My Golf does exactly the same. Not so much grinding but a heavy "clunk" it usually does it after re-starting from hot. I was wondering if the clutch was dragging a little.

Synta oils are not available in bulk - or they weren't 3 years ago when I worked for VW. 5L cans would work out way too expensive for dealers to use in the quantities that would be required. We actually offer the Synta oils as a cheaper alternative. A lot of lease companies have it instead of GTX Magnatec because it's a fair bit cheaper.

Have you checked all your tyres? Unevenly worn and mishapen tread can give a wheel-bearing out type noise on the road.

I fitted one to my Golf and I could notice a slight difference. It also made the car a bit louder, which I liked but others may not. I got mine from Raceland for a very reasonable price (less than £40 trade) They don't list it for a G60 but its the same as there Golf 2 16V one. Quality and fit were both very good.

How much is the Subscription on these? How often do it need to be updated? Oh, and do they work? :roll:

Got to agree again with the Halfords gear. I use to work in Halfords for a bit so bought a load of it up on staff discount :wink: I use it everyday at work now and rarely get anything break. And when I do i just go back there and get it swapped. Job done. :thumbleft:

Depends how far you want to go really? I would say at minimum new top strut mounts-you can get uprated aftermarket ones if you wish. Or if you want to go the whole distance, you could fit poly bushes all the way through. Apparently they can be had fairly cheaply through GSF. It's just the fitting which can add up if you are unable to do the work yourself. Hope this helps

Halfords ones are Ok but dear. Go to your local dealer and ask for a Quantum or Genuine alternative. We stock Varta ones are they are shit hot. think you can get the biggest one for 40 odd quid.

Put Toyo Proxes T1-R's on my golf about a month ago. Can't praise them hignly enough. Extremely good in both wet and dry. :thumb right:
