  1. How's about some official CF merchandise? :D viewtopic.php?f=18&t=70942
  2. Hehe, TBH I don't really see the point in splurging megabucks on an unmodified car, especially when I can pickup normal oil for cheap and change it more often. If I had a turbo and/or highly tuned engine and/or did track days, that'd be a whole different kettle of fish...
  3. I'm not really an expert, but the colder the oil is, the thicker it is. However, the better the oil is, the less it changes as it heats up. oilman has done some really good posts on everything you could ever want to know about oil, so it's worth having a search for his posts and having a read :)
  4. TPS are VAG's trade branch. You can sign up for an account if you're a member of the Corrado Club of GB and you get parts club prices on "consumable" parts like oil, filters, bushes, gaskets and such. http://www.thetradepartsspecialists.co.uk/ If you're getting the engine fairly hot, then it's probably a good idea to change the oil more regularly. Especially if your drives are often short trips to the shops or whatever as the oil (and engine) take the most abuse when cold.
  5. TBH, I feel much more comfortable using cheapo Synta Silver (£10 for 5L from TPS) and changing it every 6 months rather than forking out £60+ for Silkolene or whatever and changing it less often. The engine never gets that hot, so standard oil won't break down and if you change it more often it flushes the crud out.
  6. I completely agree. No matter how many times me and Toady go for some brown loving, he's yet to get pregnant.
  7. http://uk-mkivs.net/ is supposed to be pretty good...

    corsa seats

It's amazing what turd polish can do these days... But alas, I have to agree on those seats looking proper mental. Not sure if I'd want them in my C though... I think if I was going down that route, I'd want some "proper" race seats
  9. Yeah, I hear what you're saying Toad, but shirely there's a better way? Like MattWilde says, other councils don't do always do it, so there must be alternative methods that last longer, even if it's just a different type of surface dressing. I've no idea what the continental lot do, but the road surfaces in Germany and Holland are hugely better than they are here. I'd imagine they probably spend more money on them, but it'd be interesting to find out what they do and how their roads are so much better.
  10. I'd imagine they did, but it's still no consolation for £35+ of car you can't sell... Hehe, you're not going to be able to sleep at night now until that guy's actually picked up the keys for his Santa Fe...
  11. Sorry, but what are these inferior "Mega Bloks" of which you speak?
  12. Strangely, my dad told me about the car because he kept driving past it on the way to work every day. It's actually brand spanking new and sitting outside a Porsche dealership (not sure which one). Apparently a lady ordered the custom paint job, but for some reason or other cancelled it just before it was delivered (can't imagine why  )... so the dealership have been landed with it
  13. Apart from being completely the wrong colours and type of truck, you mean? What kind of a child of the 80s are you anyway??
  14. On second thoughts, I think I'll stick with the electric fence...
  15. Unfortunately I think it has black leather. White leather with some nice gold piping would have made it for me though
  16. Well guys, I'm afraid the sad time has come where I feel it's time to move on from C ownership. I've seen the car of my dreams and simply had to have it. I'm selling my C and taking out a bit of a hefty loan for these beauty, but I feel it will definitely be worth it in the long run. She's a one of a kind brand new Boxster in a unique custom paint job that I just couldn't resist. It's been good knowing you all, but it's time to move on to a new forum I've found of very friendly guys. If you want to catch up with me, I'll be posting on www.idriveabiggaypinkporsche.co.uk Thanks all Porsche.jpg[/attachment:1wcxls8o]
  17. So dragging this thread back up from the dead... I was on the understanding that you run Mk4 rear callipers with standard Corrado disks. If you use Mk4 pads, they're too thick and you have to shave them to fit. If you use late Mk3 GTI pads, they juuust about fit. Not much advantage other than getting a bit more meat on the pads. If you use standard Corrado pads, they fit fine. Edit: and as I'm just ordering up some Mintex M1144s for the rear - there are 2 different part numbers for rear Corrado brakes. The later chassis' had 2mm thicker pads, which sounds like it's the same as the Mk3s. The Mintex M1144 part number is MDB1377 for the late Corrado/Mk3 pads, however they're £50+ The early Corrado pads are MDB1382s and are only £36.94 which seems like a good saving for 2mm of pad! Also, Rally Design seem to do the best prices for the Minties.
  18. I seem to remember them being about 50 quid when I bought mine...
  19. I'd say your most likely candidates are the 2 parallel pipes the go over the top of the cam cover on the far left end of the engine and connect to the fuel rail.
  20. Yeah, -ve camber is top of the wheel further in than the bottom.
  21. Looks like it's a sealed enclosure into the door. The diffuser pad is just to break up the back-waves and stop them reflecting directly back into the speaker cone.
  22. My mum really likes my Corrado :(
  23. Hey, everyone's just trying to help out - play nicely please :)
