  1. Of course they want to move on, they lost! I'm not overly impressed with the fact they tried to bomb the crap out of us aswell
  2. I hear that the rallye rear floor pan is being sold by the dealer again
  3. they get sticky and dont return properly when released, mega common problem as the design isn't all that cracking
  4. if you were closer to me then i would take a look no problem. you are more than welcome to come to me though :) it is quite often difficult to diagnose these sort of problems in person let alone across the net. i can understand you wanting someone to drive the car as people have different perceptions of how a car feels. unfortunately when a car doesnt feel "quite right" it can be a combination of little things or a part starting to fail under load. i guess that you work with computers, so you could compare it to a computer running slow if you like... its probably loads of little things but they all need addressing (replacing) before it feels right again. im sure all garages would go through the same process of replacing components until it solves the problem. if you can replace the parts yourself it would be alot cheaper. the usual suspects are: track rod (tie rod) ends bottom ball joints wishbone bushes top mounts rear axle bushes duff suspension
  5. When i sold the engine, everything went, gearbox, ECU, loom etc. In answer to your question Pete, i'm not sure whether the original mounts will be compatible with the new gearbox, my guess is probably not, but I'm some what inexperienced when coming to something this major, so we'll see how it goes? that's cool, it's much better to retain as much of the new loom as possible anyway, so you've forced your own hand on that one! as for the box, i would have thought (can't confirm though) that the original corrado box would have gone straight onto your lump, meaning you could retain the oem driveshafts/mounts etc etc. as it is now, i don't think the 6-speed box will drop straight onto the mounts; you'll probably have to chop them about to make it fit. also you'll possibly need to get some custom driveshafts made up due to different lengths/fittings (but you won't know without trying). best of luck with it all anyway - looking forward to seeing how it all comes together :D[/quote:2i6ppf70] i think that mk5 gti box will bolt straight in in place of the g60 box as its like an 02A box rather than a mk4 6 speed box. thats why im offering to swap with him!
  6. thats the million dollar question at the moment! when you back here?
