I don't think you have to unplug it, but it makes it a lot easier if you do. I unplugged it when doing mine and it was absolutely fine.

And the lovely burning of your leg on the car when you get out...
-
how do you tell if that has happend. My car had new rears just before i bought it but the handbrake is s***. have to pull it on darn hard to get it to stop the car from moving. Not a good sign. Apart from watching the caliper as someone applies the handbrake, the best way to check is to see if the small amount of rust you get on the disk after it's been raining disappears after a little run.
-
If it aint broke don't fix it :) Go with the VAG stuff unless there is something that gives a proven improvement. Another quite major thing that could be causing lousy braking is if your rear brake caliper(s) have ceased as it's quite common.
-
I know that the Pagid FR pads with the standard VAG disks do wonders for stopping power and pedal feel on the VR, but I'm not sure if you can get them for the valver. Changing the brake fluid could also help the pedal feel out if it's not been done recently...

Worth noting at this point that a US gallon isn't the same size as a UK gallon... :)

I know what you mean man, normaly i would just say "what a kev car, leave it for the clios and the saxos of this world" BUT its not the same as them. i dont think. yes its big but it flows and exadurates amazing shape of the C as appose to change it. you know, you can still tell its a C. I have been to some car shows and stair at a car for ages thinking "is that a saxo or a clio or just a really done up nova?", i mean they are overdone some much you cant tell what they are anymore. Yeah, my thoughs too. It actually looks quite nice apart from the wheels, which look freaking awful. I bet it doesn't have the go to back all the macho looks up tho :( And as far as the over-modding of Corsa's et al goes, I think that's the idea. Anything to disguise the fact that you have a Corsa has to be a good thing

Err http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewforum.php?f=12 ;) Edit: Ah ok, you're already doing that... hmm that's a damn nice C for a damn nice price. I've no idea why you can't sell it! We've got a large number of CCGB people that read this and then some enthusiasts that aren't CCGB members either. Failing that, autotrader website is worh a crack. It's only £15 for 2 weeks on the website only...

M Reg dark blue (could have been blackberry) C blatting down Church street in Saffron Walden last night... I tried to catch up to see who/what it was exactly, but I was only in my 1.2 Corsa :( Ahh the C comes back on Friday... :D
-
I should reall update my membership, because I didn't actually have a C when I joined... meh it can wait til next year :)

Ooh looks like a gud 'n. I'll have to see what my diary says...
-
Yeah, some very nice pics :)

Bugger, if only I'd thought of this last week when the bodyshop had the paint mixed up  oh well...

TBH the only people you're likely to sell your C to now are nutters (sorry 'enthusiasts') like us, which means a proper VW specialist stamp will be worth more than a VW stealer stamp. However, as jimsG60 says, if you already have a FVWSH then it's nice to have another one. Just get them to do the oil change and tell them explicitly not to touch anything else. Then you can get it serviced by a VW specialst that actually know what they're doing. As far as cost goes, it's only 55k so not a lot of stuff should need doing. The Servicing Guide should give you an indication of what needs doing though.

I quite like the chrome VW badge on the front, but it does look nicer with a colour coded grille. The later 4 slat version is a must though :) As far as engine badging goes, I prefer the red badges over the chrome ones, but it is tempting to just de-badge it. I also want a colour coded rear badge... is that something you get from the stelear pre-coloured, or a DIY job? (I'm assuming it's DIY for a fiver or £50 from the stealers)
-
Ahh ok, the idea was right :) Just not used to these silly small engines (hides from inevitable flame)
-
Cunning, sounds like a plan :D Nice Avatar pic too... you really need to get some Lupo wipers on there tho ;)
-
Problem 1 - you'd be amazed at how much people and kit weigh, so it could be purely down to that. It also depends on how fast you were going ;) Have another run on a motorway and see what mpg you get then. Problem 2 - It could be your serpentine belt tensioner (the tensioner on the belt that powers the steering). The symptoms are a high pitched almost squeal noise that changes with engine revs. I've no idea where it is in the engine bay on a G60 tho.

 it's not exactly hard to pinch the standard blades either, so that certainly sounds like a good idea. How about another note politely asking people not to put dings in your door when parked up?

It's beyond repair, don't even try. It will be far cheaper to get a (decent!) payout from the insurance company and get yourself another one. Don't apologise though, we won't sent the lynch mob round just yet  Just make sure you get yourself another one and all will be forgiven/forgotten :) -
i saw my first Golf Limited in person the other day...

I remember going to the VW dealership with my dad and nan looking for a car for her a few years back. We'd thought one of the Polos would be alright for her and the dealer pretty much told us to go and get her a Ford instead! Hurrah for your friendly stealer  -

Holy crap Batman, I'm glad you're ok dude that looks seriously nasty. Don't worry, like I said, I know if feels awful now, but if you're both ok then it's just money and you can now go find yourself a nice shiney C :)
