Thanks chaps, will check both fuses & relays and will reset the ecu again.

Sorry (VR6storm), forgot to mention I already VAGCOM'd it and no errors (at the moment!)

As per the heading, whilst accelerating (2000 rpm) the engine cut out briefly and then restarted. It did this a few times before the 1 mile trip home. It was similar to the cutout sometimes faced when pulling up to a junction which is usually attributable to the ISV being dirty or the throttle body being a bit mucky. I've recently cleaned out the ISV, which wasnt too bad, although didnt do the TB. The strange thing about these cuttings out is the fact that I was accelerating, albeit not too much as the engine had to warm up. Ideas chaps? TIA

Absolutely. Not sure what you mean by the reflectors being in the lower half - do you not simply spray the orange indicators in their entirety?
-
I guess you could simply mask over the reverse lights when you want to tint the rears - that way they'll stay white. I'm adding this to the summer planning list.

Certainly on Autoscan it doesn't allow me to clea the codes. When I scan each unit in turn eg brakes, transmission, these can then be deleted. Just a point, after clearing the codes, what kind of a drive is needed to check if they appear again? I cleared all the codes, took it for a short drive and then rescanned. Result: no fault codes. Now does that mean i need to go for a long hard drive, or, if faults are present, should they appear immediately?

There are loads on ebay if you want something different.

The noise is the same as that when the aircon is turned on to normal (not max) with the engine off. Is it normal for this to happen when the fans trip in? And does it make a noise on anyone elses aircon C? Thanks chaps.

My rear bearings have been sounding a bit dodgy recently - havent replaced them yet but it looks like the rear (LH) stub axle is crooked. From a distance the wheel looks like its pointing to the right ever so slightly, which I guess may be the cause of the noise and bearing wear. I'm going to get the tracking done but if it is the stub axle, where can i get one, how much and is it fairly straightforward? What tools will i need? Thanks all.

I posted a thread sometime back called "hissing when getting hot". Basically when the temp would hit about 108C there was a wheezing-type noise as the fans tripped in. Turns out that this is the same noise when I turn the a/c on (norm not max) with the engine off. The system needs to be regassed but all you privileged lot with a/c does this also happen to you too? And should the flap movement cause a hiss? Why does it move anyway when the cooling fans trip in? Thanks

How exactly do you remove the cover from the seatback - Kevs guide in the How-to only covers the seat part? The leather on mine has worn a bit - previous owner was a bit of a larda**e - and has a small hole in one part. I need to put a leather patch behind it and repair the surface as most of the top coat has worn away and its almost suede in parts.

I think there's a post on that somewhere - something like warming the strip to soften the adhesive and then gently removing step by step to avoid paint damage. The n the paint can be cleaned up with some white spirit or something. Mind you there may be a colour difference with the rest of the door, so either use t-cut (terrible stuff) or get the door resprayed.

My drivers side door rubs the door strips when its fully open. Thinking of sliding the wing forward to alleviate this. Two things - is this the best way and if so how do you loosen the wing? If not, what would be better? Thanks all.

And the leds on the jet nozzles.....NOT!

I'd agree with Kev and leave them on, but colour coded. You do also get the prats who just have to open their doors too hard and make some dents so it will help. PLus they wont be difficult to touch up if needed.

Kev, is your, errr, pipe the standard VR one?

I'm going to try the local upholsterers this weekend and see if they can sort something out.

seems as if Autosol is just a chrome and aluminium polish - or so it says on the tin. I've got some good chrome polish, so is it any different? No mention of stainless steel, although as i mentioned earlier mine is the original VR tailpipe and may just be mild steel. What dya reckon lads?

Sorry to hear it bud. Hope you get a decent clain form the insurance. I'd be interested in your wheels too!

OK, so its normally (read crap) like that.

Does ebveryone have to lift their boot lids about 2 foot before the springs carry it up to fully open? Can be tricky when both hands are pretty much full of stuff, like my kids! Dont think the springs are dead as it holds the boot open very comfortably and doesnt collapse at all.

Gentlemen, Seems like an obvious one but my version of VAGCOM doesnt allow me to delete the error codes when you press the "clear codes" button. Its registered through RossTech, but the only ones I can remove are the ones shown in red after the scan. Something I'm doing wrong? Thanks
