  1. gawd - theres so many, its embarrassing, chris!!!! Suppose the law of averages is that we've tend to do lots of car related things and the small percentage of odd occurances seems relatively high

:offtopic1: with the car or just a general statement?????
  3. ...i'm sure i read somewhere that the handling is shabby???? i quite like the newere style one and thought about one for the wife but resisted due to general bad press they get.
  4. Should this be in ICE, Exterior or General chaps??? Sure you'll put me right anyway. Another thread regarding aerials reminded me of a painful/funny ( I can laugh now) incident involving my current 'C' and current household pet. Thought it would be good to kick off a thread detailing unusual experiences, like mysterious multiple runaway silver corrado's  and other spooky unexplained things......... so i'll kick it off...... The first sign was poor radio reception from what was formerly perfectly adequate and caused no problems at all reception. Further investigation uncovered strange and unusual damage to the aerial of the 'C' - rather severe and teeth marks and general chewing of said aerial. Upon further investigation, these were accompanied by scratches extending from the front of the bonnet, marks up the windscreen and scratches to the roof and sunroof panel. After some deliberation and subsequent observance of the current family pet (dog) trying to chase birds from a tree overhanging my garden, the source of the damage started to dawn on me. Watching the scene as the birds seemed to delight in winding up the dog by chirping louder and louder as he barked more and more ( i swear they were throwing berries out of the tree at him!!) realisation dawned. I had the current 'C' parked up in the back garden and left the dog out on a sunny day. it seems in an effort to get to the cause of his torment - the birds - he thought it would be a good idea to jump on the car to get closer to them. from there, he climbed on the roof and no doubt stayed up there for a while, got bored and chewed the aerial off!!!!!! Result - one chewed aerial, scratched bonnet, roof and sunroof panel and dog with a permanent bootmark on its AR5E!!!!! Lesson to be learned - if dog, corrado and birds are in the same locality, leave bonnet open so the stoopid little sh1t can't climb up onto the car!!!!!!!!!
  5. there is - i've swapped a few around in my time and i recall at least one difference and thats the lead connection...... ....why did i have to swap one you may ask??????? well, sadly enough, I had the current 'C' parked up in the back garden and left the dog out on a sunny day. it seems he likes to chase birds and as the 'c' is under an overhanging tree, he thought it would be a good idea jumping on the car to get closer to them. from there, he climbed on the roof and no doubt stayed up there for a while, got bored and chewed the aerial off!!!!!! Reusult - one chewed, aerial, scratched bonnet, roof and sunroof panel and dog with a permanent bootmark on its AR5E!!!!!
  6. the wifey has had polo's for a while know and i find them great fun to drive and solid as rocks - even more so than golfs and the audi cab but not as good as the 'c' anyway, thats my VAG pecking order sorted......

varying reports of level of economy in reviews on parkers - one guy reckons he gets 30mpg from the v6 - bloody corrado - i don't like driving anything with less than 6 cylinders these days because of it

i know, its a peugeot so queue the froggy, rust bucket comments.... ...but i'm bored with the tdi for a winter hack and been offered one cheap - very similar to these pics - SE, all leather, v6. anyone had one - constructive comments, opinion/experience of these engines??? Chrisvr6nos - i know you enjoyed driving one - any more input????
  14. shirly a passat or seat item would suffice? - never needed to try it yet but whip it out and have a dodge into a local scrappy to compare
  15. get the highest price examples from autotrader and dealer websites - more than you'd expect to get - and submit that to the insurance company after they've gave you a ridiculous offer. i would also include a covering letter and ask them to buy the replacement car for said money if they can get trade prices as you will not and you've provided real world punter prices they may think you're taking the p1ss but will realise your expectations are high and they can't pull a fast one on you
  16. i've already had this priced up, chris, including laser etching - we spoke about it months ago. i've created the 3D sheetmetal geometry for drawings and laser cutting. "Here's one I made earlier - in the best blue Peter Fashion :)" Not very shiny at the mo though.
  17. i've had so many cars over the last five years but always had a corrado as well - pleased i don't have to choose but what i'm saying is, i've had brand new toyota's, fords, audi's etc company cars and always get in the corrado and it puts a smile on my face. whenever i fell like - should i sell it? - i drive it and the answer is always NO!

I was just checking out the pictures of the blue vr i had with grey heated leather the other day and how much i loved it and why did i sell it

agree with the heater comment - also, keep the sunroof well lubed up as you probably know they break frequently as well. ...queue further common faults below....;)
  23. heres some grey leather pics - don't know why i sold this vr cos every time i look at it now, i make myself sick....:( feel free to change it to red - loved that interior:( Why did i sell it!!??
  24. decent price with the spec/year - a cylinder head gasket wouldn't worry me too much if that was the worst thing wrong with it but that depends if your mates up to it - they're far from difficult to do.
