Not hydraulics mate, pneumatics. Hydraulics relate to liquid, pneumatics with gas (air). Anyway, what you can do is to disconnect the pipe and blow down it - you'll unlock the doors but it'll help you pinpoint the leak.

I'm planning to spray some of the dash area in brushed alloy over the summer, plus redoing the glovebox door in leather, but this is still at the planning stage. Same with the engine cover etc, time permitting.

Yeah, but with the leds on continously that'll drain it down in no time, hence the requirement for a separate supply.

Evenin all, I've got a digital thermometer for inside AND outside temps which I want to hardwire in. It uses a standard AAA size 1.5V battery. Any ideas where I can tap a 1.5V source eg by say stepping down the power from the cigarette lighter? If so, how's it done? I will be wiring in some blue leds so its on all the time the ignition is on. Cheers

actually chaps, i've got an original VR exhaust which may be mild steel, although there's no rust on it yet leading me to think it may be stainless?

willwoll100, that's one cool lookin VR m8. What wheels you running there? superb bud.

Hi and welcome aboard. I was in Beirut a few years back - fantastic city, absolutely loved it and the food was fabulous.

Ah Furki, you're talking about the clip-on part which sits over the handle bolts - yes this leather and stitched, the rest is just plastic.
-
Actually, more important than just cleaning it is to relube it afterwards, or you may find the problem is worse due to sticking. Use a good silicone oil spray and this should help the ISV. I think someone has mentioned how to pulse it through VAGCOM somewhere on the forum to check its operation. HTH

Full leather is a bit of a misnomer - eg the seat backs are vinyl as is most of the door card. The only area that's leather is the elbow rest (dont know how else to describe it!) and the small area surrounding it. You can easily check how much by looking at the grain of the material - the vinyl part is too even. The rear panels are full leather though - I've got a beige interior in mine. And no, the grab handle is ABS plastic, but I'm planning on leathering it this summer.

Can you just use a large G-clamp instead of the caliper wind-back tool?
-
Yep, its stainless, but I'll get some Autosol and give it a try, plus the Scotchbrite to get off the major crud. Funny how such an innocuous looking item can affect the appearance so much. Anyone tried Brasso then, as per Ford?

Chaps, My exhaust tailpipe looks a bit dull, compared with the rest of the car. Doesnt need replacing at all and I dont fancy one of those chavtastic bolt on pipes. Any idea what to shine it up with? I've used chrome polish but without success.

It also helps to reduce the static buildup from the road and as a side-effect this minimises radio interference. It is located on the passenger side of the bonnet by the hinge and attaches to near the base of bonnet (ie near to the PS scuttle). You can easiy replace this with some flex provided the rating is similar (a couple of 2.5mm cables)

You probably havent seen my car cos its been off the road whilst I find some time to work on the little jobs that need doing! I'll keep an eye out for your motor as I often pop across to the gym in Alperton at lunchtimes. Who did you deal with at Yaash? I spoke to Sunil on the phone, who seems a nice chap, and Dipesh, who was a bit grumpy.
-
Stel g60 where do you work? I'm based in Park Royal. BTW, how are they pricewise (ie have you compared them to anywhere else? I've also been recommended a company called Custom Service in Hayes who are very helpful on the phone, just not got round to taking my motor there.
-
Has anyone used Yaash motorsports in NW London? If so, what was your experience and what DINT you like? They're quite close to me so I'm thinking about taking my C there.
-
Petermunns, only lost a tenner but the principle of it is bad. Puts me off Ebay a bit.
-
Yep, look good and as OSV says bit of T-cut and polish and they'll be superb.
-
Welcome mate. Hope you find the forum enjoyable and useful. BTW I've got an auto too!

I just called the helpline and he told me straight away after I gave him the chassis no that they had replaced the cooling fan belt. Seemed a little too quick to me tbh - almost seemed as if they didnt want to know. I've asked him to send me a confirmation of this, so at least from the legal perspective I'll be covered. Should have asked when it was done though.
-
A little aside - Petermunns how did you get your money back - I've sent a cheque to the seller but he hasnt delivered anything as yet (been several weeks) and hardly responds to my emails. I'm thinking of the baseball bat approach....
-
tbh if you can improve the suppleness of the leather and the cracks are not too obvious with a suitable dye then that is pretty much okay. I dont believe in those crack "fillers" - plus they cant be very long lasting on normal aniline leathers and the punishment that seats tend to get.

Not bad, similar to the RHs as per OSV and kevhaywire. How much?
