  1. Sounds like a lot of hate for the clio 182 here. I can honestly say that I couldnt keep up with a 182cup around Oulton Park in the wet, and there was nothing in it down the straights up till about 110mph. This was 5 days after my car was remaped to 223.5bhp and half my interior was stripped out.
  2. Ive seen a blue L-reg VR at the bottom of Kilbowie Rd in Clydebank a few times this week, any takers?
  3. I dont think there ever has been a UK spec DC5, the one without the LSD is the stripped out track spec model, cant remember the name. UK spec DC2's have an lsd that works in a very similar way to a quaife. The Corrado was the best handling front wheel drive car when it was out, the DC2 Type R surpassed it when it was released. A DC2 Type R is a car that I will be seriously considering buying when I no longer have the VR6.
  4. The 2 integra type r's in this country are the DC2 and the DC5. I think the DC2 must have came out just after the corrado vr and the DC5 is the one thats out now. Theres a bit of debate on the Honda forums over which is the better handling but both are streets ahead of a Corrado. I also think the double wishbones were only on the DC2, the DC5 went back to mcpherson struts.
  5. Integras are streets ahead handling wise mainly due to the more modern suspension set up. Im pretty sure they have double wishbones all round, a much better setup for handling than the mcpherson struts and solid rear axle of a corrado. Straight line speed with a standard corrado vr theres nothing in it.
  6. I done a basic guide here a while back: http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... sc&start=0 Should be pretty easy to figure out anything ive not put in.
  7. What charger kit is it that you currently have?
  8. The main advantage of larger disks isnt to improve braking power, the standard brakes in good condition are plenty powerful enough to lock the wheels up at will. The main reason to fit larger disks is to provide more surface area to increase heat dispersal, decreasing brake fade. The rears do more braking than you would think as well, my car is currently going through rear pads faster than fronts, and I have no issues with sticking calipers or anything like that.
  9. If it was real im sure the air filter would be on the other side....
  10. The exaust is opposite to the induction, you really want it as hot as possible. Stainless dissipates heat pretty quickly so without a wrap it could have the opposite effect of what you want. It will also create more heat in the engine bay.
  11. Have you got any sort of exaust wrap for it as well? Good luck on the fitting, there are differences between RHD and LHD manifolds due to the location of the brake servo. Looks good though and could be a worthwhile cheap addition if it fits. :)
  12. Is it just me or does anyone else think it looks like a corsa in that third pic? (I know its not after clicking the link, but I was confused for a moment there.)
  13. I think that one was at Knockhill one of the days I was there. There were 2 s2's with the MRC logos and they were hitting 140 where I was hitting 105. i was still getting round the track quicker though, they were all over the place on the twisties. :)
  14. The first C2 kit sold by Ultimatetune has just been fitted to a golf on vr6oc and rolling roaded at Stealth. Stage 1 - 290bhp and over 260lb-ft of torque. Apparently before the remap there was some detonation over 5000rpm that caused the management to retard the timing making it feel like hitting a rev limiter. Sound familiar Kev?
  15. Have a read of this, should clear up everything you need to know about corner weighting: http://grmotorsports.com/news/012005/un ... hp#more-76 In a road car its not really about making the weight the same left and right, its about setting up the cross weight to 50%
  16. The part number is T10029, try a few different VW dealers, they all seem to have different policies regarding the sale of special tools.
  17. I really cant think of any reason, unless there standard replacement springs from VW as later vr's sat higher so they would have a few options.
  18. There should only be one kit listed for the vr6, they all have the plus axle setup.
  19. Yeah, thats what I thought. But are u using them allen headed bolts now for the carriers or is that just what u used to show the washers?
  20. I thought the washers went on the 17mm hex headed carrier bolts between the carrier and hub?
  21. My old Konis with Eibach springs went straight on to my mates mk3 16v no problem. Only thing we had to change was the height on the rear konis had to be put up to max. I think the mk3 rear springs are a bit longer (30mm ish), but they might work.
  22. I reckon the ECU would probably work as both them part numbers are for the early Motronic 2.7 (dizzy) models. The fueling and timing maps will be different though, dunno how it would run but it wouldnt be perfect. Ok if your gonna have it remapped though.

  24. Personally I think the C2 kit sounds like a better kit than the VF kit but there are many differing opinions on this. Im going to wait till after Ultimatetune get the first batch of chargers out before considering going for one.
