  1. It's a new Cooper S with the Peugeot engine with 175bhp. The only answer then is that the VXR wasn't going at full pelt. Believe me when my mate is gunning off the lights next to me it's neck and neck and he nudges ahead at higher speeds. My car has 205bhp and similar torque according to Stealth after the Schrick. I'd love to get them both on Santa Pod against the clock to prove once and for all!
  2. I had exactly the same experience with a VXR off Junc 9 of the M40 on to the A34 towards Oxford. The VXR booted off and I was on his tail, eventually overtaking at 100+ but I think that's because he backed off. I have a Shrick manifold but none the less I was really impressed with how I kept up and came home and looked them up on the net and they are supposed to be 6.1 0-60 from memory. The car I just can't beat is my mates new style Mini Cooper S, that is super quick, even at higher speeds.

    ABS Light

I had this problem, the light would come on now and again with no pattern to when it did. However once on it would stay on until I turned the ignition of and on again. Rarely would the light then come back on until the next time I used the car. It turned out to be the brake pedal position sensor which plugs into the base of the master cylinder and was about £60.
  4. Hi all, Just to say I've had my loom fitted from Andy and I also bought uprated 100w main beam bulbs... the results are amazing! Superb quality and thoroughly recommended...
  5. I had one fitted recently in the group buy and was remapped too. I noticed a substantial difference in torgue but not really in outright acceleratin. For what I paid I wouldn't do it again.
  6. Don't worry about ARZ, I bought mine from them and they were here in 3 days - great service. I've had a slight fitting issue with the left hand one though - the casing is too high so the light sits slightly too low. They look great though imo, much nicer than any others I've seen with an oem look.
  7. I have KW V1 on my VR and love them. The ride is firm but not as bad as the favoured Koni shocks/H&R springs combo which I had on my previous C. The handling is superb and you can set the ride height to your liking. As a daily driver I don't think you'd have a problem.
  8. Top of the range for me but again, not sure I want to mess with spade connectors etc. Perhaps some illo's of what wiring up will be required would help visualise. If you supply a female spade that pushes onto the male connector on the back of the light I'd be happy with that I think... I'll PM you my number in any case...
  9. My old Storm used to be bad for this too but my previous Vr with twice the miles was never a problem. My current one (90k) did it a bit but I've had new bushes fitted in the selector bit (below gear stick) and new engine mounts and it's perfect now. My previous car was a 95M, this is a 95N and is only a few chassis numbers from the Storm so maybe Kev has a point re a dodgy batch of something?
  10. Sounds reasonable to me. I paid a lot more although with a lot of other work too. My tensioners looked fine at 90k so I was a bit miffed at the time but at least I have peace of mind now...
  11. Nathan and Ed from AMD are great guys and left there last year to set up http://autops.co.uk/ (APS Services). Nathan was the AMD VR6 man and has been great with my car - really careful and they don't rip you off - give them a try.
  12. I've just got my renewal through with Admiral - that's £358 which includes Scrick, Magnex and lowered suspension which I thought was good (I'm 34)
  13. Storm-warning, I don't know where the first set are from but not ARZ. LJ - You won't be disappointed, they look fab. Just don't be an idiot like me and put spade connectors on the wires - the original holders fit and you can use the bulbs they supply in your old holders.
  14. I agree! (Once I get the alignment right!) More pics attached
  15. Yes it looks much worse in the pic than in real life but I've adjusted it now and looks much better. Funnily enough they line up better than my old lights did, I think my boot lid doesn't close tightly enough but I can undo the bolts that hold the clasp down to adjust it.

    Rear Wiper

After trying to tighten up the rear wiper bolts to no avail I've now removed it... this is what I found, the metal bits inside the motor have worn away so there's play in it (the phot'd piece sits in a magnetic sleeve). This must be why it was creaking and no doubt would pack up eventually. question is, is this common or am I unlucky? Not sure whether to buy a second hand one or not....
  17. Oh didn't realise that, I used the originals on the tailgate lights but the others came with bulbs in and precut wires attached. I'll put some pics up in a bit.
  18. Hi, Pics attached as per request and the plug has one side with a protruding piece so I guess that means 1 lug like your old one.... Hope this helps!
  19. Hi Cazza, I bought one for my 95 MY VR last year from the dealers and it's perfect. It is part number as above (W251 965 561 B) and was 78.54 plus VAT. Not sure how many lugs it has on the elec feed but if you need to know I'll have a look in the morning...
  20. I've just got mine back today from having a new rear engine mount fitted (what a difference!) and have now fitted the lights....I too am really pleased, it was dark by the time I'd finished so will get pics tomorrow. I also had some dark side repeaters so I've fitted those and it all looks much nicer. The only nuisance is that the outer lights don't have the multiplug fitted so I've had to fit spade connectors to wire them up.
  21. If that's the one on autotrader it looks amazing - really original and straight
  22. Biscuit without a doubt - I love cream interiors, esp with dark blue...
  23. Cheers for the help guys, I've also found the repair kit on VAg parts - £10.95 instead of £60 plus at the stealers.
  24. I was quoted 2 hrs labour for this at £28 per hour by a bodyshop!!!
