Hehe, yeah I think you mean Twinkies...

If you call Vince and have a chat first, he'll be able to tell you how long it's likely to take. If he can see you on a Sat then it's easy, otherwise it's best to take a day off work and spend the day there.

Hehe, how bizarre! I wonder what that would actually be like when you're blatting along at a fair old crack... and I wonder how heavy it is...

www.polevolt.co.uk are also pretty good :)

It sounds like the garage didn't put the dizzy cap back on properly, so I'd have some words...

As said - the early VRs had Pieburg pumps which you can't get or get senders for any more. All new pumps for VRs are VDO ones, which you can still get and still get separate senders for. Both Pieburg and VDO ones are 4-bar and the G60 replacement pumps are now exactly the same VDO unit as the VRs.

You can get most of them new from VW but not all of them. They're also scarily expensive. As they do just stick on, you can get some trim-tape from Halfords and re-attach them. They tend to curl up a bit when you pull them off though, so could be a bit tricky.

Going vaguely back on topic... I've been told you shouldn't wax the car for 3 months after you get it back - the paint will still be soft and lots of rubbing of wax could well cause fine scratches in the paint. Otherwise, no idea...

There is actually a Scirocco that someone's done up as the Back To The Future DeLorean floating about somewhere... it often turns up at shows

Some tips on keeping a convoy together
dinkus replied to dinkus's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Thanks John. Will add 1 now - it's a good point as lots of people seem to think they'll be ok if they're in the Convoy... at least having a vague idea of where they've gotta go is a good idea! 3 is already in there and  @ 4,5,6 :D -
If you're going to be selling it soon, just stick the normal Pagid pads or VAG pads on... they're 1/2 the price of the Greenstuffs!

Some tips on keeping a convoy together
dinkus replied to dinkus's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Ahh good tip - thanks Butterfly. I'd forgotten all about the route-planning side of things! Also added a couple of extras on the route too 8) -
I've just spotted this again... As the guys have said, the problem with the standard Corrado wipers is the arms are pants. People did some looking about for replacement arms and discovered that ones from a Lupo fitted (wish I knew who discovered this! ) However, all the modern cars have the Aero wipers on, thus you had to have Aero wipers when you changed the arms. Admittedly, I do think the Aero blades look cool, but that wasn't the purpose of going down the Lupo route to start with...

As long as he doesn't tell your mother what he posted...

Rectangular with 3 pins across, 2 pins down and a knobble on the bottom so it will only fit into the socket the correct way around. Haven't got any pics right now, but can get you some on Thursday if you're still in need (remind me  )

Tame "VW Dealer" and decent prices - UPDATE 30th Apr
dinkus replied to Andy665's topic in Suppliers Forum
Andy - is this going to be a TPS account, or an actual dealer? Was just asking because I don't think you can get parts club prices from anywhere other than TPS any more. -
Sounds very much like rear axle bushes. They get all soft and sloppy so the back end doesn't feel very planted.

I feel the same about my mates sister :help: You wanna hope (s)he doesn't read public internet forums

I feel a thread revival coming on... viewtopic.php?f=11&t=25633

How can I get my C onto a track without bashing the cash?
dinkus replied to staffs_til_i_die's topic in General Car Chat
Unfortunately, you're unlikely to find a trackday for much under £100 a pop. The problem is the rental of the track is very expensive, then you've got to pay all the marshalls, ambulance crew and such as well. As said - a pukka track day will get you a good amount of time on track, rather than just 3 laps in a Lambo. TBH though - unless you've done a lot of work on the car, you won't really want to do more then 3/4 laps before you come in and let the car cool down. If you're properly cracking along you'll start to set the brakes on fire and overheat the oil if you stay out much longer than that. Obviously you can go back out again after you've let it all cool down :) Also don't forget to take into account the cost of tyres, brakes and oil as you'll get through them at a scary rate! -
The thing I think is worrying is the guy that was caught "doing things" with his bicycle in a hotel room is now on the sex offenders register... WTF? Like bcstudent says - I think the guy's more likely to move onto motorbikes than he is children. There's a whole very special set of perversions you need to get off on children and somehow I don't think the love of paintwork is one of them
-
Heh, if you want a hard looking white car, nothing beats an S2 Exige... they look like they're gonna eat your children

I've got the entire dash out apart from the shell... makes access real easy, but possibly a bit excessive
