Hehe yeah, sorry. It's the speed controller box that'll have gone pop. Most likely due to a chimpy stereo fitter that will have pumped 12v down the wire coming from the controller box. As said though, have a search and I'm sure there's some info on how to fix/replace/change the speed of them.

Pretty much. I'd involve the use of a hot air gun to get them off though.

Chrome plated wheel bolts? (or somewhere that can)

Yeah, I know :( -
Yeah, there's a whole world of sound deadening gear. I'm not sure what the best under-bonnet type stuff is, but Second Skin also make some - http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/second- ... -4858.html It all tends to be foil-covered though, rather than the waffle-effect black foam that the standard stuff is.

Ah thanks zak maybe it's my bolts that are 40mm. And yeah, I have a feeling mine are also taper, but radius head does sound right for standard bolts. -
Yup. If it's the pivots on the vents themselves that are giving you grief, a little blob of grease on there should shut them up. If it's the actual ducting that's creaking/squeaking the only real way to fix it is to get it all apart and get the ducts covered with some sticky-backed felt. Problem is, to do that you have to the whole centre console out which has lots of hard-to-get-to screws which are often corroded in place :(

I'd wager reversing it back off a ramp... muppets though :( That's also an uh, "interesting" eyebrow... :?

The changeover was 93ish, but if your car's ever had paint, the bodyshop could have easily put the wrong ones back on.

 Ya loon! But yeah, the Damplifier is far thinner than most stuff I've seen, but does seem to do a far better job!

I think the standard bolts are 40mm, but I'll have a check this evening. If you're running spacers, you'll probably need longer bolts. You also need to check what type of heads you need on the bolts too. Tapered or radius. I canne remember what the standard ones are - I've got different bolts to match my Compomotive MOs... -
I think there must be something wrong with me - there's only about 3 or 4 cars there that I'd actually want even if I had the money :?

Ah champion stuff sir! 8) Alas, the pink encrusted ones are just wheel nuts, not bolts, so I'll have to pass :( Midland Tyres are sounding good though! I saw those wheel bolt sockets in Halfords, but they just looked like they were plastic coated, so still metal inside? -

Ok, so does anybody know of somewhere I can get bolts chrome-plated heads and/or somewhere in Berks type area that could do it? Gah, nothing's easy is it... hehe, maybe this question would get a better response on E38... -
Put up a wanted thread? I'm sure there's a place that make blingy chrome ones, but I'd guess that's not really what you're after :(

You can still buy late-spec headlights, but they aint cheap either (£150 a side?) What bit do you actually need? People often sell them second-hand on here and you can buy the lenses separately (again only late ones and £30 a pop). The reflectors do come out, so you can probably refurb one with some Plasti-kote chrome paint...

This'll piss on your parade, but the brushed metal Corrado badges aren't available any more. I think you might still be able to get them in primer black though. Not sure about the VR6 badges - they might be available in metal still, I know the red ones aren't available though. Edit: Dammit, beaten to it!

Easy tiger  You also got working heater controls

I wouldn't - the H&R springs are shorter, so you'll get a pretty crashy ride and probably bottom out the shocks and kill them fairly quickly. If you're wanting to do it because you can't afford Konis at the moment, it's a bit of a false economy because you'll need a 4-wheel alignment after doing each one which is usually at least £50 a pop. If you're paying a garage to do the job, the additional labour for fitting the shocks at the same time as the springs is nil, but it'll cost you the whole amount twice to do them as 2 separate excercises...

Standard fit on early Corrados. Late ones came with just a set of stripes. 535 853 813 A 01C RRP is

I think Awesome GTI sell them, but might be wrong... give 'em a call :)

If you pull the handle as if you were opening the door, the latch bit should rotate downwards.
