On mine, I wrapped the invertor in a piece of neoprene - acts as soundproofing.

Big thanks to B5VWC for the instrument cluster parts :D

My G60 is now pushing 244bhp and 222lbft with a 1.9l rebuild and I still get over 30mpg on the motorway. Granted in stop/start traffic it is a little thirstier. As folks have said it's all down to how you drive them. As a day to day car, they are fine (mines a daily), however be meticulous about the charger servicing at the correct mileage intervals, especially if it has a smaller pulley, and don't take it above 3000rpm until it is up to temperature (80 degrees).

Looks really good mate :D. Been meaning to do that headlight mod myself for ages, must get round to it soon  -
Oh no, my dirty secret is out :help: me,

Yeah I'm a bit of a numbers whore. But I'm more of a geek. If it was just numbers I was after, I'd have gone 20vT or VR6T by now. I like trying to see what a nice little 1.9l 8v engine can do :D

Looking good Waynos - good luck with the 20VT :D

Couple of jobs done today. Sorted out the wiring for the heated washer nozzles. The mk4 Golf ones had different connectors, so I swapped over the ones from my old nozzles. Nice easy mod :D . Fitted a Porsche 3.5bar fuel pressure regulator too. With the setup I had my injectors were pretty much maxed out and I was still running too lean at the top end. Fingers crossed upping the fuel pressure will help with that. Just taken it out for a spin and it seems to run fine, no petrol smells which is always good, and it doesn't feel any worse which is a good sign. Will get it back on the dyno at some point just to check and see what it's done.

Such a good read Neil. I've got a N2O kit to go on, and your thread has given me some good pointers :D

As far as I know 165 906 381 relay (numbered 30), not sure on the 32 one (not got one to hand). Got one of the 30 ones knocking around if you need it?

I resprayed mine with fabric paint. Cost about £30 in paint. Is a reasonable finish, as long as you don't rub it, but then again how main people rub their headlining. If you have loads of spare cash then get it retrimmed, but to be honest given the cost try the respray first. I did everything, headlining, pillars, sunvisors etc for £50 all in.

Thats fine mate - completely understand.

Project Shadow - NEW ROLLING ROAD RESULTS Pg8 and VIDEO!!

No change unfortunately and I'm not sure exactly what the hold up is as they have plenty of members interested  I'll PM both jo(h)ns now and see whats going on. If they can't get their arses in to gear then I'm tempted to arrange one on here! Hmm, ok, and thanks for the update. There's usually about one CF rolling road session per year, so it might be a good idea to organise one here (hint, hint). In the past we've had them at Surrey Rolling Road and Stealth. Personally I like Surrey Rolling Road, but then it is only 3 miles away from me  . I'd be interested in one at Storm though, quite fancy a nosy round their place. -
Couple more pics of the underside of the bonnet, the Mk4 Golf washers as they look from the top, and how they are mounted underneath.
-
Good to meet you too Ed :D , and glad you liked the work on the light.
-
Wow, fantastic  What a fantastic build....

Lisa, do you if there has been anything sorted for that RR day at Storm - last time I was on NR, it seemed to have stalled  ? -
Went to Performance Trim and got the carbon fibre bonnet fitted :D
-
Good lad, removing the swage lines :thumbleft: . Always fancied doing that, but to be honest I don't have the patience..
-
Yeah, I'm sure that'll happen before too long - but thankfully I don't leave it out anywhere too much. I'm just waiting for some smarta*se to ask whether I'm happy with my stick on Halfrauds carbon effect
-
On yours mate, they look as though they are mounted on the top surface though, or is it a trick of the light? With mine they are under the trailing edge so you can't see them from the top.
-
Ok, quick update - Yes Mk4 golf washers can be used on te carbon fibre bonnets. The bonnets do need to be cut (the support underneath needs to be cut anyway), and they need some careful adjustment and using thin shims of plastic to get them pointing in the right direction, but they do fit and work better than the original washers as they produce a fan of water rather then 2 streams. No pics at the moment - too cold and dark outside to take them
-
Cheers guys - no pics of the underside yet and it's now dark and cold so I'm not going out again  . On mine it's just fibreglass for the structure underneath as I didn't splash out on an all carbon one. As for price they were £400 through the group buy (for my type - more for the all carbon), but I think they are now £500. They've done a cracking job though.

Went to Performance Trim today, and had the carbon fibre bonnet fitted (from the group buy on here). Big thank you to Mike and Lee down there - great lads, and I can thoroughly recommend them if you are wanting any work done.
