  1. Lift the bonnet and check the linkages to the gear change arm (to the right of the engine bay when stood in front of the car) to see if anything obvious has popped off.
  2. Didn't used to wave at anything but other Rado's, but in the last few weeks I got flashed and waved at by someone in a Mk2 Gti and by some dude in an old camper. Wasn't ignorant, and returned the wave to both, but dunno whether they were just isolated cases, (maybe also Corrrado owners?) Suppose not everyone who owns Mk 2 actually "gets it", and don't wanna make a burke out of meself frantically waving every time I see a VW badge.
  3. Dunno about the technicalities of installing one, but I do know i've never really liked the look of them (even on the BM's) Edit: Sorry, not very helpful that, was it?
  4. Looks lovely that, mate. Beware those pesky pylons!
  5. God, am I really about to admit to these...? X reg 1.0 Daihatsu Charade (free from brother) : Blew engine up. X reg Mk5 1.6 Cortina : Suffered MOT death. C reg Mk2 1.8 Cavalier SRi (way faster than my C) : Nicked and burnt out :mad2: X reg Mk5 2.0 Cortina (stopgap car) : Ended up selling to a mate for demolition derby! C reg Mk2 Astra 1.6 SR (had that for 7 years) : Bumped it and killed it. J reg Mk3 1.6 Cav (No, I'm not proud of it ) : Got shut of that, then went and found meself a decent motor! Think the Corrado's been the only car I've ever had worth washing!
  6. The remote spot my missus keeps spouting has finally been clocked as M* VWC (Nice reg. Especially as she always sees it on the M6) The RAC 'Stalkers' website reckons this reg is a blue VR. That pretty much figures actually, cos my g/f said it was "Identical" to mine, and that's a burgundy valver!  Anyway... Anyone on here??
  7. Was nearly running out to my car in bare feet to try that then, but read on to see it wasn't on earlys. Bugger. So any No. 99 relay from a 2.0 or above then? Nice one. 8)
  8. Man. Those crazy krauts think of everything, don't they? :hitler:
  9. On outside temperature mode, when reading 27 deg C (as it was this lunchtime) my readout has the little * icon showing next to the number. Would've thought this only lit up to indicate icy conditions, but mine's permanently on. That's not right is it?
  10. Yep. All dressed in wetsuits, and on a trampoline. This place is like a second home for me (after the pub), but like you get in an alehouse sometimes, I've felt recently that there's a bit of tension going on. Hope it all blows over though, and ceretainly hope Kev doesn't leg it, or I may have to start getting my technical advice off the mad Welshman! :help:
  11. By the gods, I think he's onto something there! Why am I suddenly feeling the urge to sell up??
  12. In a Frankenstein stylee
  13. Looks like a corker that mate. Welcome to the pricey world of Corrado ownership. :D
  14. Cool. Want one Edit: But I'd be worried about parking it up next to my other toy cars in case the paintwork got dinked.
  15. Don't give up mate. You'll get there in the end. (you may not want to go back to the C after being spoilt with the panda though)
  16. A9X SJ, I've just had a full Miltek s/s system fitted to my early valver by those very people in that link above. Annnnnnd.... Can't tell you how pleased I am with it! Read both positive, and lukewarm opinions about Miltek on here, but that exhaust I got fits like a finger in a baby's eye, looks good, and doesn't sound like a top feul dragster. 8)
  17. More remote spotting via the G/F, yesterday. Dark Burgundy Rado, Southbound on the M6, somewhere between Preston and Wigan about 5:30 She managed to get a photo on her phone, but it turned out looking like this. (Lego-ey)
  18. Get stared at all the time. Dunno if it's the car, or my new gigs. These two didn't seem overimpressed with either.
  19. Don't worry about it mate. Was dealing with Dean. Nice enough bloke.
  20. LOL. he said it was in much the same condition as the one already on there. Told him to leave it. The bouncing when reversing has stopped now anyway, so maybe it was the shattered bearing and dodgy ball joints which was causing it.
  21. Seems like mine does have the 50mm manifold on it after all then. Would that explain why Awesome had to slightly modify the front pipe on the exhaust they just fitted to my car, or would that not have made any odds?
  22. How do you tell the difference? Mines an early valver, but the manifold aint got that cirular boss on the left hand pipe.
  23. Spotted one on telly last night. "A digital picture of Britain" on BBC3. Some photographer bloke takin a snap of an alehouse with a black Corrado in the car park. Front grille either been debadged of engine type, or it was an 8v.
