there are loads of articles mentioning the g-laders high efficiency and most mention that they are more efficient than roots type or other designs are you sure that the lysholm chargers are more efficient, or just capable of spinning faster without grenading and therefore be able to produce more boost to more than compensate for any bhp loss you would need to measure the bhp loss for a glader and a lysholm charger both putting out the same boost pressure to compare them

i used this black fluffy stuff once before and found i had to keep re-tensioning it because of the sagging, it got worse in the summer too and that was with 6x9 holes
-
you really need to stretch that stuff quite a bit and use heavy duty spray glue and staples to hold it tight, pva wont last long with heavy vibration you can get cans of spray glue cheap from some carpet shops

please dont at least when im here  as there at least 2 rado's allways parked in the car park. nah the units are actually made in finland our servers are just based in runcorn. i spend most of my time in work repairing units that have been tampered with or smashed, and i fully understand why, as i wouldnt want one fitted to my car either.

what cloth did you use originally?
-
you can get some good acoustic cloth from maplin but its the fine speaker grill cloth similar to home hifi speaker cloth, but it contains lycra so shouldnt sag as its very elastic.

i fit trackers for a living and have one on my van and believe me there are soooo many ways to stop them working, and theres absolutely no way they can force you to fit a tracking system on a private car its just not going to happen and they will soon find that out if they run a trial. the trackers we fit are fitted to high value commercial vehicles for security, or chaufeur driven cars with panic buttons built in, but unfortunately some of the companies do use them for constantly checking up on their employees. http://www.actiontrack.co.uk/ click on demo (its actually my van which hasnt moved for a while as it got smashed into on the m6) quite frankly its quite scary when you can print out a mile by mile journey report showing speed, direction, ignition status or any other input you want connected and a possition accurate to within a few metres, i was offered a free tracker and free subscription to the full net service for my own car but i refused it as i dont agree with it for personal cars. it confuses the hell out of me, they are saying they want people to pay more if they use the roads more but isnt that what happens when you buy fuel? the more you drive the more fuel you use and the more you pay.

my 10 disc dvd changer plays mp3's too. hmmm 10 disks worth of mp3's how many tracks do you reckon that would be
-
you would end up with kids constantly drawing noughts and crosses and naked women all over it in chalk  my mr2 used to have a similar paint finnish in red, but that was just a result of not polishing it for two weeks  those stretched tyres look completely rediculous i cant see the fascination with it, i thought the idea of having wider rims was to fit wider tyres that just looks crap imo some with the slightly stretched tyres look ok but when you can see the back of the outer rim its a bit ott

my pioneer flip out screen did the same until i ran a seperate large power feed and clean earth to it and routed it away from the other cables, its fine now also screened ht cables can help a bit as well as checking any earth connections

DIY G60 rebuild reveals knackered charger with pics
coolrado replied to CaiosG60 PWR's topic in Engine Bay
yeah the swirl marks are normal and a result of the oscillating action of the scroll as the apex seals run against the casing -
my charger had initials and a date etched into it from new so double check that, try and find out where the charger was peviously serviced and then check with them if possible

industrial scrap yards usually have loads of sheet stainless in, usually still with the protective film attached and you can get it pretty cheap from some places anyway its bending it without scratching or denting it which is the hard bit

what is it with c's at the moment? it seems every day there is someone posting up about their vandalised, stolen, broken into or smashed up c was there any paint from the offending lorry left on it? -
remember they can only sue you if they see who beats the crap out of them, so either wear a balaclava or make sure they cant see anything by poking their eyes out with rusty spoons securilux works well if they smash the glass it shatters but stays held together and they cant get in, but i suppose they would just damage the car more trying other methods of entry
-
still gives you an idea of what styles suit the c though and lets you mess with the ride height demon tweeks have a similar thing in the fitting bay but that also lets you change the colour of the car and is more up to date

just found this while i was bored in work, could come in handy if your thinking of getting some new wheels and havent got p shop http://www.auto-extreme.com/wheelwizard.php

my 91 g60 on 120k has always been run on either synta silver or shell helix 10w40 according to the mass of vw receipts i got with it, and the oil level hasnt dropped any more than a couple of mm in months. i have still got the same refill tub of synta since i have had the car (obviously done a few oil changes in the last couple of years ) but have hardly had to top it up more than a dribble and i do push the car quite hard. so im going to stick with what its allways been fed as it seems to have served it well so far
-
is your spoiler still raising and lowering automatically? both my guages seem to dip quite a lot sometimes but both guages do it at the same time, i have checked all the earth points and cleaned out all the connectors, also my clock likes resetting itself, it never has trouble starting so its a bit confusing maybe the regulator is faulty

i think the standard seats are very comfortable and are great for long journeys or throwing the car around, my mr2 used to have adjustable lumbar support and adjustable back bolsters and i allways had the lumber support on maximum. they are certainly more comfotable than the seats in my bosses jag XKR R or my mates brand new golf IMO i guess its all down to body shape and posture but all my mates have said how comfortable the front and rear seats are in the c.
-
make sure they get the right bonnet for a start :| sounds a bit expensive for body repair especially as i was quoted £1200 for a full strip down and respray

but the crimped steel ends do rust quite a lot.
