  1. I think that was the problem, the bracket that was missing had meant the exaust was moving about a bit and it was blowing a bit behind the decat. Its now all sealed and resecured properly with the cat back on and I done the brake hoses today so ill put it back in tommorow morning and hopefully all will be good.
  2. Correct, AG has coilpack, CP has immobilizer as well. B and CC are distributor. Early Auto is BF.
  3. I like that paint, reminds me of the cop cars in Robocop, in fact, if I had a track car id buy some tins of bbq paint from halfords and diy it.
  4. What was the name of the place where we turned on to the road with all the hairpins? That was ace. 8)
  5. I had a scorpion previously, looked and sounded good, fitted well. It fell apart though, poorly built. Go for the Magnex.
  6. How about I get you at the secc, then we can go via stockiemuir road heading to loch lomond joining on to where your route will go. Its about the same distance but much more entertaining than heading through Clydebank and Dumbarton. Ask biggrim, he knows the road. (From the trip to stirling.) :)
  7. Hmm, not enough info for the aa website, its asking for more details. Ill go, does your route go through Milngavie? If it does it would probably be the best place for me to meet you.
  8. Ill get back to you soon, mot expired yesterday and ive got to stick the cat back on and a few other bits to get it through.

    Rear Brace

Just curious, if you undo one side of them can it be moved up and down at all or does it stay fairly solid?

Like I said all imo as ive never tried them. Fairly obvious to see that the Nuespeed should make more of a difference being bolted on and triangulated.
  11. Unfortunately I dont have access to another ecu, plus my vr is a later one with the immobiliser built in so could cause problems. Ill see how it goes tommorow with the cat on it, might find the downpipe or manifold could have came a bit loose after refitting, though im sure I would have heard that. If that doesnt work ill give Star P a phone, strangely my 6400rpm limiter seems to have kicked in again so i dont know if its reverted back to the original map or something. (If thats possible.)
  12. It is the replacement engine, had some good runs but dunno about gas in the oil? No easy tweaking on the vr, im just hoping its not my remap being out as it was done on the old engine that had a slightly skimmed cylinder head on it. :?

I really dont see the trimsport making a big difference as the bits that hold it to the car look like a couple of exaust clamps. Bit flimsy if you ask me. Nuespeed one looks good though ive heard the pipework they use is a bit on the thin side. I reckon it would make more difference than the trimsport one though. Bear in mind ive never tried either so thats all imo, though I reckon ill probably get one from somewhere at some point. Group buy? :) Kev, all the posts ive seen about you reverting some of your car back to standard I dont think ive seen you mention the rear arb? Is it still fitted? If not did you notice a big difference again with it being removed.
  14. As above, my cars just failed mot on emissions. I expected it as im running a decat but what I did not expect was the lambda to be out as well. Shouldnt that still be ok? Even with a decat? Im gonnae stick the cat back on tommorow and get it through the retest hopefully, the cat should sort the rest of the emissions but will it affect the lambda at all? It wasnt out by a lot, 0.06 too high I think. If theres something at fault I take it the most likely would be the lambda sensor as well, im pretty confident most other things should be ok as theres no problems with power. Good news was there was nothing major it failed on, just an exaust hanger missing and some brake pipes needing secured a bit better. easy fixes. :)
  15. Had a janspeed on my 16v as well, sounded good but the fit was seriously awful. To have the tailpipe in the right place on the bumper the exaust was tight against the floor of the car causing noise and vibration. Fitting it so that it would clear the floor and axle with no knocking the tailpipe sat below the bumper. Got a custom from c+c ( http://www.stainlessexhausts.com/ ) on my vr6 and am more than happy with it. Sounds good, fits perfect. Pretty sure they dont use powerflow stuff like most custom places as well, they source there own materials. Not the cheapest though, think mine was about £360 with decat. Anyone local to Glasgow, or willing to travel here, I highly recomend them.
  16. Alternatively dont you have a Haldex setup you could use from your 2.8 24v engine?
  17. Seen on clubgti your serious about breaking it, seems a waste after all the work and you said it yourself: Run it fwd, get the engine management working properly and enjoy, 4wd can come at a later date when you eventually find a coupling.
  18. That g60 time came from a magazine and it was later found that it had a dodgy gearbox, it was a long term test car. Cant remember what magazine though.
  19. Had similar in my last C, managed to slide a modified large washer underneath and bolt it back in place.
  20. I know you said your not keen on BMW's but for all round performance and value for money I think an E36 M3 Evo is hard to beat right now.
  21. If its a track car and doesnt need to look perfect couldnt the existing sunroof be welded in, smoothed off with a bit of filler then painted and remove all the mechanical gubbins underneath?
  22. Dont worry about the rubber lifting off, once its on the car its not going anywhere. From memory its top spring plate, bearing, nut with built in washer (threaded bush) rubber top mount in place (before bush or by pressing it over), then on car and from in the engine bay top plate then the other nut (probably this would be the one that came with your fk's).
  23. See if they will sell the kit without a chip and maf housing for cheaper, use the standard housing and get Vince to map it?
  24. H8RRA, you'll be wanting to check this out then: http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum ... .php?59613
  25. Its something im thinking about. First 4 gears would be really short, changing in to 5th at about 95mph. With the g60 5th it would be similar to standard using a 3.94 final drive. Probably a bit too short tbh, would really need a 6th to go with it I think.
