  1. From the BBC website.. Top Gear Sun 29 May, 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm 60mins On this week's show Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May find out if you can buy a stylish two door coupe for less than £1,500; a brand new supercar from Maserati - the MC12; Jack Dee is the 'Star in a Reasonably Priced Car' and a chance for viewers to have their say on the greatest driving song of all time. So kinda psychic powers... as in reading the TV listings.
  2. Dude put some tunes on loud (Out in the country somewhere not in town) Find a nice windy B road and enjoy yourself. You have a Corrado because it looks good, goes fast and handles well so remind yourself of that.

    newbie here

Looking good, you must be pleased.
  4. Bet your fuel pump is quieter too...
  5. and the build quality, panel fit, electrics etc etc....
  6. How true that is and it applies to the burberry covered chav brigade too
  7. And why is that when you stuck behind the aformentioned fogies on a roundabout they never seem to want to pull out...?
  8. For F's sake! NO NO NO NO NO!
  9. Car: 1.8 16v (For another month or two) Exhaust: Full miltek, oval tail pipe with JMR downpipe & ported exhaust manifold Opinion: Has never knocked but had an issue with the cat bypass pipe not sealing at the pinch end - sorted with no furthur problems very quickly. I like this exhaust its not intrusive until you boot it and I don't want a system that makes my ears bleed after an hour on the M4! Car also pulls much better from low down thanks to manifold and front pipe.
  10. Got e-mailed this - gets a bit wet up on the plain... Details omitted to protect the guilty
  11. Quality start to the new series, Five a side footy and a tank!
  12. Yes this copper was a trained pursuit driver and he was using a section of the countrys motorways for his top end 'testing'. While not the smartest thing to be doing at least it was a motorway even if it is just 2 lanes. BUT I have to say that twice the limit in a 30 is just reckless, there are people around at 4am in the morning and he could have easily flattened a milkman before he knew what had happended. I do speed, but at the same time I drive in an appropriate manner for the conditions and not at all in built up areas. 2p
  13. I have a gasket ported exhaust manifold with a full miltek system and JMR's custom front pipe. Already got a K&N panel filter fitted but thats it and the difference in low rev torque was really noticeable above the standard system. I can recommend this as you will feel the difference if you get it done. Can't give you any dyno figures as I am doing a 16VG60 fit but get in touch with John Mitchell - he is 16vg60 on this forum.
  14. Have to agree there Chris, "sort of a golf coupe" implies that the Corrado slides in the same bracket as a Calibra - the C was a parts bin raid but at least they used a lot of different bits to make a good car as opposed to using all of the Golf chassis. As for the classic status most of the cars which are regarded as classics, at least ones that have not inherited a badge - a la Porsche, are usally the ones the people remember desiring when they were new. A lack of production numbers mostly helps to inflate prices, and you rarely find a car regarded as a classic that is ugly and didn't do something slightly unique for the time it was built. As for which is more desirable its always going to be an original un-modified Storm that most people are after IMHO.
  15. Thats a bit cheeky Dave, its not that old! ;) I suspect it may be one of the earliest RHD 16v in the country as the car was used as a demonstrater for a dealer for as year before being bought by its previous owner.
  16. Yeah they are RM's - I do thing they look the mutts on the VW's of this period. Konigs are not too bad, but on some of the B roads around here it can get very noisy and jarring. Thanks for all the positive comments, might get off my arse and put all the pieces I have together to make a G60 16v!
  17. You can actually use both the S2 pistons and the S2 conrods as they will fit the standard crankshaft. The crankshaft in the G60 and 16v block is the same item so will be more than capable of dealing with the extra forces involved. On a manifold front you could use a cut down S2 manifol as well, it will need an adapter plate welding on for the G60 throttle body but it is a better design when using forced induction. Final advice would be to speak to 16vG60 on here, he runs this conversion and is a mine of useful info!
  18. Well I have finally got round to taking some photos of my car so here are a couple for your enjoyment.
  19. Well as usual it is, with the exception of Marks recent loss, the little things that tend to really get peoples backs up. Although you have to admit that if the other Corrado owner did take it they must have been having a pretty dumb day.
  20. Don't pull to hard with your back facing the windscreen, I did and cracked my screen... Got the bloody handle off though!
  21. Signed, closest circuit to me if you don't count the other old airfield down the road that Williams used to test at.
  22. "Police believe it may be someone who had been caught speeding." Bloody typical, what sort of genius does it take to work that out...?
  23. Indeed, bring out the GiT badges again :) Like the G60 badge but it is a VW descendant wearing it, not keen on the kompressor badge though.
  24. Must be designed to do it as there is a sodding great big lump of curved metal around where the bottom valance would normally be! That and the fact that they appear to be Welsh and there aint much to do there.... cue flamming...
