspension is £250. I really cant afford to go for coil overs or roll bars like I wanted - other stuff to buy thats more important (renovating a house at moment) so what can I get for £250... I wouldnt mind lowering it 25/ 30mm to remove the 4*4 stance but I am more interested in tightening up the suspension as it feels a bit lose after 115k miles. Any suggestions? I can buy SACHS shocks for £120 I am informed...? Cheers Scott

You'd need brass balls to do that on the road

I actually find 5th is a VERY flexible gear for some reason.... you can boot it from 50mph in 5th look down a couple seconds later and your doing 80 - 90mph!
-
The trick with the VR6 is slllllllllloooooooowwwwwwwwwww in.... then very, very, very fast out
-
Yup my mates get the ump when I point out how my cars better than theirs....
-
Wouldnt touch an import.... insurance can be double in some cases.... Its why I'll never get that Supra Twin Turbo with Aero top and manual speed gearbox  Any Corrado VR6 with more than 100k miles should be checked out very carefully.... as mentioned the head / chains are usually first over that mileage.... Mines on 114k now and I have known for the last 10k miles that they needed doing.... its going to be done VERY shortly 8)

Oh yes I remember my first run of a VR6.... it was a good friends mint Corrado Storm and was when I had my 16V.... it was a hot summers day and at first I wasnt too impressed as it felt flat but I put that down to the heat. But when I put my foot down it certainly went... was a bit reluctant to give it too much beans though as my mate is worse than me for looking after his car  Anyway thought nothing more of it till I smashed up the 16V... started looking for a VR6... inspected and drove over priced heaps ... not impressed when a few weeks later I come across a CHEAP VR6 on Ebay... contacted the guy selling it who was a trader and sold all his PX's on ebay as he is a japanese specialist he wanted the Corrado off his garage forecourt... fired all the questions at him and seemed an honest guy - even sent me more pics to show eveidence, etc... Anyway 2 days later and £3400 (3yrs ago for a 1993 VR6 with 92k miles and FSH + 1 owner) and the VR6 was mine.... was now getting very nervous as had not seen the car... Drove down to Nottingham with my other half and my mate to pick it up.... turned up - it was covered in mud  - not a good start - the trader apologised as they had not had time to clean it but said he was more than willing too if I left the car with them - had just drove 160miles so it wasnt going to happen... so drive it first he said... - started her up and sounded very sweet...got in with the missus and pulled out of the top of the road... let it warm up and gave it some stick through a roundabout and up a bypass.... ROOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAARRRRRRRRR... my missus looked at me and I met her eyes and we started laughing our heads off ... we were buying it end of  - closer inspected found a dodgy headlight, split front spoiler, two bald tyres and the dreaded swirl marks on the paintwork.... Paid up and drove home.... caining it all the way.. On my drive when I got home was my old 16V... ready for the rummage of spares  - so cost me nothing to fix (insurance co. were no wiser either) and spent a couple of days polishing to bring her like new... 22k miles later and I still grin like a 13yr old school kid seeing a porn mag for the first time when those revs rocket  Scott

Personally I would get the whole side of the car done so it all blends in....

Whats the fastest you have ever been in your Corrado?
Scott replied to surfer.vr6's topic in General Car Chat
A genuine 150mph on the clock down the M65 at 5am in the morning.... -
Depends what you want from a car... Do you want something that is fast no matter how lazy you are when driving it? / refined? - VR6 Do you want something noisy / good point and squirt machine? - G60

Haha, I've not done that myself yet, but I'd be lying if I said I haven't been tempted :D I've done just that :D
