err not wanting to be picky jay but the v6 doesnt actually *have* a cambelt :) -
ummmm, not sure how the g60 piping is routed but on most supercharged cars, the section after the charger and before the TB will run in a vacuum at idle and low revs cos the engine is drawing more air than the charger is supplying, They only start to produce posative pressure around 1500 to 2000rpm ? Thats always how I saw it

3600 quids worth of worth at awesome?!?!?! What was that for? plug change?
-
i paid 4 grand for one exactly the same spec but with 62 thousand miles on it, a couple of months back. (well my mother did) dunno whether we were just lucky or not.

You cant fit bathrooms can you? :D I have been stopped in my tracks with the car because of a bloody bathroom

I got mine friction welded at a company called drivelink in Gateshead, thoroughly recommended, cos thats all they do (driveshafts and prop shafts) they also have a motorsport section. Not a straight forwrd process really, once you decide what length you want the shafts you have to do some calcs with wht type of material you are using, thickness etc, then you have to factor in a 'burn off' allowance, as you will lose a bit of material in the process. Ever looked at a drive shaft and wondered why they sometimes have a lip running round the outside? thats the burnoff material from friction welding that vw cant be arsed to clean off. One thing to consider is that you will pretty much have to run a bigger rolling radius on your wheels - ie as close to the mk4 rolling radius as possible. which isnt a great problem, means you can fit 18"s
-
um I think he said they were 550 quid......I hope he hasnt ordered the plain highsport versions or I will go mad.
-
you can fit the VR water housing on the sid eof the 24v and everything bolts up. Only problem you may have is the downpipes. Phat had to modify his (move them 1cm to the side) to clear the steering rack UJ. Do it, its the way forward, ok, ultimately not as potentially powerful as a 1.8T but the car retains its identity but is modernised. Apparently the 24v is a bit of a screamer :) I have a sound clip of one and it sounds like a ferrari!
-
bloody should do though I think he must have ordered about 40 sets of the bastads lol!
-
just ordered a set of silver line X's funny conversation - "yeah I want some silver line Xs" ---"What car for?" "A 24v corrado syncro" -----"oh......So that will be vr6 fronts and mk3 vr6 syncro rears then?" "bingo" knows his stuff
-
the 24v is no harder than the 1.8T, it will fit on the vr mountings, and look all but stock.
-
I would do a 24v to retain the character of the vehicle :D
-
really? strange that cos my 02m gearbox mated up to my corrado clocks fine without any converters and both rev counter and the speedo work fine....

one more for the ultra rare cloth recaro brigade - my interior 8)

good point and may I say very well argued! To be fair though the car looks really nice, nice colour, and standard ish. I didnt even notice it had no mirrors lol! I bet thats a knacker to drive. Its just the way the wheels have been don that gets me
-
I dont believe even a well setup 16v would be able to keep up with a good standard vr6 IMO. Hey Riley how does the corrado compare to the mk1 to drive? I had a mk1 2 ltr 16v and it was like a bullet, its one of the biggest regrets of my life selling that. Still I should be happy when I get this thing in the garage roadworthy...

yeah but thats not the whole story is it? 3bar at what flow rate?
-
a one with a LOT of debt lol (but a happy one :D )

Hello, Does anyone have the specs for the various fuel pumps? I am thinking about using a 16v pump on my 24v supercharged corrado. Now I know the 16v pumps operates at a much higher presure that the VR6 one, but thats not the whole story is it? eg the vr6 pump operates at 3bar and the 16v one operates at 5bar, but that might be 5bar at 20litres oer minute flow rate, where as the vr pump is 3 bar at 50liters per minute. so when the big fuel demand comes from the engine the 16v fuel pump cannot maintain its pressure and it drops off. Am I making sense? anyone got the stats? Anyone know if a 16v fuel pump will be man enough for the job of fueling a supercharged 2.824v motor? comment/advice please!

lovely looking car but those tyres are effing ridiculous. Ruins the whole thing. Christ you spend that much on the car, then become too tight to fork out the money for the correct width tyre for the wheels... If I am ever seen with stretched tyres on my car you have my permission to shoot me in the knackers.....
-
hehe I was thinking that very thing. Its a fucking toyota carina in drag!

Phat is putting together a group buy for HW coilovers. check the names of the big manufacturers that are using them, to me thats a sign that they are quality kit. Thats what I am going for.
-
get in! Is my car bright enough to make the cover then? Looking good marra
-
how the hell do you go about painting a a chequered flag on your car? not that I am thinkin of doing it mind you.... Actually bright yellow with a black chequered flag hmmmmm.......lol
