  1. my vr6 runs like shit some days but it always starts immediately. poor cold starting may be common, but it is still a fault, and can be fixed. hope the ooolant temp thing fixes it!
  2. if i had a g60, i'd put that kompressor badge on it looks good.

    fuel leak??

umm yeh jubs are ok but they are a bit rough. try and get the smooth insided ones. certainly fix that leak on the fuel rail. it'll be nothing but trouble for you until you do. (and even worse a fire risk) when you find a shop that sells them clips (most auto-parts shops do) buy a slack handful of 'em. they are like a quid or so each. unless its a real "leaker" it'll only leak at the weakest place. so do the fuel rail, then have a good butchers at the filter, make sure all is dry. as for why the fuel rail pipes leak, well, it just happens. the original clips get weak over time, the seal gets weak. i think the types of clips vw use on the fuel lines at that point are unacceptable.
  4. sometimes, after a car has been standing, it just needs a good CRANKING if it ran fine before, it should do now. go through the basics - check your dizzy cap and rotor arm - scratch up the contacts if they are looking furry make sure your battery has plenty of charge too. make sure the earth strap is good (not good means slow starter motor turnover). maybe even a blast of wd40 on the ht leads (but NEVER NEVER NEEEEVVVVEEER in the dizzy cap) hopefully that'll coax it into life. failing that, try a bump start, or tow start. i've had many 4 cylinder golfs over the years, and some have needed a bit of convincing to start after a break. once they have been run up to temperature, they start fine everyday. some, however, start instantly, no matter how long they been left for. do all the above and let us know if its ok

    twin carbs

i was advised to stick to injection, and pursue different routes for more power when i was looking at running carbs on one of my golfs. twin carbs make a big difference on a car that has one carb already. ie - the old fiesta XR2's would go lots better on twin 40's it would take a lot for an engine to be tuned outside of the capability of fuel injection. until you reach that point, stick with the injection.
  6. which bearing are you referring to? do you mean the wheel bearing? or are you talking about the ball joint? either way, its hammer time.

super nice looking corrado! in the best colour too . . . . :)
  8. lol white yeh i know they look nice on golfs. i walked past a mk2 that had them on yesterday i see no reason why they shouldnt look good on a c.
  9. in my 1.8 16v golf i'd go by about 320 to 340 miles out of a tank. its just one of them things you just have to try out over time!!!!!!!!
  10. good looking out there! changing vital shizzle like this always gets overlooked. (i know i have)
  11. no they dont have a light my corrado goes for a long way on empty i think the fuel gauge is getting lazy!
  12. word. they are nice wheels though. they certainly look nice on golfs!!
  13. i just bought a "phoenix gold" 10" sub off a mate for 20 quid. he assured me it was a good speaker. and it is! it sounds really good.
  14. scan the pics dood!! and post them in this thread. in fact type in all the words too
  15. i wouldnt have thought so.
  16. check this page: http://www.europeanspeed.com/wheelweights.htm
  17. i fitted m3 style mirrors to my mk2 golf (the one in my av) however i bought (at a bargain price) LHD ones. they are flucking useless (but look cool) as for what would fit. well. you need to cruise the ad's in PVW, or even max power and find a set if mirrors that you can tweak to fit
  18. mine look like they have been chewed by a dog too. where can i find this dog?
  19. its a fooking good looking car there bud. i am suitably impressed.
  20. looks dope mate. further reinforcing the fact the corrados are best in black :D
  21. mine cuts out when i let my foot off the loud pedal and sometimes it dont idle too good. sometimes its hesitant under 2000 revs. i doubt the fuel filter has ever been changed, and its done 150k !!! is the vr6 ff in the same place, OSR wheel?

    fuel leak??

it may be that your new free flowing filter has upped the pressure and found a new leak (bit like when you change one box on a leaky exhaust, the extra pressure forces the others fail) i had a fuel leak there, by the rail. go buy some hose clips (the smooth insided ones, with bolts, not jubilees) slide the old clips back up the pipes a little, and fit the new clips. this should work. if it doesnt, then the pipes are too manky just to "re clip". you could either cut a bit off the pipes, and reattach, or replace both pipes. before doing so, just spend the 2.50 on pipe clips and re seal them.
  23. a pvw test showed best gains with a panel filter and drilled airbox. but an induction kit looks nicer under the bonnet. you have to choose between looks powerful and is powerful i guess.
  24. i think i paid about 350 for a catback JETEX stainless exhaust its a really good exhaust its as quiet as the standard one, but is 3.5" front to back. fat.
