  1. I think with the mot's if the bushes are worn or sheared then theres a risk of the bar scraping the ground and catching, thats why the car would fail. If there was no bar at all it would probably pass. I still wouldnt remove it though.
  2. If you remove your front arb you will end up with exessive oversteer, some people do this for track use as it can make it entertaining driving with the back end out everywhere. On touring cars they disconnect the front arb in the wet only, to decrease understeer. Leave it the way it is, or upgrade to a thicker bars. If you find the arb doesnt seem to be working as well with the car lowered then its probably been lowered too far so the wishbones are sitting below horizontal like this: \____/ (Slightly exaggerated of course.) The rear arb is integral to the rear beam and I dont think it can be removed.
  3. I agree with everything said in that first post.
  4. The diff itself isnt the problem afaik, its the rivets that hold the final drive gear onto the diff. It would be worth having them drilled out and replaced with an arp bolt kit while the box is apart.
  5. Seen a good few today being at Kames. Red g60 on track, other than andy cowies? John Kerrs, Pau1's and about another 4 in the area. (Met lpf33 so assume one of them was his.) Anyone else on here? Also, on the way back approaching Douglas got a headlight flash and gave a thumbs up to a white C.
  6. I spun mine for the first time at the Kames trackday. Can laugh it off as there was no damage. 8)
  7. I would have thought the kit would fit, but will likely need the same 6mm spacers that are needed when upgrading a vr to golf 312mm brakes.
  8. It reads a bit high, 88 at the mot centre said 102 on the mfa. Once it gets into the 130's I usually star backing off. At oulton after backing off it kept increasing to 152 as the big ends were seizing...
  9. Seems to stabilize in the 130's on track in mine, if the mocal drops that to the low 120's ill be happy.
  10. Nice one Kev, did you ask about a larger mocal option?
  11. Hmm, would it possible to get an option on a larger mocal as well? Id imagine the 13 row to be ideal on road but I reckon the car could probably do with a bit more for track use.
  12. But isnt yours a rallye block that uses heavier duty headbolts as standard?

    What do yous think?

Looks good in black and yeah, the corrado and vr6 badges are the wrong way round.
  14. So going to a trackday 4 days after fitting my coilovers wasnt a good idea.
  15. Would this be worth a 330mile drive :( and does anyone know what date its on?
  16. Lower mileage, s/hand unit. Its from an auto as well so wont have been thrashed the same as a manual engine would have been. Andy at Awesome said internally it looked brand new. :D Got the schrick and cams swapped over and think im gonnae keep it that way now. Theres really no need for the car to be any faster on the sort of roads ive been driving on recently up here.
  17. I was at a trackday at Oulton Park, which is 25 miles from Awesome GTi, my engine blew and I didnt have any breakdown recovery so it was easier and cheaper to get the bus home and get the car taken to Awesome for diagnosis. I managed to source a replacement engine down south from a burnt out auto corrado with 69k on it for cheap as it was a bit black and covered in melted plastic. I decided it would be best to just have it delivered to Awesome and let them fit it instead of the hassle of getting the car home, or to Star Performance.
  18. The KONI / EIBACH setup is great, in fact, I think I was still running them the time I took you round Knockhill.
  19. Youll still be thinking that to yourself kev, but only because your going sooo much faster than before. :)
  20. Heres my current wallpaper 8) :
  21. Thats a bad pic tbh. looks a lot better in person.
  22. It will look good with an eyebrow spoiler as well, heres mine:
  23. Is there not an emissions report with the fail certificate? Would be helpful to let us know as theres a few different parts to it. If its the lambda thats out chances are its an engine sensor or leaking exaust. If the lambdas fine but something else it out then it could be the cat.
  24. Now have mot, emmisions were passed easy with the cat back on.
