you can buy a flushing agent that you toss in with the oil run it for a while (not sure how long, but not very) then drain it all. hopefully the sludgy stuff with come out too.
-
rear wheel bearing? or is the gearbox noisy in general? any oil leaks from it in the past?
-
yes. drain the excess and get the oil level right ASAP dont cane it with too much oil in. it can pop oil seals - not good if you find that your engine, from empty doesnt hold as much as it should, then it could be sludged up. then its "flushing oil" time.
-
at least they'll be good quality changing the discs too though?

I had a whole host of running probs on my VR6: poor / no idle unresponsive pickup (nightmare on roundabouts) poor starting (whether hot or cold) embarrassing at petrol stations oh and a petrolly smell. one (or both) of the 2 pipes that join the fuel rail was dripping slightly had been doing so for a few months now. i'd been looking towards replacing the pipes, but yesterday i just bought 2 hose clips for 1.20 each, slid the original clips back, and put these on. now its all fine with no leaks. it's probably obvious but i think my running trubs were down to low fuel pressure. the original clips were pretty worn. i uncompressed them and slid them back using only my fingers.

yesterday i bent my wiper arms slightly so that they apply more pressure to the blades. job done, they work fine now. thats all you need to do. my wiper blades have no spoilers either.

i run old school hiphop / turntablism in my c. not exactly easy listening from the likes of: d-styles, scratch perverts, qbert, shadow and a whole host of other scratch dj's. i too am a scratch dj. gimme a pdx2000 and a hak 310 and i'm happy. i'm an admin on UK based scratch forum - http://www.digitalvertigo.co.uk, and our members are constantly submitting tracks. on the scratch forums, i am "2ndhand" but for me its hiphop all the way in my car.

mine does that. i think its the brake dust cover catching on something. i think my swing arms are on upside down. i had them fitted by a "mates" garage. since then it has twanged on full lock. when the swing arms are upside down, the ar bar is on the wrong side. phuh mates. i have to swap them over its pissing me off.

110 up a hill aint that bad!!! the G60 should be quicker than the 16v, and way easier to mod. in standard form, the vr6 is the daddy, but all models have the capability to shred

here's the link for the "top gear" review that was aired recently, courtesy of jedi-knight .:. top gear clip .:. you'll need a divx player for this . . .

ditch the saxo while it is still worth something in a couple of years it will be worth a packet of love hearts and half a curly wurly. look at the cars objectively, rather than on "age" or mileage. you are DEFINATELY doing the right thing though bro. beside which, a saxo with 30k feels like a corrado with 200k (only with more squeaks . . . ) vtrs arent known for their longevity. at the moment its probably still nice and tightish (if the seats havent started wobbling yet)
-
cool i need some then. if i'm on the motorway, and it rains, i have to drive using my supersonic sonar radar . . .

whats the difference between lupo ones and c ones? incidently, my wipers are f-ucking shi-it

mate those rims look soo dope. but i am strapped for cash at the min. dang, i want them too. i have been looking at audi 5 spoke 16" rims (off an A6?) on ebay. i think i could get a set for couple of hundred, w/tyres. your's are nice rims though, and at the right price too.
-
whats the deal with the lupo wipers anyway?
-

good looking out!!! i'll try that.

dang i had been putting this job off for months as i thought that the cv joints were also pressed in. i think i'll take the hubs off, take em to a garage (with a press) and pay them to fit them.

My front wheel bearings are a pair of hummers. The car has done 150k, and they may be the originals. Now then, on my mk1 and mk2 golfs, i could whack the bearings out (then new ones in) (think of the "handy andy" song) i am led to believe that on my C VR6 the outer CV joint is pressed in, and aint no easy thing to pop out of the hub. the wheel bearings need doing though, and i'll put new outer cv joints on at the same time (i did the inners already - ooh that was fun) any special tools i need to borrow for this?
