  1. Schoolboy error, looks like the pipes for the handbrake at the back are corroded
  2. Cressa? Would you mind posting me a link to the valve? I seem to be getting ones at £200+... Did your auto factors do them in cunifer or copper? Thanks Seanl82, will do, thanks
  3. Just dropped Volksworld13 a note on that thread - thanks Dox. Is there any alternative to the bias valve? I had a spare (used) one years ago but remember it seized up completely from sitting in the old damp garage so i threw it away. New ones seems to be silly money now..
  4. Hi Alex, are you still making these? Need the two rear ones for a VR. Are these made with cunifer? Many thanks Hasan
  5. 18 year thread revival.. Rear brake pipe (drivers side) is corroded under the rubber lined section. Any recommendations for product and anything to be aware of? I assume it might very well be seized into the brake bias valve... Best to replace both sides at the same time? Thanks Hasan
  6. Great write-up, thanks for sharing. I'm quite interested in your heated seat controls - looks like a good modification Hasan
  7. Those look impressive, I'm sure a lot of effort and thought will have gone into them.
  8. Well looks like mine had a bodge from who knows when. The retaining foot had had been snapped off and instead it was being held on with tie wraps looped together. Great. Not much i can do apart from perhaps getting a replacement. I'll refit this for the time being. Anyone have a drivers side one spare?
  9. Many thanks James. So its just the fact that the barrel is not clearing that it wont move away - good to know. Might warm it slightly before trying to remove. s there anything on the opposite end holding it secure, like a rolled edge or lip? mine seems to be restricted at the top corner for some reason..
  10. I'm struggling with this. Removed the screw and tried gently moving the triangle with a trim removal tool. It just seems to want to rotate on the top but not slide back. Any suggestions? Thanks Hasan
  11. Agreed, ebay is really risky. Similar experience selling a head unit. Buyer said it didnt work, sent it back wanting a refund and put in a complaint. Gave me negative feedback. And I had to pay their return postage. I tested it and it was perfect. Sold it it to another buyer who seemed to love it! Best to sell car stuff here..

i have some Glaswegian blood in me somehow! I'll have a look on Ebay but for the moment i've used some grey butyl tape, stretched to thin it out and seems to be ok, plus matches the original colour
  13. you just continually shift the bar higher James! Thats a good tip on the rear door cards - mine have also have a snapped (but still attached) corner piece. I've never used fiberglass before, is it difficult to use? Hasan
  14. JMR, like Stealth, are also excellent. Jon is (used to be) a regular here and his knowledge is really second to none. See his 16vG60, which is phenomenal. I'm sure he will advise you a feasible solution within your budget
  15. Congrats Sean, hope you do stick around, it's always a shame to see established members move on. Funny thing with the forum though is the community spirit even with those you've never met in person

Actually I've got some 1mm neoprene sheet which I'll prob use. Rather than a recessed seal I'll put it over the whole base and seal the recess which held the old seal. Good ideas there Dox!

You mean like creating a silicone-filled tube of heat shrink? That sounds a good idea. I've got some small syringes, just need to see if I've got the right length of heat shrink

Just took mine off to clean and the seal has perished. I've been experimenting with some thin walled silicone tube which fits in but its slightly too thick and wont allow the light to sit properly. Trimming it causes the edges to splay out and they dont do much sealing! Any other ideas? Mine are clear repeaters, not the orange ones Thanks Hasan
  19. Based on the clicking noise, perhaps your starter solenoid is stuck. Try tapping it with a piece of wood - might free it up to start the car. Also check the wiring to the starter and solenoid.
  20. great result on the steering wheel, some good effort there. I think the sunroof doesn't actually seal on the outside, it's the inner part of the cassette that does the sealing. Also, the front does sit lower than the rear, by 2mm - i'll need to check in Bentley to get the proper heights
  21. Good suggestion regarding the static radio channel. Basically when you press the centre of the cone it sounds like it's scraping against the coil inside.
  22. My door speakers seem to have gone a bit scratchy but having a search on YouTube they can be rectified by running a low voltage signal through them for 10 or 15 minutes. The question is how do you create a signal without a dedicated signal generator? Anything with a normal home amp and cd player perhaps? They're components not 3-way speakers Thanks Hasan
  23. Impressive stuff! How are the panels held in place? Magnets perhaps?
  24. Not a bad idea, but i do prefer the aesthetics of the rotary controls tbh. Shame they're made out of cheese. I've also got a climatronic box and digital panel in the garage if i ever feel very adventurous...
  25. As a preventative measure I've bought some Mk4 heater controls. Slightly different but seem better built than the originals. Just need to figure out how to adapt the cables to the heater box
