Fair point

Cheers, so from what you're saying there has to be an element of trust/risk involved here in that I need to pay for it, then wait for the cert to (hopefully) arrive before I can take to the DVLA and (hopefully) assign it to my vehicle? Fortunately though, I trust the seller!
-
The seller will have to sign part 1 to assign the number and also sign part 6, to add you as the nominee, better if they do not date it, you will then have until the cert runs out to assign it to your vehicle So once i've been added as a nominee by the current 'owner' - does that instantly make me the legal keeper and not him? :? It just seems a bit vague to me, it would be far easier if it was a simple case of signing ownership over like you do with a car - its the 'nominee' business that makes it confusing to me, handing over money to someone that doesn't 'own' something that I'm also not 'buying'
-
Grand, thanks chaps, it's all a bit complicated/confusing having never had a PP before
-
Im pretty sure its on a retention cert?

Does anyone have any info on buying a private plate? I'm trying to buy one privately and I can't find any info online about how to make sure everythings done properly, if anyone has any info or a link to a site that explains the process I'd be grateful!

Also, check his feedback, he has a negative from a car sale - having said that the rado looks lovely, not £4500 lovely though! The seats would fetch about £650 these days I suppose, maybe a touch more depending on condition.

"Remember, silver Corrado's are rare especially in this spec!!!!" Looks black to me!

When you've gone to the hassle of bringing a car to the other side of the World with you, adding air-con to it shouldn't be a problem
-
It does seem a bit of a mad thing to do considering how much hassle it is to get hold of one over there, you may regret it but then again maybe you won't, I'm sure the R32 will help ease the pain and I expect you got a good price for the rado too 8)

http://wiki.the-corrado.net/heated_seat_repair.html - that might help mate? Those seats have come up really well 8)

£26 for parcel shelf straps!!!! They used to be £1.80 each from VW! I've got a spare set and I'll be keeping hold of them having seen that!
-
A freind of mine bought a g60 in Spain that had been imported from Germany so its possible, and you might have better luck getting a decent LHD from Germany too tbh!
-
Thats bordeaux red mate.

Do 'wheel whores' stickers look good though? Or do they make you look like a prize pr1ck? YOU decide! You're right though, I was pointed towards a thread recently about Corrados where there was people giving advice about whether G60s are better than VR6s even though they've never actually driven either let alone owned one!

I can also understand vagman's point regarding the 'sheep' thing - there are many instances where one person starts saying 'X' is the thing to go for, and before long the whole internet is saying anything other than 'X' is schitt whether they've tried 'X' and the alternatives or not - it happens with tuning companies as well as products, which then means that anyone with bad experience of the company/product can't be arsed to post about it because they know they'll just be chastised for daring to speak out against one of the chosen few. It gets to a point where certain companies can do what they like to customers because they know that if the customer dares to speak up about it they'll be shot down in flames by the hordes of fanboys trying to gain kudos  This is where I think we're lucky with this forum in that there are a few people who have actually tried and tested a good range of products on the market so are actually in a position to give proper comparisons from first hand experience (love or hate him, Mr Haywire is a prime example of this) Believe me, this is a rare and valuable asset to this forum. Trying to separate the decent (first hand, experienced and solid) information from the standard internet forum "get this, its the best even though I've not tried it or any of the alternatives" is bloody hard on other forums for different marques, sometimes impossible!

Its not just about how they drive though, it's about ride comfort and also build quality/how long they last, but I can understand what vagman is getting at. I've just done my suspension on my van, I don't care how low it looks or particularly how fast it goes around corners, I wanted to improve the ride quality and I also needed something that could cope with the conditions I put the van through (I drive it on beaches etc and live in a coastal area so don't want them seizing within 6 months due to sand/salt) so I went for KW's. Im keeping the van long term, it carries a lot of weight, it does a lot of miles so I wanted the best I could get for it. I'll be doing my Corrado at some point, and when I do having thought about it I expect I'll go for a Weitec kit. I'm no boy racer, I just want a 40mm drop to make it look and handle a bit better than standard, I won't be playing with dampening or ride height, upping the power or doing track days, or even ragging the thing around local roads so spending £1000+ on suspension would be a waste of money for me, when the Wietec kit is £300 (or whatever) It depends on what you want from the car IMO :)

Hehe :) Funnily enough, I hadn't driven a Corrado for 2 years when I first test drove my current one, and the first thing that sprang to mind when I did was "f00k me my van's a monster!" obviously due to it being a TDI its all over by the time the VR6 gets going, mine hits the limiter at 4.5k! but the low down grunt of a TDI packs a lot of punch. I've got a 2.5tdi T4 which has been remapped to 130bhp btw, so I can imagine yours is a little rocket! 8) I love my van, and if it was a choice between the rado and the van, the rado would be gone  :ignore:

All the info is on the first page, these aren't Corrado wheels but they look very much like standard G60 RZ's

Corrado meet - Brooklands 1997 - where are they now?

ONP rings a bell  Great pic! -
I'm always the boring one, but if you're not on the property ladder yet i'd say the money would be MUCH better spent on a deposit rather than a fast car :dorky: Keep saving, buy a house - THEN buy the fast car 8)
