  1. The comp mos are a great choice, I still love the 5 spoke mos too. But have to agree with others, I can't stand seeing oem wheels from other marques on vw's, especially with the marques badges on
  2. difference with the fans changed is around 12kg
  3. That mk1 is simply gorgeous - what a fantastic car to own
  4. More I believe the obvious ones yet to be mentioned are wheels, exhaust and fans
  5. a lot of those parts are vastly overpriced - the sump, rocker gasket being 2 parts that you can get for almost a tenth of the price from parts suppliers like gsf and euro car parts. any motors or critical parts i would get from vag, anything else thats simple i would look to save on. if you are keeping the 12v i would seriously consider what the chap above has mentioned - getting a vege built engine - will save you a lot of hassle/cost - bare in mind it comes without the bolt-on ancillaries - and at a cost of ~£1750, 12 months warranty and delivered on a palette for £40. Certainly would save you going through a trauma getting the rebuild done. C2 offer plug and play looms - not sure if they will offer one for Corrado 12->24v, but its all doable for a price...
  6. that a new plastic top cover? looks factory fresh!
  7. how easy is the sunroof to remove once the headliner etc is out?
  8. you can get custom driveshafts anyway, plus stronger cv's. That said I was under the impression the o2m was heavy even in fwd form. Is it absolutely necessary? Which box does a 1.8T mate to naturally anyway?

sounds like theyre warm from engine heat - rather than flowing oil are you 100% set on going 24v Hasan?

Chiswick didn't insist on exchange. Ruislip branch is awful in case that's where you contacted. To say I've experienced the worst service in the last 10years at Ruislip is a complete understatement - utterly useless.

Hasan - did you try flushing the coolant?
  15. I remember having to file a few down before - but as Kev says - I managed to get spare tumblers from the parts guys I was friendly with. Kev is that your garage? :salute:
  16. They look as good on yours as they did on zak's I reckon some AP's are what would complete the entire package... Were you considering RS' before these? zak is sure AP's fit behind them - Brembo's apparently do side shot is just rude!
  17. mine has the cables hanging too - irratating shaun - looks superb - much prefer them over the last rk's smoked plates? are they bought that way?
  18. Trev, would you mind keeping track of whatever you end up doing? Would be keen on this myself. Cheers!
  19. awesome work - would love to strip mine and do this work

No idea about the flush additive, though flushing through can't be a bad thing and relatively easy to do. As for the oil flow - changing the pipes is a simple and cheap job, though I'm sure Kev had a blockage and he replaced the cooler unit too. If you find a way to test that the cooler is not blocked then I'd just change the pipes over. Of course Hasan replacing everything with a 24v unit would be the alternative approach ;)

Hasan remember in traffic the external cooler gets no air flow - so temps can continually rise until you get moving again. In traffic (think M25 jam) I don't usually see more than 104 though, reducing to 96ish when going again. Water temps when on the move staying roughly around 85-90, only going above when stuck in the M25 jams ;) And thats on a new VAG water pump, 16row mocal cooler (half covered - keep forgetting to remove cover!) and recent oil change.
  22. No worries - cheers for sorting out some vgc door cards for me!
