  1. Nice Nick, glad to hear they don't weigh a ton as well
  2. Fairies dont work they just come in and attend 'Card School' Was already 'de-coring' the other section of the TB, thanks for the tip about the bolt heads though flusted :)
  3. Lot of effort gone in it looks like a very good job but as with all things styling it's down to individual taste - and I don't like it...
  4. Yup, creating a smoother path for the air flow, you can see the old gasket marks on the pic above to give you an idea of area that was worked. In an ideal world you would take more out but the TB is not a uniform width so you would end up with a hole in it!
  5. Now that would be excellent, no more taking the rear parcel shelf supports out! Glad you are ok Nick, just make sure you don't do it again
  6. If you look at a 16v TB (Not sure about a VR) you will that VW have made the casting similar to the work I have done on my TB. Previously it looked like the picture below (Its the back but it will do) As you have air entering this area it creates turbulence because of the large flat area - this is very ineffcient as it creates excess pressure. By knife edging the flat lump you allow the air to separate cleanly and it reduces turbulence. The guys on here that have done this report an increased crispness in the throttle response (No turbulence to overcome) and a noticeable increase in acceleration (Improved effciency)
  7. Not at all Gavin... It was of course worked during my tea breaks  Can't let you know what the improvement will be Randal as its part of a larger package (16v G60)
  8. Er no more than 4 hours work.. air tools are good :D
  9. Finished knife edging my TB for my project last night at work, quite pleased with it so here is a picture.. ..and yes I know it does not need to be shinny but it looks nice and you can see you have taken all the sanding and filing marks out then
  10. I have been meaning to send a PM to Andi about this kind of thing. Would be good to get a poll up where we all stick in our exact paint type and trim code, leave it as a sticky and we can all see what we have and how rare (or not) it is. Could also add things like chassis numbers, engine numbers, mileage etc to build a picture of the state of corrado ownership in the country. If we had chassis and engine numbers it would be possible to supply the build month for the current owner..
  11. Dinkus, after a VAG fluid change 18 months ago this was the state of NickVR6's brake fluid... http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/download.php?id=19063
  12. Went past a red Corrado in Devizes around 3:30 Monday afternoon - had an FK grill so could not tell what model it was. Got a very enthusiastic wave though!
  13. Nah I reckon I spent more time stuffing my face
  14. Ahem, as its now daylight and my brain is working slightly better; it was actually one Sunday and last weekend to do the work listed. As Nick said we hit a problem with the brake compensator on the first Sunday and the spring discs for the front shocks were too small so we knew it was going to be a return visit. Also blead the rear brakes, there is a photo on this forum somewhere.. I would like to point out that we changed the fuel filter on my valver too. ('How to' coming your way soon Dom) Spent some serious time sorting out some 'lurve' photos for CW's thread too.
  15. It was a pleasure mate :D Hows the exhaust still making you grin?

    Hello

Er, yes and no. You need to support the engine and unbolt the rear of the subframe. The rack should then come out towards the back of the car IIRC.

    What Plates?

No Euro, That sort of thing seems to work on a Ford or Pug but just looks all wrong on any VW - personal opinion of course
  18. Ah another convert to the H&R setup - definately OEM +
  19. He was at it for over an hour and a half but that was with new Tie Rod ends, springs, dampers, hubs, lower wishbones assemblys and bushes all round! Darn site cheaper than anyone else at £80, there is another well known tuning company that charges £120 + VAT + adjustments!!
  20. IIRC they are Neil but you need to unbolt the two brackets that the rear axle bolts to - this is factory set. With the age of most C's these days it is better to make sure, the difference between 4 wheel align and just front is to make sure that when you set the fronts up the rears are running directly behind the fronts. After watching Vince run through the VAG set-up he has at stealth it is a very accurate and thorough process.
  21. Er, ok I will rephrase that then - it's only males that have a visible external appendage that raises Dr Dinkus  LMAO - Just noticed one of the sponsered links - two things at odds with one another!?

    Quiet

Heh, must confess to getting up an hour early when the clocks went back, wandered into the mess and couldn't work out why there was cling film all over the food for a few seconds!
  23. Er last time I checked and with my limited knowledge of anatomy it is only male appendages that rise - so is there something you want to tell us Dinkus, what with your pink avatar and all?
  24. NIce dom, good choice from the 3 rapid monkeys sat here, me, nick and 2cc.
  25. After a long hard all day session and Nick's nuts being quite tight, lots of pentrating oil used and a good drilling we all just had to relieve ourselves. 2cc being the seasoned star :elephant: that he is lead the way with the drilling.. .. it was then outside for a little 'al fresco love' :luvlove: After a hot sweaty day Nick now knows his ball joints from his big end
