Lowering springs 40 or 60? what people find best?
Yandards replied to juloesG60's topic in Drivetrain
Said it before and I will say it again, the best compromise between looks, handling and comfort is the H&R's with Koni TA's. Ran FK coilovers for a while and didn't like them. -
Er so does that does make Saturday VD Day? :?
-
Yeah and bet they all just rushed over to help Gav.... ...when they got up

Humn, badges badges badges - none of it works for me but as with all styling mods they come down to personal preference.

I have a Pioneer Avic-X1 and its really good. You can select from multiple routes, the ETA is usually spot on and its more accurate than TomTom as it uses vehicle speed data in conjunction with the GPS to work out inclines. Single DIN installation with a hide away box that sits nicely under the passenger seat. Will auto re-route for traffic as it uses the RDS-TMC system only thing it wont do is show you where the speed scameras are :? Also shows your lateral and acceleration G forces as a novelty!! As you are in Frome if you want to come and have a look at mine drop me a PM.

Sounds like the microswitch for the wash has gone tits up. Can get new switches and its not hard to change, or you could see if anyone is breaking an early valver and has one they can send.
-
Nice clean looking early example, like Henny says if you put it back to 'as was' when it was a press demonstrator it's bound to get a lot of attention.

Nice conversion looks really good. Just waiting on getting my crank etc back from balancing then its all go to get it built for E38.

Went to Stealth to get my wheels lined up, first trip up there and I can't rate Vince and his guys highly enough. Dinkus you need to get a new flyer though as the Seat owners club ones look better than the forums brief note!! And my car is straight so thats a bonus too.

Koni TA's and H&R's work a treat on my valver too. Its not too difficult to swap the springs and dampers over yourself but you will need a set of top mounts and a few other bits from the steelers first.

Changed the nearside inner CV joint as the new one that was put on less than 1000 miles ago had split, back to VAG with that old rubber crap. New plastic jobbers are much easier to fit though. Need to change track rods ends before my visit to Stealth on monday for a 4 wheel align.

Just tested my new brush from Halfords this afternoon, its bloody good and they do a range of shapes and sizes about £6.00 each. Brush has lots of really soft bristles so its ideal for my splitties, quick poke in and out of the cutouts and its done. Don't know what they call them but they are blue and black coloured and NO I don't work for Halfruads just trying to save people the hassle of using a toothbrush

Going up on Monday for a four wheel align, so its probably a bit early for you.

Just hit 77k today - not bad for a G reg!

Red G60 parked on a drive in Swindon out by Greenbridge, J2** HPO drive past it nearly every day and have only just got around to remembering the reg.

Just chucked headlining through altavista it came out as: "Mit einer Überschrift versehen"

I would get in touch with trading standards just so you know what your rights are, at least then you know what you can and can't do. Its not your or your mates fault that the garage accepted the payment 'off the books' though and regardless of who now owns the car the work should still be covered by a warranty. As for what you can and get back if there is 'sold as seen' or similair on the receipt you got from him when you bought the car then he is not liable for any problems.

I think that things can get out of hand because its easy to take something written as a light hearted comment and get upset by it. We all have different senses of humour and without the normal visual clues you get from someone when they make a comment it is very easy to be offended. We are all enthusiasts as many people have already pointed up and most of us are passionate about our cars (Especially corradowales in a public way  ) As such there are always going to be disagreements and arguments but if we can keep it to factual points and experiences and leave the PM's to do the bitching. 2p

On the opposite end of the scale you have had people with 16v cars in good condition that just cant sell them right now, or have ended up selling them at stupidly low prices. Have to agree with grade A - there is only one forum member that I know of that has a car as an 'investement' And after you drive one you won't want to put it away anyway!!

Holy crap Riley..
