Not a fan myself, but we all have our own opinions. I do find road wars amusing though!

you can fit a polo 6N oil filter which is shorter than the stock one
-
did they take a DNA sample from you so they could put you on their database while they were there?!

get a picture of the offending item up. not convinced myself. never been a problem for me

Powerflex or superpro bushes on the rear axle, easy to fit. Front wishbones need the mk1 tt rear wishbone bush as it's a solid bush. You can you poly bushes on the rest of the front, you won't feel and difference in ride quality and the are easier to fit that genuine bushes as the poly bushes are mainly 2 piece items.

Name and shame. Who says the power steering pump even works properly? It might not be suited to the rack

that is a fair point, but the same could be said for any modification. Or indeed any maintenance if the person is unqualified. -
NEW CORRADO FORUM INSURANCE SCHEME VIA CHRIS KNOTT INSURANCE
Rob_B replied to ChrisKnottIns's topic in Insurance
How come you don't insure engine conversions without engineers reports? That narrows this market somewhat -
Steering seem to be very heavy - any idea what might cause
Rob_B replied to Mawrick's topic in Drivetrain
nah it's easy peasy. Try jacking the car up a bit and getting both wheels off the floor and turning full lock left and right, that usually helps remove the air locks (with the pas tank cap off) -
THE CORRADO FORUM INSURANCE SCHEME WITH CHRIS KNOTT
Rob_B replied to ChrisKnottIns's topic in Chris Knott Insurance
I couldn't get a quote because my engine conversion doesn't have an engineers report. Not good -

yeah i dont bother going to their meets anymore. i dont really go to any to be fair, far too busy with my own stuff at the moment. i ought to get out to some of these things with my car though, its good corrado weather!

Best way to undo the front brake pipe to hose connection
Rob_B replied to Fanjita's topic in Drivetrain
you need a proper brake pipe spanner on the top, then you can cut the pipe if you cant get it undone and use that as a lever while you hold the spanner still -
Nope, bought it from Stoke! I've travelled for most of my cars :? no worries, just thought the plate looked familier from a car that was round here. was a ottenger vr6

i think ive met you before at an ec dc meet at the range in norwich did you get your new car locally?
-
yeah i think that happens alot. Clive would have done it im sure, but i bet he would have said that it wouldn't be worth doing as you wouldn't gain alot for the money. he knows his stuff though. there is another rolling road in the city and one on my side of the city though. ive been to SCA but not the other one. Ive always had top service from Clive so ive no reason to go anywhere else. did you have a green VR?
-
surprised you havent got access yet, try emailing them. they meet every other thursday i think and some sundays. i dont often get a chance to go to the meets, but they are going to northgate vw in bury in a couple of weeks on a thursday night, so i should be going with them then. Attowes are brilliant. Dan mapped my car and its spot on. just going for a fueling check on sat. Clive is straight talking and wont give you any bull. which can come across as blunt sometimes. what did you have done there?
-
yeah mine is on the road, taking it to clive attowe's on sat and should be putting y new wheels on this weekend aswell. do you ever go to the dubgeneration meets?
-
I'm the other side near Dereham

Hi Rob, I slackened it off, but I will probably remove it altogether on the other side, as I had to jack the wishbone up to stop the ball joint shaft from turning. Once i jacked the wishbone up I had to use the forked extractor again to get the balljoint out  ah i see now. it has a different hub to mine. mine has a pinch bolt that runs from front to back, yours is held in from the nut on top. where abouts in norwich are you then?
