read in the past the 144 rods are better as the std g60 rods at 136 or 139 (?) spin the shells at high rpm. however someone like darren will correct me if i am wrong. as for piston choices - there are a few easy sources - gwerks sell them and may have stock. otherwise the likes of je dircet from the states will make pistons to suit the rods. they basically move the pin up

yeah thats right - they were on andy's car. i think the differences were that mine are coated rather than polished and the center caps are not the same. do you know where i could get the original center caps btw? cant find any - only the borbet a caps.... :( i only seen a brief picture of your car with them - tbh i love them.

Indeed - I should know - they are currently on my car. Are you sure about ET30? Positive my 7.5"x16" are ET20.

got a 4 branch on mine - great mod tbh.

what was behind you in that clip? -
thatr'd be advisable. but if youre not 100% sure i'd ask gwerks themselves

a lot of companies here just have folks who have been trained for the job on the phones - so you have to know exactly what youre after a lot of the time. its to be expected of course - but speaking to someone who really knows their stuff does wonders for installing confidence in the customer.

took my car to a paint shop in carnoustie - they did the paint work to the areas requested fine. However, the car was badly polished, washer jet heating harnesses broken, one of the bonnet catches wobbling around not holding the bonnet down, interior and engine bay covered in a fine layer of dust and the rear bumper had a 20p size of paint lifted from something being dropped on it. When i gave off to the guys - one started laughing and the other said 'i dunno, it wasnt us who worked on it'. WTF!!!! I don't understand how some companies remain in business. Negative accounts from previous customers spread like wild fire.... F@£$%^& muppets is all i can say.

on a private road i've topped it out several times at 143mph on the clocks - so around what the book says - it feels relatively stable and does not get shaky/rattley. I personally don't see the point in buying a 'sports' car, spending thousands on modding it, then not finding its new limits - seems a pointless exercise tbh.

my powdercoat finish is pretty durable - gets dirty and knocked here and there - no marks etc -
mk3 2L 16V is apparently the one to go for

had fancied one of these a while ago. tried an s3 - felt it was boring and had no character - looked nice and comfy etc - but coming from a corrado, it just didn't do anything for me. Yet to try an s4 avant - would be a great 'do it all' car for me as i go biking, walking/climbing, etc etc all the time. Just what has been mentioned above worries me - I can afford to fix the g60, but I would question whether I could afford to fix an s4 - especially the bi-turbo version. Does anyone have any idea of how much these things cost to run against a Corrado (G60 or VR6 version)??? I've since decided keeping the g60 for all out fun and running a cheaper estate car (currently use a 97 citroen zx diesel estate) for all the dirty duties of carrying bikes, boots, tents, food etc works great. Very cheap and no compromises anywhere.

Dundee again - I don't know of that many here but Doc seems to know them all!

what boost gauge have you fitted?
-
thats right. on the nearside. should be easy enough to swap over. the steering rack bolts have splines in them to try and hold them in place - they might be a little tough to move initialls - and access sucks if on axle stands but you should get it changed over ok.

Jonathan is that script on the wing mirror permantely etched on? loving the look of the car - those rims look great - like http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?p=567565

deciding whether to go for 215/40/17 or 205/40/17. I want a squarish profile on the tyre and increased comfort if possible on the 17". Rainsports are going on so that will also help. So prois and cons of 215/40/17 over 205/40/17??

shows you what a charged vr can do.... check this out though - how loud is that!
